Such a cozy place in the mountains of WV. Very happy with this entire trip.Our family of 4 enjoyed a peaceful stay.Our boys played football in the yard and we loved starting an evening campfire.

What a treat this place was for a long weekend! The host was thoughtful with the extras from the garden, eggs from the coop, and an artistic welcome. Definitely a favorite stay for us!

Everything was wonderful. Sherry made our dog Max feel like a King. Very pet friendly. The view is wonderful and we are booked for our anniversary. We can't wait to come back.

This was absolutely the best place we have ever stayed! It was so quaint and lovely. The hosts were great! It was very clean. They supplied all the little extras that you don't think to bring. It was the best!

Ut was the cutest little olace. Very clean and organized right near town so easy access getting in and out also to the river.

Beautiful mountain setting, in a fairly remote location. Cabin was immaculately clean and tidy. Pet friendly, brought my dog with me. He enjoyed the basket of dog toys and treats! This host thought of everything, even kindling wood in the encloses firewood box. I would definetly recomend this cabin!

Very clean place with outstanding, very nice owners. The cabin has all the amenities you need and more. Wifi is good and YouTube TV. The road up to it from Parsons is long and winding but worth it. With a little luck you'll see bears like we did, almost guaranteed to see deer.

What a great find. This place was perfect for our weekend getaway. Secluded enough for maximum privacy, but central to all attractions in the area. They are very pet-friendly. Our German Shepherd enjoyed the basket of dog toys and ample place to run. We even arrived to an array of farm-fresh veggies. The house is very well stocked and has everything you need for a great, relaxing break. We will return.

Mountain Hideaway

Amazing cabin nestled on the side of the mountain over looking the small creek below. No neighbors and amazing hosts!!!! Nicest folks around. Don’t pass up the opportunity to have a super relaxing get away.

Beautiful Barracks

From the moment we booked until the moment we left our experience was exceptional! The property was exactly as described and more so. The owners are a fantastic couple and the perfect hosts. We took our pup with us and she felt right at home! We had farm fresh eggs and fresh blueberries and strawberries waiting for us upon arrival. They have literally thought of everything! We will absolutely book again!

Peaceful Respite

This quiet getaway was exactly what we were looking for, two days of peace and quiet with a little bit of hiking and sightseeing. The wrap around porch provided a great place to meditate, the living space was quite comfy, and the cabin was stocked with all the basics for grilling and cooking. Check-in and check-out was a breeze! Our favorite part was the shower, very unique and that our dogs felt welcomed ( they settled in quickly and enjoyed the stay as much as we did). Almost Heaven

The cabin was very nice & clean. Sherry & Okey makes you feel like family with the fresh eggs & salads they provided for us. If you do have a dog like we do they also make the dog feel very welcomed. I would most definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who wants peace & quiet & a beautiful view of the mountains.

Clean and cozy!

You can instantly tell how much work and love that was put into this lovely little cabin. We were looking for a weekend getaway and it couldn’t have gotten any better. You’ll have a good half hour drive to get anywhere but that suits us just fine. I can definitely see us coming back!

We had an amazing time!!

What a wonderful little cabin!!! Close to tubing and ice skating! The kids had a blast! The only thing I would pass on to future visitors is to make sure you write down the door code and directions before you get on the mountain. You will lose service before you get to the cabin and have access to their great WiFi!! There was great communication between the owners and myself! Lovely little getaway! Thank you!

Almost Heaven

The Barracks are nestled on Dry Fork Road centrally located within a 30-50 minute drive to Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls to name a few. The mountain roads are narrow and winding, with incredible views around every curve. The cabin itself has everything a single traveler up to a larger group (family) could possibly need. Although we did not travel with our dog this time, the cabin is pet friendly. Sherry and Okey are inviting and kind- we had the opportunity to chat with them about the area and the cabins history. There is an activity for about anything outdoorsy, the culture and vibe in the small mountain towns is full of hospitality and history. We definitely left a little piece of hearts in West Virginia.
