Ferieboliger nær Torturmuseet i Carcassonne

The owners are discreet but helpful. They clean the pool every morning early and is nearby if needed. The house was fine. There was a terrassedoor in the living room, that couldn't be locked when leaving the villa and the terrassedoor to the kitchen couldn't open (which was hot when cooking). But the kitchen is very big and well equipped and the beds comfortable and there is lots of towels to use. It was very hot during the week we spend and there is no A/C and the 3 fans were small and poor. A suggestion might be to buy some bigger and more silent fans in floor size for the bedrooms. The area is fine and it's easy to go on trips as the roads is nearby. However you can easily hear the road and the train at the house. It takes less than one hour to the Mediterranean sea and the beach in Narbonne is great. Lake du Cavaleyre is 15 mins away and is great for swimming and there is several activities: outdoor aquapark, tree climbing and waterboats for rent. A great place for families I Carcassonne is nice - both the new and old ville and Trebes nearby has both big supermarkets, several small shops (bakery, butcher) and nice restaurants at the Canal du Medi. There is nothing to do in Floure, where the house is. There is wine all over the area many places open for tastings and buy at the farm. We loved our holiday and the quietness from fuss and tourism which you find at the Riviera. There are no traffic jams in this area. People are very friendly and the owners at the house speak English, but French is preferred and nice to know everywhere else.
