You will feel as though you're on top of the world when you step into the great room at Casa Oso Grande and glimpse the view through the sliding glass doors (occupying one entire wall) to the deck and beyond. Treetops, rolling hills and a huge sky greet you: an awe-inspiring sight and one you will never forget. Welcome to paradise, New Mexico style!

Slip out onto the deck (one of two at Casa Oso Grande: the other is above, on the second story!) and feel the fresh, bracing mountain air as you gaze upon miles of unspoiled mountainside. There's a table and chairs for casual dining out here, as well as a handsome grill. You could spend an entire day on this deck, watching the changing sky and enjoying the scented breezes.

Inside, the ceiling soars above the stone flooring and fireplace. Track lighting casts a warm glow onto the leather furniture, and huge windows offer views in all directions. Relax for a moment and enjoy the flat-screen TV, complete with cable package and DVD player. Or put on your favorite music and celebrate the beginning of a perfect Ruidoso vacation.

Although you will probably take most of your meals outdoors on the deck, a sun-drenched dining area with a unique chandelier made of antlers tempts you to serve at least one indoor feast. This long wooden table seats 8 comfortably, offering glorious views of the deck and beyond. What a lovely place to begin the day with a cup of coffee and your Kindle!

And if you're feeling ambitious, take advantage of the fully stocked, beautifully appointed kitchen at Casa Oso Grande. The primary suite is on the first floor, with a private bathroom. (A half-bath serves the great room and kitchen/dining areas.) The primary suite is a joy, featuring a king-sized bed in a rustic wooden pole frame between two long windows with mountain views. There is an HDTV in here, and the bath includes a tiled walk-in shower as well as a lovely garden tub for soaking. There are even breathtaking views from the bath!

The second downstairs bedroom also contains a king-sized bed in a beautiful rough wood frame. Its en-suite bath has both a shower and tub option, and the bedroom includes its own flat-screen.

Finally, the downstairs offers a large game room for those stay-in evenings! Foosball, HDTV, a handsome chimney, and a sofa that converts to a queen-sized bed encourage the whole group to spend time together in here -- and to put up friends for the night, if needed!

Upstairs you will find two more bedrooms, plus a breathtaking deck with hot tub, chiminea, and casual seating. The views from this high deck are unparalleled, and you will love racing out here at first light to see the beginning of another perfect day in Ruidoso.

Everything is provided for you at Casa Oso Grande. You have free WiFi, and all towels and linens are waiting for every bed and bath (even the sofa sleeper!). Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter.
