This is the ultimate Sunday River Resort area rental! You'll be hard pressed to find a home that offers
anything more than the Mountain Hideaway does no matter the time of year.

First of all; the location is ideal. The Mountain Hideaway is situated off of the Sunday River Road in a
coveted skier-based subdivision called Powder Ridge. The drive to the lifts is short, scenic, and easy.
From here, you can come and go as needed for lunch or breaks without killing too much time in travel.
The property itself may make it hard to want to leave at all. Upon arriving at the house, you will be
enticed to go inside by the beautiful and inviting log construction and the true mountain-chalet
aesthetics.

The features here are endless! The home is designed to allow multiple groups to vacation together with
a full kitchen on each living level. Multiple living rooms, two gas fireplaces, two laundry rooms, and the
ability to come or go privately from either level makes this stay a dream. Overflow space is abundant
with a large, 4-season sunroom, a bonus loft, and a rec-room, which is furnished with speakers and a
pool table.

For guests during the summer and shoulder seasons, the refreshing in-ground pool (20 x 40) will allow
you a perfect place to gather and relax with friends after a day of hiking or mountain biking.
An outdoor kitchen near the pool is designed with hot and cold plumbing, a kegerator, a refrigerator, outdoor
gas fire pitcand two grills. Maximize your time spent outdoors by cooking meals together and relishing Maine's
beautiful scenery.

Snow removal: All our homes are contracted with various snow removal companies in the area. This includes plow service and snow shoveling for decks and harder to reach areas.

Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking.

Security Camera Disclosure: This home is equipped with exterior security cameras for protection and to monitor snow removal. The cameras are located at the following locations:

Family vacation at Mountain Hideaway

This property was perfect for our family of 12. Plenty of space for everyone. Everything you could possibly need and extremely clean. The pool was wonderful. We would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing Home, Great Service

The house was stunning with so many different rooms and a range of activities. The communications with the rental agency were outstanding and they were very responsive to any questions we had.

Perfect family trip!

Our trip was amazing. The house was perfect for our needs - clean, well stocked kitchen, plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and an awesome pool and hot tub. We had 6 kids under 10 and they all loved it. So many things to do and if you don’t want to leave the house, you will still have an amazing time :)

Perfect February Break Home Base

A super spacious and clean property for multiple families. The property manager was super responsive and even was able to help us locate jumper cables when our car died on check-out day. We stayed here for a ski vacation and its proximity to the mountain was perfect. Lots of room for kids and adults to hang out and spread out.

Great Getaway Spot

This property has everything, you feel like you never need to leave. Between the pool, hot tub, outdoor bar and grills, fire pit, and many activities inside, this place keeps you busy all day. There’s also so many great places nearby to enjoy the outdoors. This place has more than enough space between the two kitchens and living rooms.

Family gathering

Wonderful home! We enjoyed being able to gather for a week with with our adult children and grandchildren. We cooked and played games and just enjoyed being able to all be together in one place. Laughter is the best medicine and we had a lot of that!

Ski getaway

We spent MLK weekend at this house this year with our friends. It was perfect for our ski weekend getaway. The location was ideal to get to the mountain. The kitchen was well equipped for everything we needed and the beds were the most comfortable that I've ever slept in at a rental before. 2 laundry rooms made freshening up the ski gear a dream with multiple families. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Summer Getaway

We’ve wanted to visit Maine for quite some time. We had never heard of Newry or Sunday River, but it was a wonderful trip. The house was beautifully secluded with plenty of room for the twelve of us to spread out. The kids were always in the large pool or hot tub and we spent a great deal of time at the outdoor bar. The house was ideal for our large group of various ages and was very close to hiking, swimming holes, the covered bridge, and breweries. It was a great week!

Ski weekend

We had a great time. Everyone had plenty of space to sleep and spread out. We took 11 young adults skiing with us. The dining tables were great because all of us could eat together. The firepit & hot tub were a hit after a long day on the slopes We would definitely rebook for a future trip. Drive to the mountain was easy as well. Kitchen was fully stocked & bathrooms had plenty of towels form our big group as well. Home is beautifully

Fabulous weekend stay

Staying at the mountain hideaway was such a great experience! Mark was extremely helpful and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. We had a cold front the weekend I stayed and he ensured the house was prepared for the weather and followed up on the temperature. The home is perfect for hosting large groups as well. The hot tub and pool table were great additions. We did have issues with keeping hot water in the showers but I’m assuming this was likely due to the negative degree weather. Overall 5 stars and I would definitely come stay again!

Family trip

This place is beautiful!! We had 13 people and there were still extra beds. A great place for large groups. The pool was the biggest hit, the hot tub was pretty great too! Location was wonderful. Its not far from a small grocery store, its down the street from a river we went swimming in. Lots of great hiking places!. We went to Santa's village about an hour away. Highly recommend if you have small children. The property manager, Mark, was very attentive. We had a problem with the bath water, Mark took care of that immediately. Very easy to work with, Thanks Mark! There's already talk about going back

Excellent Time at the Mountain Hideaway!

We had an event at the cabin with 10 family and close friends. What an amazing property! Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and (in spite of the fact that it rained nearly every day we were there) we had an amazing time.. I believe that we used every amenity that the place had.. We used the grills, We played board games, we watched movies, we cooked together (using both kitchens!!), we had billiard tournaments, we swam in the pool in the rain and also enjoyed the hot tub in the rain... This reunion could have been rained out, but it was not, in fact every attendee had a lovely time and was very impressed!. We loved it and will definitely stay again in either Summer or Winter.. Lovely, Lovely time!!!!!

A few things out of order

We stayed 3 nights for a girls weekend, 10 of us. The listing looked perfect and we were really excited for the house.During our stay we were a bit disappointed. The door handle on the storm door leading to the outdoor bar was loose/ broken, we had to prop it open or it couldn't open from the inside.There were a lot of wasps at the pool, 3 different people were stung. We were able to spray with Raid and that did seem to help for the 2nd day.The lights above outdoor bar were not working so it was pretty dark and not as nice as we'd imagined.The lower rack on the upstairs dishwasher as well as the lower freezer rack were both broken making it difficult to utilize both appliances.The outdoor seating around the firepit as well as barstools were all very loose / unstable. One actually completely collapsed.One bathroom had no cold water in the sink or tub, just scalding hot so it was mainly unusable.In general it's a great area and the house has some cool features but it's got some areas that could use improvement.

All through our planning stages Peak Properties was extremely responsive and helpful. When we had an icy walkway situation, they handled it very promptly, efficiently and politely. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The house was so clean and so well stocked. We have never had a house rental where there was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc. We always bring those items on our trip because there is inevitably never enough (especially being that it was an all women trip!). And we have been doing this trip for close to 40 years! I highly recommend this house (The Mountain Hideaway) and Peak Properties!! Thanks for a great stay!
