We had an overall good stay at this secluded cabin. It’s a great property for larger groups and definitely does sleep up to 10 people comfortably. The kids especially loved the arcade and movie room, and even though the creek was low, it was still fun to explore. We also appreciated the extra touches like board games, first aid supplies, and some boxed/canned food items left for guests.There are a few things to be aware of. The driveway is very steep—be prepared and hold on tight going up and down. The kitchen was a bit under-equipped for a home that sleeps 10. We found it difficult to cook for a larger group due to the lack of larger items like mixing bowls, a large frying pan, and even the coffee cups were on the smaller side.Cleanliness was decent (around an 8/10), but for the cleaning fee, we expected a bit more attention to detail. There also weren’t enough towels provided initially for a group of 10, although we did find additional ones in the dryer on day three.Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but due to the kitchen limitations and a few inconveniences, we likely wouldn’t book this property again.

Long weekend

Listing was as described with lots for the children to do while the adults relaxed. The living room/kitchen set up was open and the wood burning fire provided a fantastic vacation escape feel. The downstairs was a little chilly but had plenty of heaters and blankets to stay comfortable.

The great outdoors

Nice property surrounded by trees. Ample sleeping areas and game room was fun. The house had everything we needed. 20 minutes or so from downtown Elijay with small shopping areas and restaurants. Even caught som fish in the creek. Campfire was also great and host was responsive. Just be careful on the driveway. It was a bit steep, but rocks gave good traction. Blackstone grill was pretty rusted, but functional. Would stay again. Had 2 families of 4 in there without space constraints.

Grandkids loved amenities-games, arcade, movie room, hot tub and fire pit!-made for a fun time!Home could be perfect with a little TLC-needs better finishes-paint, linen, etc.We enjoyed downtown Elijah-cute little town and ride up to higher mountains for scenic views was fun!

Great vacation 4th of July 2023

We had an amazing time. The owner made sure i got the code when we where at the house. This place was quiet and very easy to relax. The water was beautiful and relaxing and the covered bridge was a nice touch. The small town of Ellijah, GA was just quaint.

Escape from reality.

This modernized cabin in the woods is an amazing escape from the real world. At night the stars are so bright, it is so calm and quiet you can hear the creak at the bottom of the property. I will 100% be coming back again.

Fun Memories Made

Our three boys had such a blast. They didn’t want to leave. We made so many memories and will definitely be returning soon! The game room and hot tub was perfect. We all played the entire time. The beds were amazing. We all got such a good nights rest. The owners were so nice and answered and questioned we needed. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

This is a remarkable cabin with so many lovely extras…the spa, the outdoor seating, all the wonderful comfortable sofas inside, high-quality beds and bedding, beautiful warm soft throws and blankets, amazing frig, stocked kitchen cabinets, plenty of cutlery and dishes, pots and pans, nice laundry room, plenty of bathrooms, unique carriage bridge over the running stream up to house, hiking everywhere and yes oh yes, even sports and game room fun! Wow…I can’t say enough about the nicely decorated, family-oriented, feel-at-home place! Will definitely be back again!

Great place to stay!

Clean and comfortable. Plenty of room. Kids loved the basement with games and theater room. Hot tub available. Fire pit. Creek down the hill. All made for a very enjoyable stay. Kitchen well equipped with everything you would need. Warning-driveway is very steep! I'm not sure all vehicles could make it without 4-wheel drive or front- wheel drive. And creek is a good little hike down and back, but the kids loved the creek as well. Owner was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating.

Wonderful property with so much outdoor fun. We vacationed during January so very cold. We did a lot of hiking and exploring on the property. The creek was too cold to play in. The cabin itself was great. So much fun with all the games, arcade, air hockey, and basketball game. The jacuzzi was perfect as well. We have a 7 week old and a 2 year old and the high chair and pack n play were so helpful. The kids plates and utensils were so helpful as well. We were worried about the stairs with our 2 year old but there is a door on them that you could lock so no worry there. We'll definitely be back!

One of our favorite stays!

This cabin was so unique and well built, we loved everything about it! My favorite part of the house was the top floor reading nook! The kitchen was well stocked and there was an instapot and slow cooker as well as an air fryer. The downstairs was a favorite of the kids, there was so much to keep them entertained. They especially loved the movie room! We adults loved it because, once they were in the movie room, we didn’t hear a peep upstairs which gave us much needed quiet time. We also loved the creek down below that we could play in when we wanted days to stay in. We highly recommend visiting the Gennett Poplar (2nd largest in GA), Tumbling Waters Trail, and the Cartecay River Loop if you’re into hiking.

