We had a welcoming stay at Arniston Cottages for a week in August/September timeframe enjoying its close proximity to Edinburgh city with easy access via local trains directly into Waverley Station in Edinburgh. Arniston House is well worth visiting and tours of the house with its history are conducted weekly The cottages are in a quiet setting and nicely equipped and spacious

A very comfortable cottage in an great location

We had a very enjoyable stay in Elm Cottage. Very comfortable, quiet and cosy with the wood burner. Plenty of logs available. Close to Gorebridge station, with free parking, for excellent access to Edinburgh.

Lovely cottage on a beautiful estate

Elm Cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Situated on a beautiful estate. Customer service is excellent. Henrietta ensured we had her contact details and that we were safe and knew where to find things in case of difficulties during the recent storms. In addition Henrietta was very accommodating when I had to add to my party at the last minute. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending this property and will look to book again when next in the area.

Relaxing stay

Thank you a lovely relaxing stay at Elm Cottage. The cottage was in an ideal location, close to the train station (although difficult to get a space). Advertised having a DVD player, but there wasn't one. White van visiting every morning to a neighbour parking very close to our front door, preventing us from sitting outside in the morning.

Perfect location

We’ve stayed at Arniston estate on numerous occasions, its location is perfect for getting into Edinburgh with the park and ride railway station only a 5 minute drive. It is also easy to explore the Scottish Borders. Its quiet and peaceful and offers everything you need.

Coming from the U.S. and communicating with the host was very easy and seamless. Letting her know that we would be arriving late made it easy to prepare for the check in process. There is a key box at the door. It was pitch dark at the property and I would suggest dim lighting if possible. We didn’t know what to expect and I’ll just say we rushed to get in the cottage. Beautiful property, cozy cottage and we would definitely stay there again. Full kitchen, WiFi, lot of room!!

An excellent and accidental find

A place with real charm and character, a really quiet retreat from the days of action with our grandchildren! We will definitely try to book again. It’s really outstanding and much better than we expected when we booked.

Elm tree stay

Elm tree was perfect for are requirements as it was so lovely and quiet at the location.And nice and close to we’re we wanted to visit on a daily basis.The only slight issue was that the log burner wasn’t the most efficient that I have dealt with.But a beautiful place and location

Beautiful location, fantastic cottage

We stayed here for my wifes birthday, we did a trip to edinburgh, and it was an easy 30 minute drive in to town (princes street parking is the most reasonably priced if you are doing the same) great showers at the end of long days. Henrietta was very helpful and everything went extremely smoothly. 100% will stay here again on our next trip
