Becky and I both grew up in the country, so when we were living in the city and looking for a cabin, we wanted something that felt a world away from manicured lawns, busy streets, and the hustle of everyday life. We dreamed of a true Northwoods getaway, surrounded by trees, wildlife, and peaceful water. Most importantly, we wanted a clear lake with a sandy bottom where our family could swim, play, and enjoy tubing together.
When we found this wooded spot on Loon Lake, we knew we had found something special. It had the rustic Northwoods cabin feel we were looking for, along with the lake and natural surroundings that made it easy to slow down and enjoy life outdoors.
This is where our boys learned to swim and canoe, spent hours fishing and catching frogs, picked berries in the woods, and gathered around the campfire to sing songs under the stars. Those simple moments became a lifetime of wonderful family memories.
Today, we’re grateful to share this special place with our grandchildren and with guests like you. We hope you’ll discover the same magic we did—the joy of a clear lake, the beauty of the woods, and the simple pleasure of making memories together in a place that feels a little removed from the rest of the world.
