Not Happy

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was in a good location but very damaged and neglected. Bedroom wardrobe full of old blankets, old heaters and cushions. Very little space for clothes. Lino on floor in loungroom entry split and torn, could see concrete. Trip hazard. Exhaust fan in bathroom not working nor clothes dryer. Door lock very difficult to lock, salt corroded. Kitchen tidy split and broken.

Location perfection- but otherwise flawed

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Obviously you can't fault the location and it was perfect for our family. We normally camp but were concerned about weather so we wanted to be close to the caravan park where friends & family were staying and needed a ground floor location for our toddler. The real estate clearly rely on this unbeatable location with this apartment. It's incredibly dated and had a strong stale/smokey smell upon our arrival. It was stifling at first- we kept all windows and doors open for as long as possible but it was actually difficult to get to sleep the first night as the smell was off putting. The other issue was the 'second bedroom'. This didn't really cause us an issue but it was definitely advertised incorrectly. The second bedroom is just an alcove off the dining/kitchen area, meaning my husband and I had to go to bed at the same time as our kids. This was honestly ok for us, but if you are looking to hire for say, two couples or older/teenage kids, it would definitely be an issue as you would be tip-toeing around each other and whoever is staying in there would have zero privacy, there was also nowhere to store luggage in that space. All of that said, I'll reiterate that the location is unbeatable. We could swim straight into the creek from the nearby steps and my husband went fishing right outside the apartment. I just feel that it should be advertised more truthfully. The other apartments in the building looked a lot nicer like they had been more recently renovated, so I'd try for one of them next time!! Would I recommend this property to a friend? It truly depends on the friend! I have a few friends that would be horrified by the state of the place!! I have others who love crescent head and the creek who I would recommend it to.

Reviewer Comments: Camped in unit five at beachfront apartments a perfect place to launch a ski to paddle up and down killer Creek or enter the SurfA perfect spot to jump on one of the Malabu’s and get the outgoing tide into the surf out onto the point, and if in luck, the tide has turned and float back up the creek to the front doorstep of unit five beachfront apartmentsThe unit itself had everything required for a relaxing stay fridge, clothes dryer, washing machine shower clothesline all the mod cons air conditioning stove dishwasherI hope to return later this year for anything up to 3 days possibly a week and would be more than delighted if this unit was available at the time

Please Fix the Holes in the Floor

Back to the 1960's!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having been a long time Crescent home owner, it was interesting to be on the rental side of the process. We knew the apartment block very well as we rented here through the 90's before buying in Crescent. I dont think apartment 5 has been touched in 40 years! Curtains are hanging on one or two curtain hooks, the cork floor is well past its used by date, but despite this, it was fine for a weekend stay. I know that other apartments in the block have been renovated. Maybe it's time to invest in apartment #5.

Great spot

Great location and so close to everything. No soap in the bathroom and no washing utensils in the kitchen. Otherwise a great place.

Great location but not clean

A poorly maintained property. Very dirty inside. Rat poison and rat traps in the cupboards, mildew on threadbare curtains, cushion covers in need in a wash. Soft uncomfortable bed. Supplied crockery needed a good clean. Grassed area on riverfront had not been mowed for a long time.
