What We Love
Enveloped in the breathtaking and peaceful Tasmanian countryside the Japanese-inspired architecture of this serene modern home is an unmissable escape. Perched atop a hill and away from neighbouring lots, the perfect spot for pure serenity. Clean lines meet at the floor to ceiling windows, connecting this home to nature from every aspect, and the minimal interior is impeccably designed to deliver the best in wabi-sabi living. This one-of-a-kind home is the ideal base for a long or short Snug stay.
Spectacularly well-appointed, this home has your practical needs covered amidst impeccable modern design. Boasting a 2 bedroom main house plus 1 bedroom separate studio + bathroom and kitchenette, you’ll have plenty of space for your group to spill out and unwind. For an extra special moment, take in the stunning landscape whilst sitting around the firepit, the ideal place to connect with nature and your fellow guests.
This property is perched atop a hill away from neighbouring properties. In the main house, the open-plan living space is a sanctuary of serenity. Housing a large kitchen island and private pantry, cooking is a gastronomic dream, and you have access to a barbeque. The seating area is styled to make the most of your rugged views, with minimal furniture just waiting to hold space for a moment of tranquility. The two bedrooms in the main house are furnished in a peaceful Japanese style. The master bedroom features a King bed, and leads onto an ensuite glass-framed bathroom, boasting a large sunken bath with unmissable ocean views. The second bedroom is a unique space; atop the raised platform are two memory foam tatami mattresses (which can be put together to make a 1 x king bed, transporting you East.
In the neighbouring on site studio, the Japanese vibe continues, where a King bed is positioned to overlook the stunning views, or, if coming with children, they can transport themselves to Japan in the Sunken tatami where the children can sleep, with fitted mattresses and a sense of eastern serenity. Providing extra living space, the studio kitchen has the essentials to prepare a leisurely brunch with local produce picked up in the village, and the lounge space offers a conversational seating area, perfect for spending time with your group. Another jewel of this home is the deep outdoor bathtub. Relax in style letting the wind gently waft through your hair as you watch the sunset from the unique tub alfresco.
As revitalising as its surroundings, this home perfectly echoes the alternative lifestyle found in Snug itself. Sparsely populated and extremely beautiful, the main pull of Snug is nature. There are plenty of jaw-dropping hikes and unmissable excursions (Bruny Island is a day trip with taking, and Snug Falls offers year-round beauty). Snug Beach is just waiting to be explored, offering very calm waters, perfect for swimming and kayaks - not to mention the spectacular sunsets! You’re only 30 minutes from Hobart, an easy drive or bus. With its commitment to produce-driven dining, weekly markets and food experiences, you can expect a long and varied list of top places to eat in Hobart. Coffee fiends will be satisfied, Hobart is a mecca when it comes to cafes. Nightlife is unbeatable too, as there are many Hobart bars and boundary-pushing distilleries scattered throughout the city. Culture vultures won’t be disappointed, as you’re primed for a visit to the wonderful Mona art gallery, and if you’re visiting at the right time of year, the Dark Mofo festival, to experience the best in art, culture and cuisine.
