The Byrdcliff House met every need and there were many: location, pet-friendly, spacious enough to accommodate two of us working remotely full-time and two large dogs, and activities nearby. The house really is magical - you have to stay to understand why. We loved the area immensely - we were able to get out and explore with ease - from hiking to the Fire Tower, to counting waterfalls to Sundown, to going to Bethel (concert site of Woodstock), to the Saugerties lighthouse, to Kingston, to breakfast at the Cooper Lake firehouse, touring the Byrdcliff colony - hike to the quarry, dinner in Rhinecliff, drinks at the Diamond Mill, drive to the Eagles aerie, sunset at the reservoir. The house has great amenities - plenty of gourmet cookware, comfy beds, towels (bath and beach), spacious living areas and lots of light to let the sunshine in, high speed wifi and cable. The large is large (soggy in some spots and the fence needs a tad of repair - don't just leave your inquisitive dog outside). Snow removal was no problem, and we opted to do all of our laundry in nearby Kingston. The decks need some repairs - in the works. We found the neighbors charming, and Michael there when/if we needed him. We had our privacy and respected others' - zero issues. Hard to leave. Should you find your self at the Byrdcliff House - take care of her and show her some love. She will love you back.
