Maleriske privat sommerhus på Great Pond

"Loon Landing" er en smuk privat sommerhus med 200 fødder på Great Pond. Svøm, kajak, fiske eller bare slappe af. Acadia park og Bar Harbor kun 30 minutters kørsel. Også, Schoodic Point er også en 30 minutters kørsel. Den rekreative Sunrise Trail ligger 1 km væk.

Mit sted er godt for par.

Bygget i 2011 med post og stråle konstruktion. Huset er meget privat beliggende i skoven med et stort dæk ser ud på søen.

This cabin is very clean, comfortable and well supplied with everything a visitor would need. The property is beautiful and private. Hosts are very helpful answering any questions that we had. Only negative was not being able to access the pond with the kayaks or canoe because mother nature wrecked the dock. No biggie for us since we spent a lot of time hiking the numerous trails. We highly recommend this rental.

The location of this property is so peaceful! I thought the cabin was more spacious than the pictures depicted. Our teens really enjoyed kayaking, fishing and even taking a swim in the lake. They caught 7 different species of fish. Spending the evenings on the deck overlooking the lake listening to loons was so relaxing. The host was responsive when we needed to connect with him on the first day. The composting toilet was different but did not cause any issues. WiFi was definitely slow which made streaming on the TV annoying but there are plenty of DVD’s. It’s not a rental you choose to sit inside watching TV anyway. Overall, know you are booking a cabin in the woods.

This place is amazing!!!

Loon Landing was exactly what we needed. Very private, comfy, and the view of the pond was great! Easy walk down to the pond, and my dog loved going down there to paddle in the water. Short drive to Acadia, or anywhere really, for the ocean. Thank you so much for hosting us for the week!!

A Perfectly Peaceful Getaway

This cute cottage was just perfect for our stay. It was clean and thoughtfully furnished. The hosts were kind and very helpful. It was so fun to be right on the water for family canoe/kayak time and the porch has such peaceful views. We loved our stay and made many fun family memories!

Quaint place to relax

What an adorable, quaint, little place to stay. If quiet and relaxation is what you are looking for, this is the place for you. Sit by the water and let Mother Nature calm you. Just about an hour away from downtown Bar Harbor so plenty of opportunity to shop, eat, hike, but return to the quiet.

Peaceful getaway spot!

Loon Landing was the perfect spot for our anniversary getaway! The pictures and description were very accurate. The cabin was comfortable and equipped with all we needed! We enjoyed time on the lake and some delightful nearby restaurants and hikes! Hoping to return again!

Restful getaway

Great view from large porch. Comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. Short drive to grocery stores, including seafood market. Nature trails for our morning walks. We took day trips to Bar Harbor and Castine for lunch and the sights. The host was always available and helpful.

Private & quiet getaway

Had a great time at this cabin. It’s not often you find a place that is private and quiet like this one. The pond being so close makes it perfect. Loved fishing and caught some bass right off the dock. Our dog had fun running around in the water as well. Host was accommodating and always available. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Most days we just wanted to hang out at the cabin and take it all in.

Exploring Maine coast

The cottage is secluded on a beautiful lake, and we did hear loons! It was a great location for our hiking trips to nearby public lands as well as Acadia and Cutler. It’s well equipped, and the heater is great for chilly mornings. We wanted a getaway as our base and happy with our choice. The hosts let us in a bit early and were very responsive with questions. Ellsworth isn’t far if you want to shop.

Loon Landing was the perfect private getaway for our family. We were able to enjoy a couple of evenings of fishing in the pond, and enjoyed the sounds of the loons echoing across the pond at night. The location is a little bit off the beaten path, however, it was within a reasonable driving distance from everything that we had planned. The only concern that we had with our stay was how steep the staircase was to the loft area. The adults slept upstairs while the kids stayed downstairs to prevent any accidents going up and down the steps. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Secluded and beautiful

Amazing find on VRBO. Loved our stay at the cabin. My kids enjoyed fishing and swimming. Very quiet and secluded area, exactly as they described. The main only negative thing I would have to say is there are a ton of mosquitoes at night, but that is no one’s fault! During the day they weren’t as bad. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cabin!

Quaint and Peaceful

The cottage was immaculate. We were impressed with the cleanliness, condition and the stocked kitchen (appliances, pots/pans, pantry items, etc) The area is very peaceful. The canoe was in excellent condition and the heat worked wonderfully! Proximity to Acadia was great, as well. We had an awesome time. If you're looking for a quiet retreat for some down time from the busy thing we all call life then this is it!!!

Nice cabin in the woods

Scenic view of the pond, with access to water. Water in the pond a bit too murky for a swim but great for kayaking. We liked the quiet location with reasonable travel time to attractions. Cabin is sufficiently stocked, however more towels would be needed for longer stays. No internet connection during our stay, but who needs it with a view like this?;) Good place to unplug and relax away from it all.

Peaceful and quiet location. Good access to Arcadia, Bangor and Bar Harbour. Spent the days exploring and the evenings listening to the loons. Brought our Thermacells which were helpful with mosqitoes out on the deck. We had a lovely and relaxing stay. Recommend unplugging any night lights you can live without as bugs make their way in and there is a little cemetery every morning under the lights. It's the woods. There are going to be bugs. The kayaks and canoe are an amazing bonus, along with the fire pit.

Die Unterkunft war genau wie beschrieben, sie hat sogar unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Hütte ist perfekt ausgestattet und liegt wunderschön an einem kleinen See. Sogar für unsere Kinder im Teenageralter ein besonderer Aufenthalt.

No Brainer

This place rules!!! Couldn't have asked for a more perfect location during the most beautiful time of year (mid-Oct). Visiting Maine and going to Acadia NP during fall was on my bucket list. I'm so thankful that we were able to call this place home while we were out there.

Just what we needed

I knew that we would love the location as soon as we turned onto the one lane gravel road leading to the cabin. It is secluded and quiet, but within a short drive of restaurants and attractions. The last night of out stay the sky was clear and we were able to see the Milky Way from the pier on the property.

Great Experience

Fantastic from start to finish. Everything was clean and the property was well supplied with everything you need to relax and enjoy. Loved canoeing/kayaking and swimming in the pond. The deck was wonderful and the location was prime for accessing the Downeast trail for bike rides as well as short drives to Donnell Public lands for great hikes. Acadia MDI/Schoodic we’re only 35-40 minutes away. 15-20 minutes into Ellsworth for any groceries/services. Pleasantly surprised that late August in the woods on a lake in Maine and very little issues with bugs. We have more mosquitoes in our back yard back in Maryland. We live Maine and would highly recommend a stay at Loon Landing for anyone looking to explore the Acadia National Park area or just relax on Great Pond. Aaron & Jennifer were great hosts.

Beautiful Remote Cottage

The Cottage was exactly as described in the listing. It was well furnished and supplied. We found the pamphlets and guide books supplied to be especially helpful as we explored the area. The only downside was that it was extremely buggy. This of course can’t be helped at a cottage in the woods by a pond in early summer. We would just recommend bringing lots of bug spray. We were able to take full advantage of the kayaks and canoe as well as the fire ring. We had a great time and would stay again.

Loon Landing

We enjoyed our stay at Loon Landing. The hosts were very helpful. The place was very private. One of our primary goals for the trip was to see and hear loons. The very first morning at 6:10 am, a loon drifted in right at the end of our pier and demonstrated his vocal talents! It was nice having our own canoe and kayaks to use for exploring. It was just a short drive to Acadia, which we explored thoroughly. Thanks so much Aaron and Jennifer!
