SUPER LOCATION 2 King BR, 2 BA, Shuffleboard, MultiCade, Board Games, Puzzles, Electronic Darts, Hot Tub, Gold Package cable, Sleeps 6, Quiet, located on a private cul-de-sac. 3 Miles from Pigeon Forge, 4 miles from Gatlinburg... the best of both worlds!

** If you are a spontaneous kind of person and want to book "same day", please send an inquiry and I will be happy to accommodate you if possible. The VRBO site will not allow same day bookings, but if the cabin is available, I can manually book you from the owner's side of VRBO. **

VINTAGE RETREAT was thankfully spared by the wildfires of 2016, and is even more special to us now. We were very fortunate to not have suffered the damage and loss that so many people experienced, and are STILL working to recover from. Thank you for your continued prayers, and thank you for supporting the businesses and people by your visit to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Great Smoky Mountains National Park area.

When you walk in the door, the first thing you will notice is the eclectic and whimsical furnishings which decorate the cabin in an “old timey” and “what in the world is this?” fashion. Can you name and identify some of the “stuff” you discover? Do you remember some of the items from days of long ago? Did your mother or grandmother use some of the things you’ll discover here & there? But don’t worry! This cabin has all the modern conveniences and upgrades one could ever need. There are no steps going up to the porch and entry, so this is great cabin for anyone with physical challenges, or for those who dislike having to climb a flight of stairs to get to the porch & front door.

Even though you are nestled in a private, quiet cabin, you are only 5 – 8 minutes from Pigeon Forge, and only 10-12 minutes from Gatlinburg. The Arts & Crafts community is also just a short drive over the mountain via the “short cut” or “back way”. Don’t worry about having to navigate the scary, narrow roads up the steep side of a mountain. VINTAGE RETREAT is only 5 minutes from the main highway (The Spur), yet is quiet, has beautiful mountain views, and is easily accessible.

The cabin offers a main level wrap-around porch, extending around three sides, with a screened in hot tub porch in the middle. There are glider chairs, benches and rockers providing plenty of relaxing sitting space. The second floor boasts a covered deck, complete with swing and other seating. Enjoy the sunrises and moonrises from either of the covered decks, and experience the peace and serenity of Mother Nature. Listen to Big Branch in the holler below as it bubbles and trickles before flowing into King Branch. You’ll hear “peepers”, owls, whippoorwills, and various other sounds of nature. Canada geese regularly fly up the valley to the community lakes just up the road. If you’re lucky, you may see some of our woodland critters, including black bear, raccoons, rabbits, deer, squirrels and possums. (Please DO NOT feed any of the animals!)

Each king bedroom is complete with a jetted, in-room Jacuzzi spa tub, and has its own separate bathroom, complete with hand-held showers and hair dryers. The beds are super comfortable, and the linens & pillows are new, and non allergenic. The mattresses and pillows have zippered, (non-vinyl) protectors, and the mattresses have comfy, padded mattress pads. Each bedroom has its own flat-screen, DVR HD TV plus DVD player. Bedroom 1 is on the main level, bedroom 2 is upstairs.

The game loft has a full-size sleeper sofa.

The kitchen is completely furnished and has new small appliances including a KEURIG k-cup coffee maker in addition to the traditional drip coffeemaker. Bring your own favorite coffee, tea, cocoa, or specialty k-cups to suit your own moods & tastes.

The living room has a gas fireplace, large screen DVR HD TV, and DVD player. We offer the GOLD package of cable TV, which includes FREE movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, Starz and more), local channels, on-demand and more! Enjoy the FREE, secure, password-protected Free WIFI. So, if you choose to just relax at the cabin and forego all the activities, shopping, shows and things to do in town, you can watch TV & see movies until the cows come home! Or, if you must, you can do work on your laptop while enjoying the solitude of the cabin.

Upstairs is the game loft, complete with wet bar and under counter refrigerator. There is a brand new shuffleboard table, electronic darts, Multi-cade arcade game (remember Pac Man?), various board games, puzzles and cards. There is also a flat screen, DVR HD TV with DVD player. Stroll out to the 2nd floor covered deck and relax on the porch swing & try to name some of the strange items on display.

