The check in process was a little rocky because we arrived at night. We couldn't see the posts with the number on it. A better landmark would be the ice cream shop but this probably wouldn't be a problem in the daylight and they do recommend arrive in the daytime. But no big thing - this place is amazing!
The Hana harvest cottage is a great place to stay. The cottage was very comfortable, and nicely kept. The location was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by trees and a river. Would highly recommend for travelers looking to unplug and enjoy the Hana area.

perfect place to stay on the road to Hana
Good size for up to 3 people. Lot of light during the day and a great balcony to chill at night. There is a coffee shop downstairs.

Cozy Oasis in Hana
We enjoyed staying 2 nights in this cozy cottage. After driving the somewhat stressful Road to Hana, we were happy to arrive at the cottage. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a big lanai with a peek a boo view of the ocean. We had a nice visit with the owner, Jacob, who was more than happy to answer a few of our questions. The cottage is located about 7 miles before Hana, which worked out fine for exploring the area. After spending the day traveling around, we stopped both nights for dinner at one of the great food trucks. before heading back to our quiet oasis. We would highly recommend staying here and if you are lucky, the creek next door will be flowing!
The location is about a long winding 30+ minute drive to Hana. It is not in or close to Hana or anything.
The restaurant they advertise for coffee, smoothies & food is closed.
There is no cell phone connectivity. The water for the house is catchment so use needs to be very limited. The water can not be consumed. There is a water in a cooler on the deck & some bottled water.
The emails I received regarding limiting my use of the internet were quite unplesant and also the warnings about exceeing the number if visitors (not to exceed 3) was extreme.
The house is fine inside and well equipped but there are 20 steps to the front (only) door.
The roof over the deck leaks, there is a bit of deck rot in a few boards and portions of the deck railings are rotten.
The grounds are amazing with exceptional tropical flowers.
The sense of isolation was uncomfortable with the road close enough to see the lights in the house at night. The open walls if the reastaurant on the roadside below the house that anyone could access and absolutely no one around and no contact from the owners felt uncomfortable and pitentially unsafe. On day 4 - 2 workers showed up. One to garden, the other was looking at the restaurant.
The advertising needs to be more accurate. People depend on cell phones, availibility of food and a sense of security.
Hosts were very accommodating to any needs I had, and very kind helping me with an issue I had early on during my booking process.
The place is cozy and the scenery outside is beautiful and jungle-like.
Good amenities in the kitchen and in the bathroom. The house doesn't have AC. It was fairly warm when we arrived early-evening. But the host did provide a fan to bring in cool air which worked well. Nighttime here was a lot cooler than on the west side of the island, I'm assuming because of the elevation.
The internet is very slow but was always available. Understandable given the remote location. There's satellite TV but some DVDs were also available. The lack of connectivity here really does encourage you to get out of the cottage and enjoy nature. It was helpful staying here to break up the hana highway journey.
Watch out for mosquitos on the balcony
Exactly what we were looking for and more. Loved the covered lanai to enjoy the sunrise & rain showers. Very quiet at night. Bonus coffee shop right on the property.
The window over the bed allows you to see a zillion stars at night. Absolutely beautiful because there is no light pollution. Also, the shower is great!

To far a long road
The place itself was nice over all. But it didn't have any AC so be ready for hot days! Also the place is at least 2 hours from any activities or popular towns. So this place wasn't for us. It would be nice for someone who would want to stay here all day and just relax. There's hardly any noice other than mother nature but like I said be prepared for hot days.
We loved this place. It was quiet and had a nice jungle feel, it was a nice contrast to the bustling resorts we stayed in at Kaanapali and Kihei. The cats are super friendly. The spiders didn't LOOK friendly but they at least left us alone and I imagine they cut down on the mosquitos so I'll give them a pass, haha.
Our stay in the rainforest cottage was amazing! It is not luxurious but it was just what we had hoped for and more. Most importantly the bed was comfortable but a close second was the awesome views while relaxing on the lanai. The cottage was spacious for just my husband and I. It has a nice little kitchen, comfortable living area, clean and spacious bathroom, laundry facilities and my favorite, lanai with table and 2 loungers. The fresh flowers, fruit bowl and banana bread made us feel welcome and were much appreciated.
The location is perfect for enjoying the gems of the Hana Highway before the crowds arrive.
It fulfilled a Bucket List wish and I highly recommend for a more leisurely experience in the Hana area.
The cottage was clean and lovely. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed our time there. Only issue was the shower did not work and we had to take baths and being on a catchment system made this inconvenient. Also 2 days the water was brown. We were there a week and I feel like the shower should have been fixed at some point. Besides that, I loved the cottage and the beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to explore Hana as you are far from everything else. Wonderful place to recharge and reconnect.
This place was 100% as advertised and as described. It is quiet, peaceful, convenient and simply beautiful. We were here three nights and had no problems and wanted for nothing. Close to Hana Town, but, out enough that it is quiet and is like paradise. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay in this lovely cottage. A perfect stop in the road to Hana, which made exploring in both directions very easy.
The cottage itself was so so nice. Very roomy (looks bigger than in the pictures), gorgeous sunrises on the lanai, lovely breezes when the windows and screen doors were open. We also loved having the food trucks and shop nearby.
I wish we'd had more time here, so hopefully next time!
Beautiful cottage with a partial ocean view, gorgeous tropical foliage and next to a very cool lava flow and stream. It was great to have a base to come "home" to while exploring the Hana Highway and its hikes and waterfalls. Host left us lovely tropical flowers, a fruit basket and locally baked banana bread. There's a cart at the bottom of the driveway selling snacks and smoothies. Do note that this place is NOT in Hana town-- "civilization" of any sort is about 25 minutes away. However, we loved the peaceful seclusion of this home.
Laura was amazing and gave us so much wonderful information about the property and nearby area. The suite was perfect with gorgeous views. We only wish we booked it for longer. There are food trucks right on the property too. Fresh fruit, smoothies and coffee. Bed was soft and dreamy. Suite was super clean. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Very nice to stay on the jungle side of Maui
Surreal setting on a coastal rain forest.
Clean and comfortable.
You do need to be well stocked with groceries when arriving to get the best experience.
Beware that the WiFi is extremely limited.
Lots of very interesting and awesome places to visit. Including a 1/2 mile walk in an underground lave tube.
