The pool was clean and great for a quick dip, especially after a soak in the hot tub. The hot tub temperature was perfect and all the jets in order. The Makolea is far enough away from the chain stores (walmart, costco...) traffic, but close enough to them for a shopping trip whenever something is needed. We would not hesitate to stay here again and hope to do so soon.

A perfect location for snorkelers; you can easily walk to one of the best snorkeling sites on the island. A great pool and hot tub that were never busy and just outside your door. Very comfortable place to stay, and the owners did a great job of outfitting the condo with everything you need, from kitchen tools to beach accessories. Dinner on the balcony amongst the green trees was special too.

Groceries and restaurants are also not far from this peaceful spot. The condo was lovely...very clean, comfortable, spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Just what we needed

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo checked all the boxes: GREAT location, just a very short walk to one of the best snorkeling beaches on the Kona Coast, and a short drive down into the main shopping area in Kona. It was clean, safe, well stocked. We were there during the Tsunami Warning and Craig was good at keeping in contact with us through that. Water pressure was good (I've come to appreciate that). Also, kitchen was stocked with plenty of glasses and measuring cups, and all those things that some rental condos don't bother to include. A/C were units in each bedroom and worked well in those rooms (though they were loud -only complaint). I would definitely come back!

Great location, comfortable place & uneven communication

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property is clean, somewhat dated but fair for the cost and located near a top beach and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Communication was uneven - initially responsive, then stopped for no apparent reason. The most troubling thing: I was given 2 different door codes, which I tried to clarify a few hours before evening arrival but got no answer and neither code worked. After calling/texting the emergency contact and any email/phone # I had, someone answered the reservation line. Took over an hour to get the correct code, which was very stressful. The property contact offered 1 night credit for giving the wrong door code but then never provided it even after a few emails/texts. Besides that, the place was comfortable and very pleasant and the contact responded to issues during my stay.
