Great location
It was a very warm September and the bedroom down stairs only had a window unit which was too noisy for my wife so it was a bit warm at times trying to sleep. The location is super and easy walk to almost everything. The owners are extremely nice and made sure the place was very neat and clean.
Charming attic apartment in the heart of Wiscasset.
The apartment is cozy and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming upon arrival. The furnishings were comfortable and the place was clean. It also was well set up for cooking and the owners provided good quality coffee. Would recommend for couples and small families but there are 2 flights of stairs to climb, so not accessible to those with mobility challenges. The suite was just off the Main Street and as such it was a perfect location. We enjoyed Red's Eats" as well as Treats,, the little coffee shop on the corner.
Great apartment in Wiscasset!
Terry was an amazing host for our weeklong stay in Wiscasset! The apartment was very comfortable for us and our toddler, the town is lovely, and the location in Midcoast Maine is ideal for visiting the surrounding area.
Peaceful getaway
Even though the house was just off Hwy 1, it was very quiet. We stayed in the bright upstairs apartment. Check in and check out were super easy. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked most meals, even though there were plenty of dining options. Location was perfect for us, not too far from Boothbay Harbor, Popham Beach, Damariscotta (we even went blueberry picking in Bowdoin!). We've already recommended this spot to our friends and family. Thank you, Rob and Terry!
Lovely stay in a quiet and friendly town!
We really enjoyed our stay at Green Gables! Our family of four stayed in the third floor apartment, which was just the right size for us for a short visit to Wiscasset. (Our teenage son slept on the sleeper sofa and found it really comfortable.) We had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Rob was great about communicating with us before the trip and Terry was super friendly and helpful while we were there. We enjoyed exploring the shops in town, as well as the flea market and Antique Barn just outside town. All four of us really enjoyed a visit to Monkey See Monkey Do, a high ropes/zipline course nearby. We ate at Red's on our first night in town. Thanks to Rob's advice, we knew to try for an evening time (little or no lines) rather than lunch time. Our Maine trip later took us to other parts of the state, but we really enjoyed starting our visit in a quiet and friendly town. Green Gables is just off Rte. 1, so it's a great location for exploring Wiscasset or venturing further afield to Bath, Boothbay, or beyond.
Great location, comfy house
The third floor was just right for our family, the kitchen is easy to work in (be sure to bring your own oil, sugar, etc.), the deck is lovely in the afternoon...and hey, a friendly Texan welcoming you to Maine!
Maybe someday the Wiscasset shops will decide it's worth staying open past 5pm, we missed them over the whole weekend. ;)
Location
Around the corner is Main Street Wiscasset, and several antique stores and seafood restaurants like world-famous Red's Eats. Or you can stroll less than two minutes down to the picturesque marina, the boat dock (which is also a put-in for kayaks), and the Maine Eastern line train station. Wiscasset is the antiquing capital of Maine, and visitors will find an auction house a short drive over the Route 1 bridge. The 'prettiest village in Maine' has a recreation center with a swimming pool, and locations to purchase seafood fresh from the dock. The house is a 25-minute drive to Pemaquid Beach, and the famous Pemaquid Fisherman's Coop. Drive 20 minutes for the resort atmosphere, whale-watching and fishing trips available in Boothbay Harbor.
