The place was great! The amenities exceeded expectations. The walking path out the back door took us to a spectacular view of the entire valley and town.
My family and I enjoyed the stay at the house. We were there for a quick trip but it was a relaxing and beautiful time amongst the beautiful scenery that Alpine has. I recommend this location.
From the beginning of my rental to the end every thing was very easy and the host answered any questions quickly. Its location was ideal as far as it was not in town, but close by all the restaurants or stores. I’d highly recommend this property on your visit to Alpine.
Check in was super easy and host rapidly responded to a question I had. The view from the dining and living room is spectacular. Grandson (6) loved hiking up the hill out the back door and the views from the top are breathtaking. We brought our pup and the fenced in area was very safe and perfect. Lifetime memories and a definite do over.
Nice house, spectacular view! Place was spacious, comfortable, and well stocked. Covered parking was a bonus! Check-in and check-out couldn’t have been easier and communication with host really good. Be aware though that grass burrs (or sticker burrs, depending on where you’re from) are prolific in the area and this property did not get an exemption. A minor inconvenience but not enough to put you off of staying at this house.
Peggy’s View was a spacious property for the two of us. We enjoyed watching the quail and deer, out the window from the dining table, as we ate breakfast. The night sky (12/26-29) was amazing from here as well—there is no light pollution where this place is located; we were able to stargaze each night. I would definitely rent here again if staying in Alpine.
Stay at your place was fine. Just nothing to view nor see. Not your fault.Too much is built up about Big Bend area. We found it very boring. We simply cannot understand why the towns are like Ghost towns with everything closed and no one on the streets.
Peggy's View is an apt title. We spent our evenings around a fire pit in the back yard, overlooking the desert and distant mountains. There are neighbors but you never feel like you are sacrificing privacy at all. We did have visitors in the form of a deer (there is a local herd) and some birds. The kitchen is equipped enough that we cooked several of our meals. Shower has ample hot water and good pressure. Internet is fine; my wife had a 3 hour online meeting that included videos - she had no problems at all. Alpine itself is a clean, friendly town with several restaurants/bars. We recommend Magoo's for mexican food/burgers, the Aurora Social Club and the Richey for drinks and Spicewood for a good steak with a view
