A charming, loft-style private guesthouse nestled in the heart of the UNESCO-designated Loire Valley World Heritage Site, on the grounds of a historic windmill and former country bakery, typical of 19th-century rural France.

Overlooking the Loire River and surrounded by the picturesque Savennières vineyards, the home is located right along the popular and scenic “Loire à Vélo” bike trail and other hiking trails. There are several wine-tasting vineyards within walking distance, including the renowned Coulée de Serrant.
EASY ACCESS
Located just 2 hours and 30 minutes from CDG Airport by direct train and 1 hour and 30 minutes from downtown Paris, our home is situated on the outskirts of Angers, in the village of Bouchemaine, a 15-minute drive from the city center and the TGV station.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES

In the heart of château country, Angers is known for its medieval fortified castle, home to the famous Apocalypse Tapestry, and there are numerous other châteaux in the vicinity: Brissac, Serrant, Plessis-Macé, Plessis-Bourré, and the Benedictine Abbey of Solesmes. Chambord, Chenonceau, and Azay-le-Rideau are also within easy reach. Angers is also a 90-minute drive from Brittany’s Atlantic beaches and a 2½-hour drive from Mont Saint-Michel and the Normandy beaches.

Angers is known for its fine dining, with nearly 20 Michelin-rated restaurants in the department and plenty of quaint local cafes. Your hosts will be happy to offer local tips and recommendations.

Apocalypse Tapestry, a masterpiece of the Middle Ages. In
, the Hôpital Saint-Jean houses its modern counterpart, the
tapestry “Le Chant du Monde” by Jean Lurçat. Other
famous castles can be visited in the city’s surroundings, such as
Brissac, Serrant, Le Plessis-Macé, and Le Plessis-Bourré.

person in a second, separate sleeping area divided by a partial partition (but without a door), which also serves as an office.

Available for year-round rental at a rate of 800 euros per month, utilities not included.
