The hosts were excellent, friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the bed and the sofa. The location was perfect. We enjoyed Shanklin and many places throughout the island.

The host John couldn't have been more welcomelng and helpful. There was a started pack in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful week.

Great base to explore Isle of Wight

Johanne and John are excellent hosts and really made our stay in Shanklin memorable. It was a short walk to bus train shops pub’s restaurants and the flat was extremely comfortable and cozy. 5 stars all round .

Amazing !

Extremely nice and friendly people, very efficient with responding when we needed help before arrival. Beautiful location cca 3min walking from the coast and beautiful house and amazing garden. We received very warm welcome with complimentary bottle of wine from the hosts. We absolutely loved it ❤️

Hidden gem

Johanne was very helpful with ferry information before we arrived. A warm welcome greeted us with lots of lovely touches in the apartment, which is hidden away on the side of Johanne and John's house. Whilst compact, the apartment is spotlessly clean, light, airy and equipped with everything you should need, with private garden area. We didn't realise just how steep the hills are but if you didn't want to take the car there is a bus stop to go into the town about 500 yds up the road.

This lovely little apartment was a perfect base for Island exploration. The owners and hosts, John and Johanne, are lovely. We received such a nice welcome; a guided tour of the property and a few little welcome treats! John and Johanne were very helpful and super friendly too.The accomodation has everything a couple could need, I took a lot with me, but didn't need to as everything was included. A lovely touch is the good sized fridge and freezer so you can actually get a decent amount of food in should you wish to in.The parking and accomodation are both very safe.The costal path to Shanklin and Sandown are just a stones throw away, but there is also great bus routes closeby too.All together we had a fantastic week and should we be able to return to the Isle of Wight, just thr 2 of us, we will hopefully be staying with John and Johanne again. Thank you for having us!!

IoW - Nigel & Lorraine

The property is a one bedroom apartment close to Shanklin beach, Shanklin old village and on a main route to access other areas. The hosts were very friendly and flexible with our check in times. Although fairly small the property makes great use of the space. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need - cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge / freezer, crockery & glasses. The bedroom/living/dining area is well laid out, the bed was comfortable. The shower was small but fully functional with both raindrop & flexible shower heads. The hosts also left a welcome pack for us. The driveway entrance is tight for a larger car and needs care when joining the main road as it’s on a hill & bend. Parking is off road at the property. There is a small garden area with table/2 chairs. In the summer period the sun is bright in the bedroom so black-out curtains on the wide patio doors might be an idea otherwise you get woken up at 4:00am on sunny days. A fan and perhaps an ice cube tray might also be a useful summer addition. The hosts live on the property so are available for any queries / help and to be fair we didn’t ask for any of these so they may have been available if needed. Overall it was a great property, well positioned, clean & tidy with very lovely hosts. We would use them again.

We live next door and always ready to be of assistance if needed, requests are always seen to as soon as we are made aware of them Any issues are best to be reported before departure in order to being resolved We supply most things considering the apartment is a self catering let, things like shower cream/shampoo, toilet paper, tea, coffee and a welcome pack with various snacks and bottled water Bedlinen and towels also provided Blackout curtains have now been fitted, thank you for your review

Lovely break

Perfect accommodation for two people for a short break. Close to beach and beach restaurants and bars. A very enjoyable stay.

Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay and Johanna and John are excellent hosts. The apartment is clean and neat and had everything we needed during our stay. It is also conveniently located and not far too walk to the beach where you’ll find a variety of cafes. The Salix Cafe was the best for a full English breakfast and you can walk all the way to Sandown Pier from there. The apartment feels very private with its own entrance and garden and the area is quiet. There is also ample secure parking.

Great for two

nice compact apartment with good secure parking space. 10 minutes walk from Shanklin beach 20 minutes walk to Shanklin village centre. good base for visiting all places on the island. well equipped Kitchen, nice garden to sit in although we didin't use it, ran out of time

Short break getaway

The property met all our expectations not suitable for people with Walking difficulties as many stones underfoot and on a very steep Hill for getting to town & beach also the owners assumed we would be leaving by 10am not as stated on our email and were knocking on The door at 10.06 No farewell or thank you for staying 😩

Gravel drive and slope as shown in photos. Note left in apartment to check out by 10am for extra cleaning and disinfection of same due to Covid-19. If keys were handed in on leaving we would have had the opportunity to say goodbye. Thank you for your comments

The Apartment was compact but well appointed and well equipped.

Obviously a lot of thought had gone into the needs of guests. The hosts were always available but discrete in keeping out of the way of guests. The kitchen is a tight squeeze at times but everything works well. The main room is tastefully furnished and has a comfortable bed. The outside area is small but very private. It's an ideal hideaway for a couple wanting peace and quiet.

LOVELY APARTMENT

The apartment was perfect and clean and tidy . Everything we needed was in there. We had a lovely welcome from the owners who showed us how everything worked and said they were close by if we needed anything. We had a really lovely stay.

Neat little studio flat.

Nice property. Well equipped and modern. Very welcoming owners. Only slight problem was one of those sofas they make now that collapses under you at the back and is therefore hard to get out of at our age but plenty of cushions to build it up.

Small self contained apartment

Lovely apartment with small outside sitting area. Owners very helpful. Close to town centre and not far from the beach . Bit of a hilly area need to be reasonably fit to stay here. Would stay here again

The apartment has a small front garden with a table and two seats and flower pots and it also has a reasonable size private garden at the back with very comfortable chairs and a round table, barbecue and rotary drier. Also lots of plants and a palm tree.

Perfect little paradise

We just came home from a two week stay at this beautiful fully equiped appartment. We loved the surroundings and there's a lot to do. Everything is in reach of the appartment. John & Johanne were the perfect hosts and welcomed us with a beer and a bottle of wine. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away, the appartment lies in a quiet area with a shop just further down the road. We would have loved to stay langer.

Friendly Greeting & Great Location!

Nice apartment set in lovely private gardens. Owners friendly and helpful, bottle of wine much appreciated! Just a short walk down to Shanklin seafront, the Old Village or the railway station. Lovely holiday, hope to return one day!
