My husband and I stayed at Porcupine Way for nearly the entire month of May, to be close to a new grandson in Bath. Although it was cool and wet weather, the property was so beautiful, with changing tides, a progression of lovely wild and cultivated perennials in bloom, bird sightings and companion deer as one drove down the dirt road to the property that the weather scarcely mattered. The space is small and completely functional, sunny whenever the sun broke through, with nice cross ventilation. We were greeted by a fresh bouquet of narcissus and hyacinth, as well as a robust spice and herb collection, and it is decorated with sweet prints. The shower is small but the water pressure divine, and hot water plentiful. We brought two phones, two laptops and one printer and i was grateful for the thoughtful abundance of powerstrips for plugging in. Because the apartment is attached to the owner’s home, some potential renters might worry about the proximity. Don’t! Not only is the shared wall very well sound insulated but Pat could not have been more discreet—solicitous of our every potential need, bending over backwards to make sure that none of her activities would inconvenience us. She was wonderfully informative and fun company, and we came away feeling that we had made a vibrant human connection and a good new friend. My husband’s mobility was a little challenged by the flight of stairs but it was a challenge that he rose to. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
