The cabin was clean, cozy and inviting. The location was very quiet and peaceful. The host was very attentive and replied to messages promptly. The cabin was stocked well and had everything we needed. The only thing that we had to get used to was the water. It had a slight metallic (iron) odor when washing dishes and showering. I'm not sure if there's a way to correct it, but it would not prevent me from booking this stay another time. I would highly recommend this location if you are looking to book a relaxing getaway.

Our stay was peaceful during the week, however Friday evening there was some extremly loud tenants in the camp grounds across the street. The river levels were too low to enjoy boatong or fishing.

Overall my sister and I had a great stay here, we had everything we needed. The front deck was not pleasing to the eye. It needed cleaned up and fixed in places. It was quiet for the most part, we did hear some traffic. It was clean inside and felt cozy, the beds were ok, a little noisy when moving. The water was irony and had a smell so bring your own water. Fire pit worked out great. Overall it was a good place to stay.

We liked the quiet of the cabin located in a wooded area no other cabins around. My chihuahua mix liked not having to be on a leash in the yard. We liked having recliners to sit in. Relaxing in front of a gas fireplace warming our toes. What I did not like was cleaning air fryer, microwave and Keurig coffee maker before we could use them. Oven was very dirty. Water was smelly and bad tasting. Jetted tub could not be used. One toilet water ran continously leaving a coating of nasty orange all over the bowl.

The cabin itself was nice, was just not clean or kept up, there was bird poop 1/4 in thick on the chairs outside, holes in the porch deck, the front deck was so dirty you wouldn't sit out there , shower curtain was nasty, went to use air fryer was a stink bug in it and dirty, The dishes were not clean had to wash them to use them, the grill outside was worn out, however the people working at the store were nice.

The inside of the cabin was cute. The only issues we had were the toilet in the master bedroom was not clean and there were mouse droppings throughout the cabin. It was a pet friendly but no warning about the Decon mouse poison that was placed under beds and in the closet which could have been very bad for our babies if we didn’t see them. The chairs on the deck were covered with bird droppings as well. We did enjoy our stay though. Oh and the water could be fixed with new pipes our at least a filter.

Very private cabin in the woods

If you are not used to WV water, bring your own. Wifi was sufficient but i had no phone signal for about 2-5 miles outside of the cabin (T-Mobile). Very comfortable beds and couches. Kitchen was nicely stocked with the basic utensils. Grilled several nights and even used the fire pit to cook one night.

Getaway

We went hiking in the area, the place was pretty clean, would have liked a few more kitchen pots and pans, utensils, crock pot etc. We cooked every day at the cabin and had to improvise a little and no grill tools available. Loved the cabin and location, that wouldn't deter me from going back, just would have made things easier. Great place overall.

Cabin review

We came to WV to view the autumnal beauty and we were not disappointed. Our cabin was cozy and comfortable with all the amenities for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The cabin was well equipped with Pioneerwoman dinnerware, pots and pans, refrigerator, and stove. Cabin was one level with a washer/dryer combination. Cabin was clean and decorated with a patriotic theme. Evenings were very quiet with a picturesque view of the night sky. If you forgot anything there was a general store a very short distance from the cabin.

Cute Cabin, Friendly

We enjoyed our stay and the cabin was comfortable for our group of four and two small dogs. We walked to the general store and ordered pizza to take back to the cabin and the cabin was well stocked with what was needed to cook breakfast each day. We did not see a coffee pot but there is a keurig, so bring your coffee pods. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice cabin but need work

Stayed there for a weekend. First, heard water dripping in the guest bathroom so we went in and noticed a large red stain in the tub. We couldn’t get the water to shut off. In the main bedroom, neither lamp worked (one even without a bulb). We tried shutting the blind but it was too short to cover the whole window. The bed made so much noise that when you turned, it woke your partner up. The coffee machine was a Keurig even thought the listing said coffee pot, so we couldn’t make coffee. The blinds on the main door were broken all the way down so we had to leave them at half. The water had a really bad smell to it, and the soaking tub didn’t work (it did say that in the listing. We will not be staying there again, especially at $225 a night due to the fees. Definitely expecting something much nicer.

On a busy road

The cabin was nice. It would have been nice if the tub worked. The cabin was not super clean, they should hire a new cleaning company. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not it during the day. There is a busy road out front. They also no longer rent kayaks...so having the river right there was nice but not having kayaks to use was kind of a bummer.

Cozy cabin with river access

Cabin was comfortable and homey, plenty of amenities, and walkable river access. We didn’t love sharing our space with the mice, but they are bound to be around given the remoteness of the location.

Perfect long weekend getaway

We loved our stay! The property was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Great nearby places to eat. We never did find the recommended grocery store but we did find another. lol. Would 100% stay here again.