We provide a whole-house water filtration system, security system, land line telephone with free long distance. There is plenty of parking in our circular drive, which is at the end of a cul-de-sac with NO annoying traffic passing by. We offer both a charcoal grill and a gas grill for your outdoor cooking enjoyment. You provide your own charcoal and/or gas. There may be some gas in the tank from prior guests which you are welcome to use. If you have to purchase gas, then you can "pass it forward" to any future guests.

One of the best features of Vintage Retreat is that there are no close neighbors who can see in your windows! This is a beautiful, woodsy, serene location with great views.

We'd love for you to visit with us!

If you use GPS and are coming from E I-40, GPS will likely bring you in "the back way" via Glades Rd, or Powdermill Rd. Although it IS shorter, it will take you much longer, plus the roads are very narrow, winding, with blind curves, and just plain scary for anyone who isn't used to driving them.

WE RECOMMEND to stay on Hwy 321 all the way into downtown Gatlinburg, headed toward Pigeon Forge & Sevierville. You will enter Great Smoky Mountain National Park and will drive through the tunnel. After you go through the tunnel, turn right on King Branch Rd. Follow King Branch to the entrance of Sky Harbor, which will be a right turn onto Silver Poplar Ln. Take the first left onto Ski View Ln (it will be a sharp cutback to the left), and follow the road to the top of the hill. There will be a red fire hydrant on your right, with confusing road signage. Turn right at the red fire hydrant, then take the first left (there's a hand-made sign "E. Fir St"). Vintage Retreat is directly in front of you at the end of the cul-de-sac. WELCOME!

About Diane DeBruhl

After watching our grown children become successful in the vacation rental business, we decided to throw our hats in the ring! This is our first vacation property, and we fell in love with it the moment we saw it. We hope you enjoy the improvements we have made, and continue to make. This cabin is our "home away from home", and we are excited to share it with you.

We are retired from careers in music education and nursing, and have a wide variety of interests, including the shooting sports, RV-ing, outdoor activities, and of course, lovin' on our five grandchildren.

Diane DeBruhl purchased this cabin in 2017

Why Diane DeBruhl chose Sevierville

Growing up in the Appalachian mountains, this cabin brings back memories of family, friends and lifestyles of long ago. But unlike the mountain cabins of my great grandmothers & grandmothers, THIS one has all the modern conveniences! Including running water and TWO flush toilets! And a wonderful hot tub on a screened porch with privacy blinds, if you choose to use them!

What makes this cabin unique

From Packard hubcaps to snow shoes, this cabin has so many unique, interesting and whimsical furnishings/decorations, you won't need to go to a museum! In addition, it is SO convenient to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Arts & Crafts Community, yet is SO private and peaceful. Don't forget the Premium Gold Cable Channels and secure WiFi, all free for you. If you like staying indoors, you'll love the shuffleboard table & Multi Arcade game console with all the old favorites such as Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, Frogger and more!

The best family vacation in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The house was super clean and very decorated for the holidays. We were all very impressed with the attention to details. Super comfortable stay. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! Much better then a hotel stay. Definitely looking forward to stay at this place again. Thank you Diane!

Amazing little cabin

  • 5 of 5

If you choose this cabin, you will not be disappointed!!! The beds are very comfy, there is a washer and dryer, hot tub is easy to use, and it is perfect for 2 couples because there are 2 king suites one upstairs and one downstairs which provides privacy. The kitchen and bathroom have all you need and it is so quiet. There are 3 options for outside seating enjoying the wildlife and the view. All 4 of us took showers very close to together and never had to worry about hot water. The directions to the cabin were perfect. The drive to the cabin at night was a little scary but after a time or two that was ok too! Book it!!! You will love it!

