Great place to stay! Lots of natural light, a spacious open-concept layout, and a comfortable atmosphere. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend!

The cottage is very spacious and bright during the day! It is private, serene and secluded where one can truly experience some relaxation, peace, and tranquility! We were a group of 6 friends and booked the cottage for 3 nights from Sep 17-20, 2026. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend it! :)Some additional lighting at night, particularly in the living room area and the shower area, would be nice :)

What a wonderful stay out this cabin style cottage. The location was perfect for outdoorsy activities and not too far from Ottawa and Gatineau! The space was perfect for a family of 5. The space was well AC during the hot days and the layout was great for playing board games (available at the site) or reading a book! As well, the wildlife was amazing! We saw turkeys, rabbits, foxes and deer. It was a beautiful getaway!

The house itself is welcoming and comfortable, and a great place to hang out for humans and dogs both. The property was really fun to explore with our kids, and there's lots to do in the area!

Most of the house was clean, but the fridge, microwave and stove was dirty and those are the things you use to put food in and to cook it.It a real nice area and the yard and big and quiet, but around the house there should be a good cleaning, cutting the high grass in the back of the house, it looks spooky.There was only one face cloth left.

Host was very helpful, and the house met our expectations.Very quiet and on a dead-end street which eliminated most traffic. Great if you own a dog like we do. Fun place for a dog.

Great, very private house in a lovely location! Plenty of space for three adults and a teenager. We brought our dogs and enjoyed strolling with them up and down the quiet road. Lovely fire pit and grill was great to have. Only 30 minutes into Ottawa as well as to Gatineau National Park. Tim Horton’s only minutes away

Cabin

Spacious comfortable cabin with all the amenities of home. Groceries and restaurants close by. Lots of fun games to choose from as you relax with friends or family.

Lovely Val-des-Monts location

This is a wonderfully quiet property just a few minutes from the center of Perkins, yet isolated from its neighbors. I was traveling with my dog and it was a good location for the two of us. The owners were friendly and responsive.

Great nature experience!

Fantastic home in the woods, great rustic feeling the second you come in. Everything about the check-in and check-out process is easy and all issues with the home were communicated before hand. Fantastic home with lovely scenery!

Beautiful Cottage and Lovely Property, Escape to Nature

The cottage was absolutely comfortable and beautiful, one of a kind! Very clean, well stocked, amazing sheets and blankets (high end hotel feel); we enjoyed our stay here very much. The property is gorgeous and teeming with wildlife. We saw deer, fox, bunnies, and so many different types of birds right from the cottage and during our walks on the trails. We would definitely stay again, and would highly recommend it to others!

Hidden Gem

I booked this beautiful chalet for my wife and I to celebrate our 20 year marriage anniversary. The booking went well and our host Sarah was a real pleasure to communicate with. She even went so far as to leave us a gift bag and card for our celebration. I definitely recommend this chalet for anyone who wants to get away and enjoy the area. Idyllic Winter Weekend Away

Our adult family of four celebrated my sister-in-law's milestone birthday over 3 nights at this property. We had an amazing time. The property was as described, owner was easy to talk to and responsive and the surroundings were beautiful. We were able to take advantage of proximity to Ottawa, local Ski Hills and Nordik Spa. Extra touches were made by the owner to be sure we were comfortable (including extra instructions book, coffee pods, some snacks). I enjoyed the extra care taken to add privacy to the loft and living room if needed through the addition of curtains. This addition also helped with minimizing light in the morning so we weren't woken up too early. We had a considerable amount of snow over the weekend and someone came and plowed the driveway before we were even awake. Note that the water pressure is quite low, but this is normal for a property of this type and we were able to manage just fine. We would love to come back again in the winter, but could see how it would be a great property in the summer as well.

Neglect

At first glance this property look lovely. Then you realize that the grasses are so tall My 110 lbs dog disappeared in it, so did huge standing rocks and tree stumps, that he encountered (hard) as he romped. The “driveway” portrayed in the pictures, leading to the trail, is an overgrown swamp. After numerous attempts to get to the trail in the woods, we had to give up- and this trail was the main reason we rented this property. Around the buildings are piles and piles of garbage , some material sharp and dangerous. And in the cottage itself, nearly everything you go to use, is broken. There are two showers, the upstairs shower head is not useable just hanging down, the handheld Works. In the downstairs shower, there is no mixing battery so it’s with freezing cold or boiling hot. And so on and on and on. We made the best of it, because that’s how we are. But we would never return.

I am sorry that you were not happy with our property. I was very surprised to see this review as you told me you loved the property and your dog was having a great time. I was not contacted about anything being broken or any issues. Both showers work, but the downstairs one is a bit backwards, so if you had contacted me, I'd have told you how to use it. I am not aware of anything broken in the house and would have come immediately to fix anything if you had let us know. In terms of the forest, we have had an extremely high amount of rainfall this year, which has made the ground very wet and the first portion of the path is wetland that is normally much dryer at this time of year. The grass is long as it's countryside and pollinators need the wildflowers etc. The property is a former hobby farm, so there is some leftover farming items (chicken coop, plant pots, etc) but there is no garbage. Above all, I wish you had contacted me during your 4 night stay to rectify any issue you perceived as we asked you to let us know of you had questions or concerns right from the beginning and we are extremely responsive and quick to help our guests with anything they need.

Le chalet est impeccable ormis la douche de l'étage toujours pas réparé. Mais l'aspect extérieur est complètement différent des photos de l'annonce, pelouse négligé, gazebo sans fillet anti-moustique, feu de camps moins accessible que sur les photos on voit que la végétation reprend l'avantage. Hote super et rapide à interagir.
