Penthouse with the Best Tamarindo View

Truly breathtaking from the interior design to the best sunsets & sunrises!! The location is right smack in the city center you can just walk across the beach to restos and a pool with a bar. You can dine out or cook with complete amenities and utensils one can ever need. True to the description above it is truly very hard to leave!

The apartment was perfect for our two family vacation. The split level gave each family privacy while also allowing us to hang out together in the living room to play games and eat meals together. The place was well stocked with beach towels, bath towels and kitchen items. It was a quick walk to the beach. Views of the sunset from both patios were breathtaking! The only issues we had were upon arrival as the security guard was not made aware of us ahead of time and required a printed contract (which we didn’t have with us) and the keycards provided for the gate did not work. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay!

Matapalo is a luxury condo complex which sits behind the Diriá resort in the center of Tamarindo. Fantastic walk ability to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We worked with Stay in Tamarindo property managers and our concierge, Adrianna, was extremely responsive and helpful- from booking rides, dining and excursion reservations to facilitating our pre-arrival grocery order and a simple maintenance request. Unit was comfortably furnished and offered incredible views of the coastline. The ONLY downside of our location, according to my adult children- was a lack of nightlife in the area. The complex has plenty of amenities including a lovely pool. Be sure to say hello to the condo cat, Crystal.

Wonderful stay in Tamarindo

Our family of 6 adults and 1 3 yr old child stayed at this wonderful condo in Tamarindo. The condo is huge! It is beautiful and very well decorated and appointed. The ocean views are wonderful and the location is in the middle of Tamarindo within easy walking distance to the beach, shopping and many resturants. The pool facility at the property is outstanding for families and had a swim up bar and many shallow areas for us to play with our 3 year old. Adrianna, the concierge was wonderful. She assisted us with arranging a chef to prepare a meal at our condo. What a meal, it was wonderful! She also helped us arrange a private boat trip for an afternoon sunset cruise. The boat trip was fantastic, lots of food, all the drinks you could want, beautiful views, snorkeling and a fantastic sunset on the water! We would highly recommend this property.

Multigenerational Trip

The space fit our needs; however, I feel the concierge recommendations were off base (except or shuttle service to and from hotel, which were excellent). I specifically inquired about horseback riding before booking and asked whether or not the horses were taken care of because I had read some bad reviews about it. The concierge services specifically responded “that my providers are not like the providers that provide the horseback riding services that you see on the beach.“ When we arrived, in fact, after a 30 minute drive, we realize that our horseback riding tour took off from and returned to a beach location, where the horses had no water and nothing to eat. There was one guide for six people, and it was clear the horses were agitated by the end of the trip. In addition, I rented two golf carts for six people, one of which showed up a day late and the other, which really didn’t work. I was told that I would be prorated a return on the one day of the late golf cart, and they have gone silent on me. I understand this is not a reflection of the property; however, the property description includes five star concierge services, and if they are standing behind these providers, I suggest they take another look. This significantly affected our entire assessment of the property description.