GREAT Cabin in a Beautiful Location!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just returned from our stay at Vintage Retreat. I feel reviews are extremely helpful since pictures don't always give a clear picture of the property. I would like to start of my review with all of the Negatives about Vintage Retreat. Negative: The toilet paper in the downstairs bath came out the wrong way! The paper rolled out from the bottom instead over over the top! That is the Negative!!!!! The POSITIVES: What a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of Tennessee! The cabin is close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to be convenient to get into town. But it is WAY FAR ENOUGH outside of the cities to feel like you were in the middle of no where! Driving up the mountain to the cabin the 1st time was "interesting!" Doing it in the dark would be a major challenge but we arrived in the early afternoon, and once we found the cabin, it was not a problem. Diane will send you explicit directions about how to unlock the front door and turn off the alarm. Never was a problem. The cabin is spotless and the bedrooms are comfortable with very comfortable beds. The hot tub worked great, and so did the gas grill. I would absolutely recommend Vintage Retreat without any hesitation, and we will definitely plan a return visit. But we will definitely request the toilet paper to be installed properly!!! :-) Thanks for a great vacation Diane!

Owner's Response: Thank you Steve for your glowing review. I am still laughing at your bathroom humor! I could have sworn I bought all "A-side" TP and not "B-side" TP, but we all make mistakes sometimes. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay, and welcome you back anytime.

From the hot tub, to the game room and Mountain View’s our stay was fantastic. We even had a mama bear walk by the cabin on our last morning before check out. Inside the cabin it was clean, beds were comfy, amenities all there and available.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your most kind review of Vintage Retreat. The bears are truly a highlight for a vacation, so I'm glad you had the good fortune to experience one. I hope you will return in the future, and will choose my cabin as your home away from home.

Convenient yet quiet location. Perfect for family of five. Felt like home from the second we arrived

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location halfway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Quiet area. The only sounds were the birds. Great view also. The kitchen was well equipped. We only ate out two meals which saved money for all the fun activities. The cabin was comfortable, clean and decorated nicely. The owner Diane was very nice and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Vintage Retreat for your stay in the area.

Your mountain getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains starts here

Gatlinburg is nestled at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America. There are three entrances into the Smokies right from downtown. Gatlinburg attracts more than eleven million visitors a year and can grow to a population of 40,000-plus on any given night. This little town of 3,944 residents is dedicated to welcoming all of its guests with a taste of Appalachian hospitality at its best. Folks come from all over the world for vacations, outdoor adventures, family fun and memory making. Gatlinburg is one of America's great mountain resort destinations, with accommodations of every kind, dozens of local-to-national restaurants, and attractions galore – all nestled in the foothills and surrounded on three sides by the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg prides itself on its walk-ability amidst mountain heritage and the arts, crafts and shops that reflect that tradition.

Walking Downtown and the River Walk:

Everyone enjoys walking the Downtown Parkway, which runs from one end of town to the other. It’s filled with a rich variety of things to see and activities to experience, places to eat, super shopping and attractions that boggle the mind. For a quieter stroll, take the River Walk and enjoy the cheerful song of the Little Pigeon River, with gazebos and benches along the way. Apart from the Downtown Parkway and connecting side streets, the East Parkway at Traffic Light #3 is dotted with shops and restaurants for about three miles.

Arts and Crafts for miles

Anchored at the corner of East Parkway and Glades Road at Traffic Light #3A, you'll find the beginning of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. Home to over 100 shops featuring craftspeople and artists along an 8-mile loop, it's the largest gathering of independent artisans in North America. You'll discover one-of-a-kind crafts, treasures and artwork, and you can watch the artisans at work. Stop along the way and chat with a painter or potter, or let a broom maker show you how it's done.

The night time is the right time

Once the sun sets, there's plenty of dining and entertainment downtown. From family fare to filet mignon, Gatlinburg's restaurants are always fixin' up something special. After dinner, enjoy a show. Take a trip back in time to the slapstick vaudeville comedy of Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre or check out the Mentalist show with hypnosis and magic. Grab a bench and people-watch. Or cruise up the Space Needle or Gatlinburg Sky Lift and enjoy the twinkling lights below.
