We hope you love Red Door Retreat as much as we do! A private, tranquil home base straight across the road from the Base Hospital, and one block from Rockhampton Grammar School. Stylish and comfortable, this 1950's cottage style home has quality linens and many thoughtful personal touches that will make it your home away from home. There is off street parking for several vehicles.
David grew up in Rocky, and as a family we have lived here for over 20 years, so you'll be looked after by locals!

All the comforts

All aspects of our stay was above expectations. Thank you to Sandra and David - We had 2 families of 3 share Red Door Retreat for 5 nights, and everything was amazing. The house was clean and well appointed. It was so nice to have milk, bread, spreads and cereal available on arrival, to reduce the need to rush straight to the shops after our long drive, and enjoy a coffee with some of Sandra's shortbreads. We would stay again, and recommend Red Door Retreat to anyone.

Very clean, spacious and quiet!! We were warmly welcomed by the host and to our delight in the kitchen we the most delicious home made shortbread biscuits!!!!!!! The home felt like home, the area was safe and we loved the week we had. Highly recommend for anyone 👌

Could not fault this property. All the little details Sandra thought of made it extra special and very welcoming (of course the homemade GF shortbread has to be mentioned - just divine!)..... Clean, comfortable and beautiful with everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend.

One of the best homes I have stayed in

From the get go, Sandra our host was quick with her responses to my questions and gave us all the information that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The house is decorated beautifully with comfortable furniture, linen and a very well equipped kitchen. Sandra had milk, bread in the freezer, cereals and homemade shortbread which was delicious. The house was better than the pictures and description. It was super clean, fully air conditioned, beautiful big bath and lovely homely feel to it. Location wise it was in a nice quiet street but still close to the main street, shops and restaurant. Plenty of off street parking. We would definitely stay again if we were to head back to Rockhampton. Thanks Sandra, your Stayz house was amazing!

Sandra and David are absolute gems

I would highly recommend this accomodation for anyone staying in Rockhampton! The house itself was immaculate, well furnished, and so very spacious. The communication with Sandra and David was amazing and they were so very accommodating (Sandra even made and delivered us short bread - twice). I honestly cannot give higher praise for such a wonderful home and couple!

Why they chose this property

For a number of years we have run a successful Airbnb called "Our Slice of Tropical Paradise", which is the downstairs of our old queenslander. We decided there was a need for more good quality home-style accommodation for travellers, in particular around the hospital precinct, so we have set up this lovely cottage-style home straight across the road from the hospital.

What makes this property unique

We hope it will be a haven for travellers and families who are here for any reason, but in particular it will be very convenient for those seeking proximity to the Hospital, whether they be medical professionals/students or patients or relatives of patients.
