From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. The cottage is absolutely beautiful- clean and so well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing gateway all five nights. We especially loved the peaceful surroundings and that incredible view. We were looking for a special place to unwind and recharge and we found that there. The host is very thoughtful and kind!
We needed a short getaway to reconnect with nature: stars, sunrises, birds, bullfrogs, turtles, lightening bugs & loons. All good! The cottage has comfy beds and all you need to enjoy a lovely stay.
We had a great stay at this cottage! It somehow manages to feel both spacious and cozy at the same time. There are plenty of sleeping areas and two full bathrooms, but it still maintains a warm, cottage feel. What stood out the most to me was the location. The lake is large and peaceful, and the surrounding area is incredibly quiet. I loved riding my bike along the mix of country and gravel roads—no traffic to worry about. I even hopped on the nearby rail trail system and biked down to Kingston and back. If you're looking for a place to unwind, explore, and enjoy nature without the crowds, this is it.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage on Varty Lake. It was very quiet, the lake doesn't have a lot of cottages so there were only a few boats on the lake. It was a very relaxing stay.
Andrey was an amazing host and was very responsive. His cottage was a great cozy getaway on a small lake, with water toys available. He was very responsive to any questions I had and provided so many great recommendations for activities and food around the area.
Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to have a nice quiet weekend away!
Really enjoyed staying at Andreys place. I got all the information I needed in advance, the place was very clean, and beds comfortable. The place is exactly as listed and he was quick to respond to questions. Easy check in and out as well. If you’re going to cook, I might suggest bringing some kitchen items with you. Overall was a great stay!
Andrey was a very attentive host! Our group was sent recommendations for activities in the area, and all of our questions were answered quickly. Property is located on a lake with beautiful surroundings!
Our family enjoyed our stay here. Audrey is very responsive to inquiries. We didnt do many side trips just spent time at the lake and on the property. The lake is very peaceful. Thank you for hosting us.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this tranquil cottage. My granddaughter, who is 3 yrs old, had a blast at her first time fishing off the dock. The fire at night and the beautiful starlit sky made for great evenings. We will definitely be back.
Andrey's place provided exactly the relaxing environment we very much needed. Beautifully quiet and incredibly calm, the cottage is right on the lake with only crickets and geese greeting you in the morning and sending you off in the evening. Fishing from the dock was also very nice and the perfect escape from city stress.
We spent 4 days in this cottage and it was great: a quiet place with everything you need. We were able to canoe on the lake, teach our daughters how to make fire and discover 1001 islands.
Our host was very kind and took pleasure in showing us the best places in the area. He was available whenever we needed him and listened to our needs.
We recommend this place.
The cottage was cute and clean. Two beds were good, pullout couch was uncomfortable. The lake access was ok, somewhat challenging especially if there are mobility issues. We had a great time paddling the lake. Had a few furry friends come to visit, raccoon and bunny. It was nice to hear the loons. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We had an overall enjoyable time. The host was very responsive and helpful. Thanks again

Quiet place far from everything!
Nice quiet place. Little bit far from Kingston and restaurants, although trips to downtown K worth it. Better if you bring your own food unless you don’t mind to drive 30 minutes. You will have to take your trash with you. Nice beach at centennial park, great for kids. Love the lake and our canoe rides. Lots of wildlife that leaves natural fertilizer on grass, mind where you are walking! 😄
Beautiful cottage lovely place to stay. Plenty of local places to go. Host gave us lots of info on things to do in the area. 30 min drive into Kingston for tour of Kingston Pen. Only thing is can’t go swimming off the dock and beach down the road not much better. Dock a little wobbly. Fishing was amazing. Must take garbage with you no biggie but no garbage bags included so need to bring your own. Also bugs are horrible after dark so bring bug spray, but that seems to everywhere this year .
One of the best cottages you can find near Toronto
I should thank the landlord's hospitality. The cottage was very clean and well organized with a wonderful view! You can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, relaxing beside the fire, and hiking in a beautiful and quiet trails. It is also very close to the local stores if you need anything. Andrey answers your messages very fast and it is very easy to communicate with the property manager. The cottage had a very easy access to the main roads and it is equipped with a very good heating system. Therefore, it is not only a perfect place for warm seasons, we are planning to have another vacation there in winter. If you need a private area with peace and quiet to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature, I highly recommend this place!!
