The property was great! It was exactly what's was described. The backyard was so huge that my dog enjoyed it a lot. We spent some quality time in the backyard and the cold tub. Sara was very responsive to every query. The only downside was the heat. We were unfortunate to travel in one of the hottest weekends of the summer and with a/c it was difficult. There were fans but barely enough for the 4 of us. I wish I could visit again in a cooler time to better enjoy my stay.

Unusal cottage vacation
Cozy old house with Peculiar house decor.. Not for everyone taste but maybe good for some animal lovers?? may need some upgrade on furnitures, door/window?? New dishes and cups are good ideal? Felt like stayed at rustic cottage camping in the park?? No AC.. Near by Waterfall wasn't even accessible.. pavement construction around area made horrible for driving.. almost had flat tires.. Thank God with many board games and nice fenced backyards, we made best out of it.. Dogs were very happy here though.
The house itself was so interesting, lots of decor to look at and enjoy. Plenty of seating and lighting, always a plus. Close to Bon Echo park, and little towns for shopping. Overall, a great time was had by all.
Beautiful house with lots of character. A lovely fenced yard for our dog. It was spacious and comfortable, except for the unfortunate heatwave while we were there. Evenings in the yard were pleasant surrounded by zooming hummingbirds, goldfinches and jays.
Lovely little village and the conservation areas around were gorgeous.
Lots of board games for the family and the many curios around the house made for an interesting game of I spy :)
Our family of 5 (adults and teens) really enjoyed our week at this house in Flinton. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was well equipped for a fun stay. All the essentials plus lots of puzzles and board games. If it's important to you to know this, there is no tv here, and that suited us just fine!
Your host has a fun and quirky decorating style, which we enjoyed very much. Delightful!
We spent our days canoeing, cycling, and swimming in the parks and conservation areas nearby. We especially enjoyed Bon Echo Park. If you can, pick a fair weather day, rent a canoe if you can and go for a paddle by the 100+ foot cliffs to take in some history by observing the many Indigenous pictographs painted on the rocks at canoe level.
Enjoy your stay!

About the host

I had been dreaming about having a house in the country for most of my life. So this place is literally a dream come true! I have three adult daughters and a little grandson. We all spend as much time as we can out in Flinton. Each daughter has a partner and a dog and I have 2 cats. When we are all here together it is a full house and so much fun :)
Why they chose this property
I have always loved this area and I loved Flinton in particular because of the river and the forest trails.