We made memories

We stayed at the Doolie cabin along with our friends. This cabin is very cozy,beautiful, ,well kept, clean and spacious with plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds . Surrounded with beautiful trees, birds , wild flowers and butterflies good for hiking.The best of all was the relaxing beautiful creek by the cabin where we sat with our feet in water, just listening to the sounds of the creek running and relaxing. This cabin also having many indoor sports and arcade for kids and also a theater, there is so much to do we didn’t get a chance to watch a movie in this theater.And at the end of the day we soaked and relaxed in the hot tub. We loved this place so much that we didn’t want to leave . Definitely will come back again and also going to recommend it to my family and friends. We made so many beautiful memories there.

The house is nice but….

My girlfriends and I found our visit would have been better if a few things had been a little better. The house itself was very spacious and beautiful. We definitely enjoyed that aspect. Linens could use updating but totally functional. Beds were firm but very comfy. The biggest issue we had was that all showers had poor water pressure and the water never got past lukewarm. The kitchen is not really equipped for cooking a nice meal. Minimal kitchen supplies and no wine glasses. The downstairs was colder than cold. There were space heaters but I don’t think it would have been safe to leave them on overnight. Overall it was really beautiful but I don’t think we’d rebook.

Book it!!!!

Our family had the best time in Ellijay! This cabin had everything and more that we needed. It is just a short drive to downtown Ellijay but absolutely secluded and plenty of land to explore! The kids loved the arcade games (Simpson bowling and Rampage were the favs!) and our youngest loved the large bin of Lego duplos and train table. We all enjoyed spending time down by the creek. We caught some small fish- with just a hook! The beds and furniture were all very comfortable, and the bathrooms are all redone and very beautiful.Our favorite day was spent at the nearby Fort Mountain State Park. We left the trail map in the guestbook under the “hiking” section. The West Overlook trail led to one of the most beautiful lookouts we’ve ever seen! Breathtaking views! It is in the same area as the old stone fire tower hike.Thank you to the owners for allowing us to rent the cabin! We truly had the BEST time!

Awesome Getaway

Where do I begin? The cabin is very home like and has a bunch of extras that come with it that includes but not limited to the outdoor spa, firepit, and the spectacular view. The place has plenty of sleeping room and the theater is great too which you don't see with other rentals. The cabin was very clean and updated but still had that feel that you are looking for when your out in the mountains. The game room is great for the kids. There is a creek near side to the cabin and the host was nice enough to include tubes to ride down it. The fire pit outside was great for the cold nights. If you have a Tesla that's a plus as well as it includes a on-sight charging station. It was nice having so much space outdoors as well with hiking right on the property and a volleyball net. I would recommend staying to friends and family and look forward to booking again in the future.

Lovely Place

My 3 sons, fiancé, and I stayed here for Spring Break/my 30th birthday. We did a little bit of everything. Went down to the creek and skipped rocks, had a movie night in the theater room (complete with popcorn), enjoyed the arcade games and train set (for my 3 year old), had some basketball shoot-outs on the hoop game, and played tons of air hockey. We also relaxed in the hot tub a couple of times. Kitchen is well equipped. The rooms are big and the living space is comfortable. I can tell this cabin is still in the works of a DIY renovation, but it didn't bother us. Everything that needed to be there, was there, and for the most part, everything looked good. We held a mini Easter egg hunt inside the house and it was awesome. Check-in and check-out was flawless.Thanks for having us! We'll be back!

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon than Doolies Cabin. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a private mountain sanctuary designed just for us. The location is stunning — surrounded by sweeping forest views and nestled right beside a peaceful creek that provided the perfect natural soundtrack to our stay.The cabin itself is the ideal blend of luxury and charm. With its soaring cathedral ceilings, thoughtful modern touches, and cozy rustic finishes, every space felt like it belonged on the cover of a design magazine — yet still incredibly warm and welcoming. The interiors were spacious but intimate, giving us room to relax, laugh, cook, and simply be together.One of our favorite parts was the private hot tub overlooking the trees. We spent our evenings there under the stars, unwinding after our adventures around Ellijay and the surrounding mountains. The bubbling creek just steps away brought so much peace, especially during morning coffee on the deck.The theater room was an unexpected bonus — we cozied up with popcorn and our favorite movies, feeling like we had our own private cinema. And although it was just the two of us, we appreciated the beautifully designed bedrooms and bathrooms — perfect for families or friends on a future trip.Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. Just minutes from downtown Ellijay, we loved being able to explore the local shops, grab a bite, and return to our quiet, romantic hideaway in the woods.Our stay at Doolies Cabin was more than just a getaway — it was the perfect start to our married life. Peaceful, scenic, luxurious, and unforgettable. We’re already dreaming of coming back for an anniversary.
