About this property

The Studio under the gum tree.

Nestled under a 300 year old gum tree is a mud brick studio. Adjacent to, but separate and private from the main house. Spacious but cosy open plan with air conditioning and electric log fire. North facing to capture the winter sun and a patio to sit and enjoy the stunning bush views. Well in off the road to enjoy the bird life and the natural environment.

With a single open plan area it sleeps 2 adults comfortably. Queen sized bed with electric blanket. Fold out sofa bed (double) perfect for small children. (Not suitable for adults) The sleeping area, kitchen and TV area are all open together with a seperate bathroom.

Full kitchen with china, cutlery and glassware for 4 people. Wine glasses provided. Glass Cooktop, (No oven) Microwave, snack maker, air fryer plus cookware and microwave containers. Out door bbq also.
Guests may explore our 24 acre property and browse the extensive garden of mostly Australian native plants.

PETS are welcome indoors but we do ask that they do not sleep on the beds. The yard is fully enclosed and is a safe space for dogs to stay in.

A short 5 minute drive to our local village (Strathfieldsaye) for supplies, fuel or a meal. 10-15 minute drive to Bendigo for all it has to offer. Outstanding art gallery and restaurants. Magnificent heritage buildings.

We are within easy cycling distance to the O’Keefe rail trail (6kms.)

A great central location to visit Castlemaine, Maldon, Echuca or the wineries.

Our hosts, Jan & Tony, were friendly, and we had some interesting talks about the local plants, birds and animals.The Studio was great, and had everything we needed. Enclosed yard for the dogs, and bush for walks.The highlight of our stay was watching a brush tailed phascogale!

It was awesome to have a pet friendly place where our dog could run around and the whole yard was sealed up. The photos online don't do the studio justice. Was located in a beautiful and quiet location. Will def be going back.

The studio is lovely. Although it is a one room studio, it is large and larger than many one bedroom cottages we have stayed in. It is very cosy, warm [it was quite chilly while we stayed but the heating is great] and well set up. It's location close to Bendigo but in a rural/bush setting is great. Jan & Tony were lovely to deal with.
