Four short walking blocks from the St. Charles streetcar and close to lots of eateries, a grocery and drugstore. My home is 90 years old, in a beautiful historic neighborhood that is very safe and super convenient to anywhere you want to go in the greater New Orleans area. Apartment is self-contained, beautiful, very comfy, and has everything you will need for your stay!

Beds - 1 queen, 1 loveseat full size sleeper, 1 folding roll-away cot/bed (150 lbs. max), and "sleep on me" sofa and loveseat. Note: This listing is also available as a 2 bedroom/2 bath, adding a full bed, full size futon and an additional roll-away cot - see listing #958166.

The space - Home away from home in a 90 year-old historic home. Fully equipped, and we should be able to accommodate any special requests you have. Please note that there is one folding cot/bed, 150 lbs weight limit. Also, this can be rented as a one or two-bedroom apartment - please see my two-bedroom listing #958166 if a larger group is coming or multiple beds and bathrooms are required.

Guest access - Apartment has private patio and entrance. Swimming pool and spa are in the backyard, contact host for access.

Interaction with guests - My adult son and I live in the remainder of the house, but you will rarely see us unless you need us!

Historic neighborhood - great for walking and jogging. Very close to universities and lots of local eateries. Super safe, great for jogging or long walks down our tree-lined street.

Getting around - St. Charles streetcar is a short walk away and will take you to the French Quarter/CBD/Warehouse District. Centrally located, one mile from I-10. Other transportation options are available including driver service and city buses.

Other things to note:

- Booking guest must be at least 25 unless have positive reviews have been posted by other hosts, and all guest under 25 must be accompanied by booking guest.*

- Please note that there is one folding cot/bed, 150 lbs weight limit.*

- NO parties or large gatherings, and no more than two "visitors" allowed to visit (cannot sleep over). Primary use is for registered guests, and guests must respect host and neighbors' right to privacy, peace and quiet. Quiet time after 9pm. Perimeter and entrances are monitored by surveillance.*

- NO access to backyard (location of hot tub and pool) except by pre-arrangement with owner, 9am-9pm, no glass allowed. Hot tub will be heated one hour per day/night of stay, as requested by guests; pool is not heated.*

- Small pets are okay with additional cleaning fee - please email host.*

- No smoking or vaping inside, but there is a cute little patio area at entry way.*

-- There is no off-street parking, but all neighbors have their own driveways so parking is never a problem on the street right at the apartment's walkway.

*Violator and other guests will be immediately removed from the property and no refunds will be issued.

Lovely home away from home

This was a lovely apartment in an awesome neighborhood. I had everything I needed and Jannette checked in by text with helpful information, plus I had the pleasure of chatting with her in person one day by the pool. Easy walk to the streetcar, grocery, etc. and about 10-15 minutes by car to the quarter. Will stay again when I’m in town.

Wonderful Week in NOLA

Jannette provides a comfortable home-away-from-home. The little touches throughout the apartment give it a home-like feel, and Jannette was always available if we needed anything or had any questions. She was also pro-active in letting us know about events that we might (or might not!) have wanted to participate in. The neighborhood was quiet and close to pretty much everything. The next time we are in NOLA, we hope to stay here again.

Wonderful Stay in Uptown New Orleans

We have stayed in New Orleans in a number of units over the last 4 years, but this one is by far the nicest place we have been. The owner, Janette, who lives right upstairs, is a joy, not to mention being a fount of knowledge about many things including what to do and see in New Orleans. I wish my neighbors at home were as nice or as friendly. She reminds us of a favorite aunt.

It is on a main street in a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. During our week long stay, we had no problem street parking right in front of the property. The St. Charles steetcar is a block away on S. Carrolton Ave. and will take you downtown in about 45 minutes. The ride itself is a sightseeing tour and a ride worth taking.

Private entry to the unit is via the side of the house, just a short walk from the street behind a white picket fence. The pictures shown in the listing are an accurate representation of the property. It is very comfortable, very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. The central air conditioning worked perfectly (which is very important 9 months of the year in New Orleans). It was super convenient having new, clean appliances in the kitchen and the laundry room (even an ironing board and steam iron are provided). The bathroom was large and well appointed with big, fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom with a good sized walk-in closet. A big screen TV with all of the premium cable channels is in the living room. The WiFi was fast and easy to access.

As an added bonus, the pool and hot tub in the back yard were terrific. Just let Janette know that you want access (before 9PM so the neighbors don't get upset) and show respect.

All in all it was a terrific stay, we can't say enough positive things about Janette and the unit itself, and when next we go come to New Orleans, we will be staying there.

East living in the big easy

This apartment had everything we needed and just 15 minute to the French quarters. Situated in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, very clean, comfortable, what more can you ask for at that price. Highly recommend
