Convenient location and old house charm

We chose this home because it was conveniently located near Old Town Colorado shops, The Pinery at the Hill, where we attended a wedding, and tourist attractions like Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs. We had two married couples and three teenagers in our group and everyone had a sleeping space. The house is old, which comes with its own charm and compromise, but the owners were up front about the design and planned details that made our stay comfortable. We had clean linens and towels, detergents to accompany the clothing washer/dryer and dishwasher, access to streaming accounts, and plenty of kitchen necessities to accommodate dine-in options. Communication was easy from booking our trip and planning ahead, to accessing the house, cleanup, and checkout guidelines. We enjoyed our family weekend!

Ok for 1big family or 2 small families

I THINK it said it slept 7. But although there are several beds some are in the same room and the 2 bathrooms are very small. We originally had planned on having 3 other adults with us since it was 4 bedroom. We are very glad it was just us 2 couples The house is old but the kitchen is well remodeled and VERY functional. The contact person was very easy to text with also .

Cute home but had lots of problems

This was a cute home, however it had major problems for a vacation rental. Neither of the bathrooms had doors that actually latched closed. The down stairs one would close but not latch. The upstairs one you had to prop something in front of it to keep door shut. The front door lock was lose and very unsecured. Half of the windows in the down stairs were broken. They were all covered by blinds or drapes that were closed. There were multiple lights that were burnt out/ burned out while there. The trash truck came to the house next door at 3:45 am with alarms sounding that woke up my entire family. Also the down stairs toilet seat was broken, it only had one bolt connecting it so it just slid and flopped around. It was a cute home, that just needs some work on it. I would not recommend for a vacation rental.

My extended family used this as a place to stay together while going to a family life celebration. It worked well as a home base. We had 8 people including a baby. Nice to have a crib available so we didn't have to bring one.Kitchen is new and has what's needed for basic food prep. BYO storage or plastic bags if you need them. Some issues with lack of linens, which we pointed out to the manager, who sent an appreciative reply. The backyard is totally overgrown with weeds and prickers. We even had 2 deer visit one day! The grill was accessible.The doors were the biggest issue. One bedroom doesn't have a door. The upstairs bathroom didn't latch closed, and one BR didn't have a latch at all. Walk to grocery store and downtown area. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access and good instructions. It's a but rough around the edges, but we enjoyed being together in a house and would recommend it.

Things didn't work right.

When I first arrived the code didn't work for the lock that was in a generic email. I called manager and he had a wrong phone number, so I was never sent so the welcoming information. The doors didn't close, none of them! So locking a bathroom wasn't even an option. The shower/ tub upstairs wasn't functional. The knob to turn on the shower didn't exist and there was no plug for the tub. The temperature constantly kept going down to 60° every 6 hours and it was snowing while we were there, so we would always wake up freezing every morning and come home to a freezing house if we were gone all day.

House was not ready for renting and didn't have the essentials as stated.

I really wanted to like this house but this house is not ready to be rented especially for large families. The house is advertised as accommodating 8 adults. When we first got there at check-in time the cleaning lady was still cleaning and we had to wait until she finished to get in. She then stated she needed to come back and leave a broom on the front porch because the house needed one. As we started getting settled we notice that the house was nice a cool downstairs and the upstairs was and hot and had a small fan in one room. I received a text from the owner welcoming me and if I needed anything to just let her know. I asked about the AC and she stated that their no AC in the second floor. She explains that they were supposed to come to installed and cancelled on her. These days were in the 90s and you could really feel the heat upstairs even with windows open. The first couple of nights was very uncomfortably hot until it got cold outside and then it was very uncomfortably cold since it had no heater upstairs either. Now the house is old but has been remodeled so I can understand some things not being 100%. When i first used the downstairs bathroom i closed the door and the handle came off. Then I'm sitting on the toilet and the doors swings open because the doors are old and don't really catch on to the wall. So during the whole stay we had to put a bag or towel to stop the door from opening. That was not acceptable. Now the house also states it had 4 bedrooms but in reality it is only 3 bedrooms because the downstairs rooms are two rooms joint together with no door in between so their is no privacy for the rooms and you really would have to know who is staying in each room since you can see everything and you have to go through the smaller room to use the bathroom. Now, we had 8 people staying in total with two teenagers. The following morning when we made breakfast we saw that the house only had 3 coffee cups, had one spoon and spatula. We showered and had to share towels because they only left us with 6 towels for 8 people. Don't understand how they thought that was going to work. The next day we were going to have a BBQ and went to start the grill. First the grill was disgusting, it had old food stuck to the grill inside and who knows what it was or how long it was there. The second thing was that it had no tank. I don't understand how we are suppose to use a gas grill with no propane tank. There is more but I would suggest another pl

Wonderful gem of a home

This property made our stay in Colorado amazing! It was perfectly located to all of the things we did! The home has so much character and I would stay there again in a heart beat!

When arrived we thought prefect size for everyone. The upstairs during the day is hot, no a/c. The plumbing backed up every time you use the dishwasher, it would back up the shower. Called the property contact and had someone come in. I think the most irritating part was the kitchen and bathroom door. Kitchen - had a coffeemaker with no coffee. Don’t have any kitchen items to make a casserole. I went and bought the kitchen staples to cook. The laundry room - whoever folds the towels needs to go back and do it again. It was all just stuffed on a shelve. The downstairs bathroom door - does pop open when u are in it. Irritating. These minor items can be easily resolved and then I would say it was enjoyable. The Dining chairs - they are too old, uncomfortable to sit and play a game.

Family Week

The property was great! Overall, we were very happy! Especially appreciated the nice beds and bedding, all of the fluffy white towels and nice hand soaps throughout the home. The space was great. It got a little warm upstairs during the day, but sleeping was comfortable. Only thing that could have been improved (and this is SO slight) was the kitchen items - perhaps another sheet tray and another large pot for cooking. But what was provided was great! We loved our stay!!!
