About Haviland and John
We're both Kentucky natives. Haviland is from Cynthiana, and John is from Lebanon. We rented an apartment in the house for several years and bought it in the summer of 2016 because we found it charming and also knew it would be challenging. It was in a state of disrepair when we bought it, and almost every area in the house had critical issues to address. We spent 18-months doing an intense DIY renovation to make it as inviting and comfortable as we can for our guests. We're still making minor adjustments and improvements almost daily, and it's become more of a passion now than work.

Why Haviland and John chose Woodward Heights
This particular apartment is within a historic house in a residential neighborhood near Downtown Lexington. It is in walking distance to bars and restaurants, and the owners live on-site in a separate apartment and are almost always available if-needed.
What makes this Apartment unique
This home has many unique features, from the gingerbread moulding on the porch, to the hardwood floors inside. We purchased it from a friend who purchased it from a friend. We are constantly working to make it even better. Our favorite space is probably the backyard which is shared with all 3-apartments in the house.

I met my friend there for the weekend and we loved the house. It was clean, very stylish and comfortable. We would definitely come back!
Spacious but some issues
This apartment is very spacious, except for the bathroom, which is just too small to navigate. Doors made it very difficult to move around, and claw foot tub was hazardous to get in and out of. And shower curtain limited space inside tub. Also of concern was lack of railing on steps leading to entrance door. Very hazardous carrying luggage up and down. On the plus side, bed was very comfortable, apartment was very clean, parking was easy and convenient, and location was good. And tv reception and programming was very good.
Conveniently located and super clean
We enjoyed our stay at this conveniently located and super clean home. We were able to easily walk downtown, there was plenty of street parking, and the neighborhood is cute. The home is even larger in space than we expected and nicely decorated and furnished. The bed and bedding is very comfy. Just be careful when walking from the bedroom to the bathroom as there is a step up that you can forget during the night (my hubby actually hurt his toe pretty badly). The hosts were thoughtful checking up on us after our stay worried about possible loud noises from the other unit, but we didn’t hear it and slept soundly. Would stay here again!
Great location! Nice place, will be back!
Wonderful, charming downtown apartment
We are local residents who were looking for a romantic getaway. This historic property far exceeded our expectations. Full of charm & personality, located on an beautiful street in the heart of downtown. The owners were amazing, very responsive & easy to contact. Our only regret is that we had to leave. We will definitely stay again & highly recommend this property to others. Staying in a hotel could never compare to what this property offers.
