Good little property for a couple

This is a great little property and perfect as a short break hub for a couple. The flat is a good size with various areas to sit, was in great condition and was clean throughout. The building is quiet itself as well as being in a quiet area, and only a short walk to the walls, Gillygate and Goodramgate. Downsides: the parking space is overrun by a bush making unpacking a boot difficult, the property could benefit from a couple more hooks to hang towels in order to properly dry, and the hairdryer sounds close to giving up. All minor in the grand scheme of things!

Excellent location

Excellent Location. Very good standard of accomodation for two people. Sofa/Sofa bed needs some attention. Excellent customer services who quickly came up with a quick temporary solution when we had problem.

Central but quiet location with off-street parking

St John's Mews is only 5 minutes walk from Monk Bar and 10 minutes to the Minster. We felt very safe in the complex and it was very quiet at night as there is no through traffic at all. Great to find such a central location with off-street parking in York. We really enjoyed being able to walk into town, but were quickly at the ring road if we wanted to venture further afield. The flat had everything we needed for a five-day stay. The bed was a bit small for two tall people and the shower over the bath wasn`t high enough for my husband but these were small inconveniences.

York stay

Lovely modern compact flat. Very clean. 10 minute walk from York minster, restaurants, cafes and amenities. Handy local shop (Londis) across from the flat. Allocated car space but can’t emphasise enough ensure your permit is displayed at all times. This is supplied. Comfortable bed, double size and fan was really handy in the warm weather. So quiet and peaceful at all times. Would recommend this for 2 people at the most as very compact

Great time.

Our 6th time staying there. We personally find the location good - nice to have our own parking space during the stay too. Apartment is always clean and in good order. Looking forward to our next stay in December.

Good locations

Flat was really nice, great central location. Slightly tricky to find due to road layouts.

Short stay in York

The flat was in immaculate condition, very clean and well appointed. Ideally situated to easily walk into the centre of York but in a quiet location with dedicated parking space

Modern apartment conveniently located

We were very pleased with this comfortable apartment, just outside the city walls and a short walk from Yorkminster. Access was smooth and easy, the place was spotlessly clean, and the layout was pleasant. We'd definitely stay there again if we were staying in the city.

Quiet cosy spot for 2

A really nice little property, well fitted out and clean throughout. The kitchen has everything needed, the living area was a good size and the bed very comfortable. It was very quiet at all hours, and not too hot on the warmer days. I will note that the complementary Netflix mentioned in the property brochure would not work as login details had been removed from the TV.

Great property

Lovely property, ideal quiet location The only things that let it down are very minor 1 couldn't find the entrance to the block of apartments as it is concealed in a corner with no signage 2 the parking space is right against the bin compound and awkward to get in when another car is there 3 a cooking tray in the oven was dirty

St John's Mews

The accommodation was clean & comfortable & close to the centre York. if you are coming in a car it can be slightly confusing, so, please take note of the directions to the accommodation( one way system & Bollards). Also the entrance to the accommodation is hidden, so it may take, a little while to find?

Delightful Apartment

My friend and I wanted to visit York having never been and I prefer to stay as central as possible. This apartment is in a lovely location and offers parking which is something we really appreciated as we just left our car there for the 3 nights we were there. The apartment was comfortable very modern and had everything we needed. Easy access, we were informed by text when the apartment was ready and if you follow the instructions its easy to locate. Beautiful apartment, everything we needed and we will keep it on our radar if we're visiting again. The food in York is amazing too!

Great apartment in central location

Lovely clean modern apartment in central location in York. Hugely disappointed with lack of communication and customer service from Expedia, the Booking Agent. If we hadn't chased them several tomes, they would not have provided us with any information of the address and how to access the apartment. Would not use Expedia again.

Modern first floor apartment with parking

Nearly new and very modern first floor apartment with parking space. Very clean and well presented, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay; more in fact, since we didn't do any cooking. A short walk to the walls and the city centre. The car park barriers were not in use during our stay, which simplified our access and egress. The bathroom is small but adequate. We have been regular visitors to York for a number of years, patronising a nearby holiday let which, to our regret, is no longer available. This proved to be an excellent substitute, and we recommend it unreservedly.

Perfect!

Some Pros and Cons but overall, a fantastic place for 2 adults. Immaculate, quiet and a short walk to the main part of York with parking for one car. Although there wasn't much room for our luggage, we made it work in the lounge area. The bonus of a washing/dryer was good too. It was tricky to work but eventually we got it sorted. The bed mattress was super comfortable. Being a double it was rather small but there was a large wardrobe that took up space. I think a more compact wardrobe would allow a larger bed in room. The bathroom was adequate although the shower over bath, was high and it was slippery getting out. Not unlike other places we stsyed throughout the UK. We just had to be careful getting out. I think a shower safer and more suitable for adults. We'd definitely stay again. It was the quietest accommodation we'd had in 2 months.

Modernes Appartement in Citynähe

Absolut Empfehlenswert.

Perfect for us.

We booked this stay the week before, very last minute, we had no idea about location having never been to York before. It was the perfect base for us. Train museum, Jorvik centre, York minster, the shambles and loads of lovely places to eat. My only recommendation would be black out curtains for the bedroom as the car park lights are on all night.

Great location

14 St Johns Mews is a small flat in an excellent location with an easy, pleasant 10 minute walk from the quiet residential neighborhood to city center. The apartment was well-equipped with basics for kitchen. Bed was comfortable. There is a parking space if you have a car, but the space allotted is really small and up against a wall, plus a car was illegally parked in a position that made it almost impossible to get in and out of the space. So if you have a car you probably won't like it. But if you are just walking it is fine. When I arrived the apartment had not been cleaned and was really a mess. It was a Friday night and I called the emergency phone number and Stay York staff called me right back. She was extremely nice and helpful and found me a place in the same complex to stay that night and my apartment was spic and span clean the next day. I think Stays York did a good job of making up for the difficulty, which was probably an unusual problem with the cleaning company. There is a fold-out sofa, but it did not appear to be very comfortable to sleep in, so I would not suggest counting on it for an extra person. Good place for solo or couple with no car.
