We believe that slowing down from time to time is essential and doing so surrounded by the forest, with the ocean only a short walk away, creates a space where it is easy to breathe and enjoy the things that make the soul sing.

Ocean Song Cottages were completely renovated in the Spring of 2022. The aim was to have cottages that were light filled, minimal and quietly luxurious with modern conveniences and finishes all while finding a balance that allowed them to sit comfortably in the forested oceanside landscape. The result was a carefully considered mix of nordic hygge and mid-century modern with a nod to our own Pacific Northwest's contemporary aesthetic: simple forms, real wood, a restrained palette and maintaining an open feel to the space.

Stroll the property while viewing wildlife that can include bear, deer, birds of prey, whales and seals. This serene and breathtaking oceanfront property can make your dream of enjoying a PNW getaway a reality!

We want you to feel comfortable here, to enjoy your time, to leave encouraged, rested and rejuvenated. This is Ocean Song, you are welcome here and we think you’ll like it.

Ocean Song was an ideal location for a mini-retreat. We'd suggest planning to spend at least a full day just relaxing on the property as the host has it perfectly appointed for optimal relaxation and rejuvenation. When I say every detail has been considered, I mean EVERY detail. From the high powered binoculars (you'll want them for whale watching) to abundant towels and even cozy slippers to pad around the house, you will find everything you need for a relaxing stay. The property itself boasts sweeping views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca from which you can while away the hours watching passing ships and whales.

What a beautiful place!

The cottage is well designed with everything you need. There has been a lot of thought put into every detail to bring comfort to your stay. The ambiance is calm, private and relaxed. We felt pampered with the accommodations and setting…an amazing view that is ever changing. Melodie is a great communicator, answering questions prior and during our stay! We will certainly visit the cottage next time we travel to Victoria.

Great Stay!

Melodie was the ideal host. She always responded promptly to our questions, both before and during our stay. She provided many great recommendations re: local restaurants, beaches and hiking areas. Her place was clean, peaceful and an ideal home base for exploring the surrounding areas.

This Getaway Is A Must!

From the time we were booking this property to the time of our stay, the host, Melodie made sure that everything was perfect for our stay here. The placement of these cottages is just perfect - the view and the serenity were just what we needed. It was an awesome way to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Relaxing Oasis on Vancouver Island

The Ocean Song cottages were amazing -- perfect for a chance to disconnect, relax, and take in the beauty of Vancouver Island. The cottage had everything we needed for a week of relaxation: a small but very well equipped kitchen, a private hot tub looking out on the Juan de Fuca Strait, a hammock to lie in and read a book, and a gas fireplace to warm ourselves after a day of hiking in the area. Lots of wildlife to see, including bald eagles nesting on the property, and sea lions swimming in the strait below. The property is very quiet--there's only one other cottage on the property, and most of the time, you'd never even know if anyone was staying in the other cottage. The host Melodie is easy to deal with and very responsive. We had an amazing time, and can't wait to go back.

Beautiful escape

This is a beautiful place to escape your busy life. You are perched up on the cliff and overlooking the ocean. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you need. This area of the Island is gorgeous and lush and you spend hours walking and enjoying the beaches/parks. Highly recommend!

Wind Song is Peaceful

Very quiet peaceful setting. Great view of the sound and Olympic peninsula. Bald Eagles perching on a tree right in front of the cottage. Property was just as described.

Absolutely Perfect Restorative Retreat

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Song Cottages for our honeymoon and could not have been more satisfied with our stay. Melodie provided excellent suggestions for the timing of our journey to Shirley and amazing recommendations for what to do while we were there. The spa like atmosphere she has created with each perfectly curated piece of furniture, bed sheet, robe, towel, bath and body products made us feel like royalty. The view from every corner of the cottage and grounds is breathtaking. We feel so lucky to have been able to call Cedar Cottage out home away from home and look forward to returning! Melodie - Thank you for your dedication to creating a peaceful and restorative environment for your guests! P.S. The chocolate welcome gift was absolutely amazing!!

Amazing stay

We had the most wonderful week at the Oceansong Cabin. We booked the cabin for our honeymoon because of the coziness of the cabin and the hot tub with an ocean view. It did not disappoint. We loved exploring and then coming home to the hot tub. The cabin is gorgeous and was very clean. We hope to go back someday and 100% recommend staying here. The host communicated with us a lot and gave recommendations for things to do in the area!

"The perfect place to slow down and recharge. The view is spectacular. Seeing eagles, bears, and deer the daily adds to the whole ambiance. The internet was great, and the amenities, as well as the little things such as yoga gear, plush robes, and body care products, were excellent."

We purchased the cottages in August 2021 because it was a case of love at first sight. The moment we stepped out of our car the view took my breath away and I remember thinking “My life is about to change.”

We had found a place, a uniquely beautiful place, to experience relaxation and renewal, a space which would encourage us to connect and reflect on what matters most. With refined comforts and expansive views a stay at the cottages prioritizes rest and retreat. Live simply. Live slow. Breathe in nature.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Ocean Song Cottages were closed at the end of the season on January 7, 2022 and re-opened on April 1, 2022. They were carefully and intentionally renovated with a strong emphasis on what matters - comfort and nature. Light pours into the cottages' large windows, bespoke interior fittings, modern appliances and furniture make for an easy stay and encourages a focus on well-being and reconnecting with nature. Outside there are 3.5 acres to explore plus many fabulous beaches close by. Each cottage is graced with a gas grill, 2-person hot tub and a large, shared expansive lawn which gently slopes down towards a breathtaking view of the ocean.
