Beautiful, comfortable and quaint! The cottage was just as pictured and has lovely views. In addition to enjoying the modern cottage, we saw thousands of stars, a few loons and a resident turtle. There are lots of water crafts to enjoy on a very quiet lake. The games room and hot tub are an added bonus. *The only thing I want to note for others reading this, is that the walk down to the lake and the driveway is steep, and could be an issue for those with mobility concerns. We had a fantastic stay!

Amazing getaway !

We had a lovely time staying here for 3 nights. The cottage was modern, super clean and well equipped. Super nice and bright.Perfect spot for some R&R during the cold winter months. Hot tub and sauna were an added bonus.We would definitely recommend and look forward to booking here again

Excellent stay at “Ideal”

Place is exactly as shown-modern, clean and cozy. Location is nice and quiet with a great view of the lake. Communication with Mike was perfect. Highly recommended-was a perfect winter get away.

Perfect mini off-season vacation!

Nice, clean and modern little spot. Perfect for our family of 6. Obviously well taken care of property. Host responsive and helpful. Everything is working order and well maintaintained.Very muddly and steep entrance getting into property. Would recommend 4-wheel drove.

Wonderful northern oasis

My husband and I plus our pup had a great stay here! The cottage was PERFECT, beautiful views, lovely lay out and the hot tub and sauna were so relaxing! We would go back without a doubt! A very quiet lake making it super tranquil and a great place to unwind. Can’t wait to book here again in the future!

Amazing spot!!

We had the best time in Gooderham! Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful property & the lake was great too. The host was extremely responsive to all our questions & went above and beyond to help. We will certainly be back. The walk to the water is a little challenging and those of us who were pregnant/injured didn’t make it down to the water but still a fantastic stay. Thank you!!

Our 2 night stay was great. The quiet was just what we needed. Clean and very organized cottage. There was everything we needed already there (minus food & drink). There is a small store in Gooderham, & Minden or Haliburton were @ 30min away. The lake was calm and not busy. We didn't get a chance to use the Arcade, but there was foosball, darts and others games for kids. Hot tub was nice. Its only a 2 person (or 4 Kevin Harts). The sauna was nice. Took a bit to the fire going, but got it . Bathrooms, showers, were all clean and well supplied. Communication with owner was perfect. Email and emailed back.

Amazing cottage weeked

The cottage is clean and really well designed. Completely renovated and new, with lots of amenities (kayaks, paddle boards, for pits, full Laundry, etc). The 2 washrooms was also an added bonus which is rare to find in a cottage. No hot tub / whirl pool, but not a big deal in the summer. Mike was super responsive and answered any questions within a few minutes. The only downside is the lake is a little mucky right off the dock, but didn’t prevent us from enjoying the water. Lake is also very quiet with some cottages on either side, but empty woods across. Perfect place, would 100% recommend.

Beautiful Property

The Cottage was really nice, clean, cozy and comfortable. All of the necessities were provided, including Linens, Towels and cleaning supplies. The view from the large deck is incredible and we loved the extended dock, which gave the dock a couple of hours extra sun compared to the other docks on the lake. Speaking of the lake, it was a beautiful lake, we had the experience of exploring with the many water toys provided. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy for half of our stay, but the days with the nicer weather more than made up for it, not to mention there was nothing short of things to do inside the cottage during the rain. All in all, my partner, our dog and myself really enjoyed our time at this cottage, and would definitely like to stay again. Thank you!

Worst Birthday Ever

In the summer this property may be nice, but we didn't rent in the summer. I have rented intermittently from Vrbo over a decade and have had consistent positive experiences, giving overall ratings of 5 on all previous stays.1.The parking area assigned was too icy to enter and exit and the part of the driveway that went down to the house was unplowed and at an extreme angle of height so we had to park on the driveway. This required walking down 150 feet of a snowy and icy hill that led to my kids slipping and falling at times. 2. The porch and step were covered in three inches of ice and the plastic shovel was not sufficiently strong to break the ice. The porch, rather than the deck, is the accessway to the whirlpool, sauna and games room. The entry was unsafe.3. Large icicles were above the entrance but these could be knocked down with the shovel. While unsafe this was solvable.4. When I turned on the gas at the tank for the barbecue, a hissing sound could be heard and smell of gas suggesting leakage. I tightened the connection which did not alter the situation. I switched tanks as per the owner's suggestion and tried again which did not alter the situation. I've used barbecues for over 40 years and not had such an experience. Not safe.5. We arrived on my son's birthday and he called it the worst birthday ever. Given the numerous hazards we stayed one night only. Never had such experience previously at Vrbo. Pictures show parking area, hill and porch.

Great Place and Lake!

We just finished our week long stay. The cottage and lake were both excellent. The cottage is newly built with all modern amenities, including laundry. The beds were comfortable and sheets were new and clean. There were TVs in 2/3 bedrooms + living room connected to many streaming services. The internet was decent for being in such an isolated area. There were also ceiling fans in every room to keep things cooler along with the windows open in the heat of the day. The deck was quite large and great to sit on and look out through the glass railings from such a high vantage point. The lake was really nice for fishing, swimming and boating. It's about 4-5 feet deep off the dock with a mud bottom, but the water is quite clear of sediment. There were more than enough water toys included to keep anyone entertained. There wasn't much power-boat traffic on the lake either, which I found nice. All the neighbours were very friendly too. I'll note that the driveway access is very steep when driving down to the front of the cottage from the road. Having a 4wd vehicle is a must to be able to drive right to the door. Otherwise, it's possible to park at a higher point, but it would mean hauling all travel materials down a sleep slope by hand. It's also a rather steep slope from the cottage down to the water, but there are built in stone steps which makes the walk up and down easier. All in all I'd highly recommend this place. I will be seeking to book again for next year.
