I stayed at this location 10 years ago with my family. They haven't upgraded a thing since then. Furniture is old and run down. We usually stay a week but this time only 5 nights. In the end that was the better choice. To start lots of flies and ants, ants, ants, Traps were set up and the ants were avoiding the traps. There was stuff left behind from previous renters. In the drawers and furniture. So whomever is doing the cleaning does need to check a little better. Screen doors and windows all were popping off. The sliding screen door would fall on whomever tried opening it. Maybe that's why we getting the flies inside so much. The back shower door doesn't close while showering and there's a continuous drip coming from it once it's turned off. I went to open the sofa to sleep on it. Closed it back up. It needs a new mattress.Make sure you take your own cooking utensils if you plan on cooking. When you are outside, which is where we were, the location can't get any better and my family still had a blast and made the best of it. Unfortunately we will not be back at this location. Thank you for giving my family a lot of years.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Jenny. We're sorry your stay fell short, especially after returning after ten years. We apologize for the pest issues and for items left behind — housekeeping has been notified to address this. We're glad your family still enjoyed the location and the time together, and we appreciate the many years you stayed with us.

Newport Beach Vacation August 2023

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our Family has been taking Family vacations in Newport for many years, although we haven't been in about 12 years. I was very pleased with Burr White and the condition of the property. I was a little disappointed with a few of the longtime residents. I understand the inconvenience that all the visitors can bring but being rude to visitors who are respectful and courteous to them is uncalled for One crochy old lady was so rude to us she made my Grandkids cry for really no reason, later I heard her yelling at the cable company on the phone,I just chalked it up as she is just unhappy,.The Balboa Fun Zone is rundown and needs a refresh.Beach was GreatIt was a nice time and we will be backk again.

close to beach and what was expected

This unit is close to beach and exactly what we wanted. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is average to small. The living space is a good size. This is a no frills beach unit. The furniture is sparce and older. It was perfect for us because we had 2 grandkids staying there and didn't need to worry about breaking anything. There are tile floors throughout. The unit was clean, but you can't help but get sand in the unit if you go to the beach - which is why we were there. The tile has some chips in several places and this causes you to sometimes think it is still dirty after you clean/sweep it but it is not. The unit is definitely outdated, but we were there to stay by the beach. If you want to be pampered, then spend the extra money. It is a good unit and great shower water pressure. We loved that. The beds were firm and comfortable enough. It was a good solid unit with plenty of kitchen cooking items. Only one tv. but overall, we had a great time there.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The kitchen had nothing to cook with. The oven stove was the size of an apartment stove/oven. The seating wasn’t enough for the 10 people that could stay there. Ants in the kitchen and bathrooms. I was sorely disappointed in the amenities for what we paid.

Needs some TLC....

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve always enjoyed staying at the beach and have rented through Burr White several times. This particular rental needs a lot of TLC. It was disappointing how out dated the place was. There were simple everyday items missing in the kitchen, ants were an issue within an hour of being there, and we had some issues with the TV. We would NEVER consider renting this particular unit again :(. FYI...I did turn in a written review with the keys-was that not seen???
