Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our future guests ! Key Colony Beach really is the "gem by the ocean." And the tiki hut, which is not so common in Key Colony Beach, along with the mature coconut trees provides a very tropical feel to the property. We strive to provide exemplary accommodations for all our guests. We know your vacation time is valuable, and want to provide an environment for a truly pleasurable, effortless free vacation. We are so sorry you had to deal with the stuck hose nozzle. Unfortunately this is common in salt conditions. If you had contacted us, we would have had our property manager promptly take care of the problem. He keeps a supply of extra hoses and nozzles. We are aware that the middle post is shorter than the others, and it is on the list to have replaced. Unfortunately with Covid, the list is quite long for post replacements and requires approval from the army core of engineers, so it will take sometime. All the other posts are in excellent condition, and our guests usually tie their board to these posts. We have been advised against Installing cleats on the posts because it can compromise the post structure.

The mattress is in great condition, and the Tiki lights/fan were working. If only the guests would have phoned us - as we encourage in our Welcome binder and pre-arrival instructions, we could have reminded them where the Tiki switch was (by the sliding glass door) !! We also would have come over immediately if they reported a problem with the mattress. We pride ourselves on providing good quality mattresses and bedding. It is important to us that our guests have a good nights sleep !! As it turns out, the mattress is in great condition, but evidently prior guests had such excessive weight on the bed that the middle support for the King bed broke !! Since the prior guests had just checked out and hadn't reported a problem, we were unaware there was a problem. It wasn't until after these guests left that they reported a problem with the mattress. We immediately investigated. When we looked under the bed, the problem was obvious. Imagine our surprise to see the 5 inch metal supports in the middle of the bed, bent !! Within half an hour we installed new supports, and the next guests checking in have been sleeping soundly on the luxurious master king bed mattress. We appreciate that some guests do not want to be a "bother", but you have planned your vacation in advance and set aside this time "for you"! No concern is too small, even if you are having trouble with the TV remote, or finding a fan switch. And especially if a basic furnishing is not working properly. Please presume that everything is working and should be working, and CALL IMMEDIATELY if not. We are happy to talk with you, especially at the beginning of your much needed vacation, to make sure everything is to your satisfaction for your entire stay. In this case, a 5 minute phone call and 1/2 hour handyman visit would have resolved all concerns and provided our usual five star vacation experience. Sitting out by the canal under the Tiki lights at night is one of the many highlights of this property.
