Heat did not work in house other than 2 small wall heaters. I advised the host and she was no help. The temp in living room was 50 degrees when we got up!Outside temp was about 22. I had a thermometer. Host said thermostat was set at 60. Thermostat was behind a piece of furniture and not visible! Elevator to upstairs inoperative. This was the worst vrbo I have ever experienced! We left a day early and advised the host with voice-mail before we left. Terrible vrbo experience!

Upstairs a little more clean up more, my allergies acted up. Difficult to open to unlock the door. Overall it was a good stay. The rooms were spacious. The view was great.

The condo itself is in a great location with a well appointed kitchen. It was a bit awkward that for as much furniture as is stuffed into the living area, there's not a single coffee table or end tables near the sofa on which to sit a drink, etc Whomever does the cleaning actually only seems to "surface clean", as we found bits of dried noodles, cookies, etc under the edges of cabinets... And even found a pill of medicine on the floor. Underneath the furniture and beds look as though they haven't been vacuumed, mopped or dusted in at least a year. Previous guests had left personal belongings (toiletry bag, socks, etc) in closet that hadn't been discovered and removed during the previous "cleaning" prior to our arrival.We still enjoyed our stay, but owner should be aware of the insufficient cleaning job they are paying someone to do.

Weekend meeting

This was a great halfway meeting spot for our family. We found it very comfortable and cozy. It is a bit quirky and different than what you would expect but that’s not a bad thing. I would have preferred darker curtains in the upstairs bedroom because it does not block out the street light that is right outside the window and sunlight shines through early in the morning. Also the bathroom off the living room is a tight fit so be prepared for that. There is no need really to have a sink in that bathroom since the kitchen is right there with a sink. Overall I found it to be a cute and quaint little place

This is an unusually decorated and designed apartment. My wife enjoyed it immensely.I am a large man. It is impossible to get to the toilet on the main floor and very uncomfortable in the basement bedroom. The refrigerator did not work. Apparently it did not work for the previous renter. We were not warned. The downstairs staircase handrail had no support on one end, hence useless.The lass who was our contact was very nice and tried to be helpful, but apparently could not authorize repairs. The owner needs to spend some money on this place. It could be very nice. At least, warn people about the problems.Not for me.

This was the worst property we have ever rented through VRBO. Usually yhe properties are great, but this add was very misleading. The property does NOT look like the pictures. The inside is dark and dreary, over-crowded with random, mismatched pieces of furnifure. Very weird, dark finishings throughout the house. It was not cleaned, there were stains on some of the table runners cob webs and spiders in the basement bedroom, the dish drain was filthy, the fridge smelled of old food, remotes didnt work and several other just irritating findings. The decor was super off-setting, and so overstimulating it was impossible to relax. The balcony is small, needs some attention, rusted railing etc... The only positive thing I can say is the view of the golf course, and watching the wildlife. Communication with the concierge started out fair, but then after sharing our grievances, they stopped responding and never gave any solutions or asssitance to our issues. This property needs a lot of work. In its current state, I DO NOT recommend it.

The garbage disposal smelled of shrimp shells rotting. It took an hour or more just to get the smell out of the house. The little chair with the red cushions by the patio door was covered in red bugs because my sister was eaten up by them after she took her shower. After the fish smell was gone and we came back to the home the next day the house just melt, musty and moldy, like it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. It just looked like it needed some tender, loving care and regular upkeep.

Disappointed

The property was a bit bizarre. The main concerns were the amount of furniture in the property made it difficult to move around comfortably. The water closets on the main floor and the basement bedroom were atrocious. They were so small and it was very uncomfortable. When I sat down in the one downstairs, my knees hit the door! The one on the main level had a sink/vanity that made it impossible to sit without twisting around!

Great find in Cloudcroft, NM

Comfortably and excellent for our multi-generational family due to upstairs bedroom and walkout basement bedroom. Eclectic decor and furnishings were comfortable and fun. Well appointed and easy to check in and check out. This is a condo unit and parking was very convenient and adequate.

Fantastically eclectic place!

You would never know it from the outside, but this place is so fantastically eclectic on the inside. The only way I can describe it is Spanish galleon meets medieval castle. My only suggestion would be to bring your own pillows as the ones provided are terrible. But besides that one little thing, I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone staying in Cloudcroft.

Interesting Place

We knew it was an eclectically decorated property and that was definitely true! But we pay a little more for a VRBO to enjoy the COMFORT of a home-like setting. This condo was lacking in those comforts. The kitchen was poorly appointed for cooking and the quality of what utensils and bowls and pans was poor.Other VRBO properties we’ve enjoyed provided lists of local places to visit or restaurants, and some small amenities. Here the only amenity was a big can of Kirkland coffee. No welcome notes or instructions on how to use anything (not everyone knows how radiant heaters work!).No bath accessories, no tissue. One bath towel and one washcloth for each of us for two nights and these were haphazardly tossed in a bathroom cabinet.One of the downstairs space heaters was not working. The upstairs bath had a single functional towel hook.Lack of window coverings or only sheers that don’t cover the windows was disconcerting and we struggled with light intrusion in the upstairs bedroom. While we enjoyed the art and furniture crammed into every nook and cranny here, we really didn’t find it to be a comfortable place at all and would not stay here again. .

Quick Off-Season Stay

We chose a non-hotel experience for that vacation feel, and paid a little more for that reason. We knew this location was decorated in an interesting way and looked forward to that. It didn’t disappoint. That said, it was really not a comfortable stay. It was basically a place to sleep, kind of a stone-lined shell of a condo.The kitchen was very poorly appointed for cooking.Cobwebs in lights in all rooms but clean otherwise. Only amenity was coffee. No bath accessories, no facial tissue (e.g. Kleenex)One bath towel and one washcloth for each of us for two nights and these were haphazardly flung in a bathroom cupboard.One of the downstairs space heaters was not working. No guides for local restaurants or activities.Instructions on heater lacking - not everyone knows how radiant heat works.Towel hooks in upstairs bath weren’t enough for two towels.Lack of window coverings or only sheers that didn’t cover the windows.It felt like we stayed in a castle crammed full of unique furniture, and the owners didn’t much care about the needs or comfort of their guests. A unique experience but we wouldn’t repeat it.

Wonderful property in quiet area

Eclectic condo in a quiet area. Wife and I rented it for a quick day trip to white sands. Condo has just the basics for the kitchen but we mostly ate out in town. We were pretty pleased with the accomodations.

Enjoyable getaway

Wonderful location just outside of Cloudcroft. The views were great and enjoyed watching the deer. We were a family of six. As stated there were enough beds to accommodate six, but the linens available did not meet our needs. Very eclectic furnishings and would have been great for a smaller party. Communication with the designated host went well and we appreciate the accommodation. If you plan on cooking full meals, you'll need mixing bowls and pans. The oven looks pretty new, but did not work consistently. Wonderful hot water pressure in the showers!Overall we had a very nice, relaxing weekend away.
