Waterfront cottage on Georgian Bay in the Blue Mountains on Lora Bay Golf Course
Our renovated 4bdrm viceroy cottage sits on the edge of the gorgeous blue waters of Georgian Bay with big windows overlooking an incredible view.
Families will enjoy sitting at the end of the private dock watching the sun and moon rise off the horizon or while enjoying a roaring fire around the built in stone fire pit.
Kayaks and paddle boards provided for kids. Relax in the hot tub overlooking the water or play a round of golf on the Lora Bay golf course in our back yard. Walk the sandy beach of Christie Beach down the road or skip rocks off your own private pebble beach. The lake has a rock bottom so there are no weeds to wade through. Just crystal blue water right to the bottom.
Enjoy a fire in the stone outdoor fire pit or light a fire in the indoor wood burning fireplace that takes centre stage in the cottage.
As for the cottage itself: large windows look out to the bay and make you feel on the water inside. A modern renovated kitchen awaits with granite counter tops and modern but comfortable furniture.
Sleeping arrangements: The Master bedroom has a view to the lake and a private ensuite bathroom fully equipped with stand up shower and separate tub. Ample space to add a cot or an extra mattress on the floor for a toddler / child. The 2nd garden view bedroom has a double bed comfortable for two adults and also a toddler on a floor mattress if needed or crib. The 3rd bedroom has a single bed perfect for a youth/ single adult or child. (It does have a trundle bed to add another person if needed; please let us know so we can organize extra mattress). The 4th bedroom has a garden view and also doubles as an office with large walnut french sliding doors to soundproof if needed. This room has an elegant sofa that folds down to a single bed. We add a mattress on top to make it super comfy. Gorgeous morning sun streams in the window and privacy from the gardens / trees. There is a second fully equipped bathroom close to all three bedrooms that guests in these three bedrooms would use.
Feel at home in our home. Monthly stays only allowed in our area (30 days is the town of blue mountain policy). We are on the golf course and most people live here so not a good house for parties. A good house for amazing dinner parties and responsible fun - family vibe.
We are a 10 minute drive from Blue Mountain Village, 20 minutes from Collingwood and 2 minutes into the town of Thornbury which has excellent restaurants, an lcbo and grocery store that feels like whole foods. Lots of galleries in the area and hikes along the Bruce trail. Cycling is also a big thing in our area along the many rolling country roads. Hospital is a 9 minute drive into meaford.
We also have a basketball pad , lots of kids bikes , paddle boards and kayaks, an adult bike and large spring free trampoline for kids. Bike rentals are easy to organize in town also.
Parking for 3 cars and a Tesla charger.
Central air conditioning and heating.
Weekly house cleaning is a must ($150 week) and garden/lawn maintenance ($100 bi-weekly) ; hot tub also at $50/week. Laundry washer /dryer on site. Generator kicks in if electricity is out so you can keep on going! Irrigation for gardens. Water is municipal so you can drink from the tap! Municipal garbage pick up comes Tuesdays. Bbq is connected to a gas line so no need to refill.
