Relaxing Break

Property well placed for easy access to coastal and forest walks. Property ideal for 2 couples with bedrooms separated by a communual living area and kitchen. Clean and comfortable with welcome pack for essentials. Dogs enjoyed walks along the local river estuary and beach. Local friendly pub but no food available this time.

Comfortable stay

Very comfortable cottage and welcome pack much appreciated. Shame there isn't a dishwasher. Location perfect. There are a few areas in the cottage which could do with some tlc such as chipped paint in the bathroom but doesn't affect use. Would stay again.

A perfect home from home

We loved our stay at Hen Golchdy in Abberfraw. Our cottage was just the right size for our family and right next to the most wonderful river, beach and sand dunes network we’ve ever visited. The walks from our doorstep to Rhosneigr or across the dunes were magical and we found the location to be a perfect base to explore the wider island delights. We look forward to our next visit for sure!

What a Joy

We’ve just returned from the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage in stunning Anglesey. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage is gorgeous, beautifully presented, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The location is simply breathtaking, with the beauty and tranquillity of Anglesey right on the doorstep. It was the perfect place to unwind, explore and enjoy some quality time together. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would happily return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended — a real little gem! ❤️

Great place to stay

Hen Golchdy is a very comfortable cottage with great facilities, well equipped and only a couple of minutes walk to the near by tea rooms.

A perfect place to enjoy nature.

A very comfortable, clean 2 bed cottage on the edge of an estuary which leads to the sea, a nature reserve and sand dunes. Good for seeing water and meadow birds. There is a really good cafe within the complex of cottages. Dogs are allowed on the sandy beach with no restrictions. I would have liked some recycling bins, instead of just a large general waste bin at the entrance to the complex.

2nd time staying here

Everything we expected and nothing we didn’t cottage was clean and tidy on arrival on the welcome pack well received. Communication with Anglesey Holiday letting dead excellent we will definitely be back. One small complaint was the lack of a wardrobe but not a problem really

lovely relaxing stay

Firstly the booking with anglesey holidays was easy ..the lady we spoke to was friendly and so helpful The cottage was beautifully clean ... it was well thought out and very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay..the welcome pack was much appreciated .. the bathrooms were lovely ..the showers are superb ( would have liked a shelf or basket for toiletries) Beds were comfortable and both bedrooms had plenty of drawers for storage.. lovely to have sheep and their lambs in the field next to the cottage ..there is an enclosed sitting area for the cottage and we found it very peaceful to sit outside the grounds are well maintained and there is a cafe on site lovely walks straight from the cottage ..forest walks only a short drive .. we found the island so pretty ..we had a super stay at the cottage and would definitely return

Winter break

Had a wonderful stay at Hen Golchdy. The communication from Anglesey lettings was excellent the app they sent with all the information was so helpful. The cottage itself was perfect ,exceptionally clean and had everything you could possibly need,the cottage is not too far from the beach so the car was not always needed,little shop nearby,local pub and handy tea room. Aberffraw is a lovely place with a stunning beach Superb place to stay if you have dogs or children Would definitely book again.

Second stay in these cottages and would return again. Perfect location.

We first stayed 2 years back February half term and had such fond memories so we booked again, but in the bigger cottage this time, it was huge! So cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time there, great cooking facilities, big fridge/freezer too. Both bedrooms had large ensuites. Beds were really comfy. High quality mattresses and bed linen plenty of fluffy white towels. Location is just perfect 5mins from the estuary and fantastic walks to the beaches and coves. Perfect for bird/nature spotting. Lovely cafe on site, GF options, good price and large portions. We would highly recommend it and I'm sure we will be back again. Aberffraw is just magical (even in Feb)

Enjoyed a lovely weekend Hen Golchdy Very comfortable cottage , clean & lovely and warm, we even had a few lambs visit in the window ledge Will definitely be returning as we live Aberffraw

Great holiday

Really enjoyed ourselves only wish we could have left the dogs a little just to go out for a meal but rules are rules.

Brilliant week in Anglesey

We had great week. Excellent cottage. Good location for exploring Anglesey. Watch sheep and RAF planes from the windows! Easy to find and well equipped. Comfortable beds. Great cafe on site. Could do with a few finishing touches like a shelf in both bathrooms and somewhere to hang your clothes - there is no wardrobe in either bedroom.

Ready for a refresh

I understand it was end of a season but having researched, location, layout (my Mum has dementia) we were very disappointed with the state of repair in the house. It obviously got a very basic clean between lets but there were cobwebs with thread spiders across the ceiling above the double bed, cracks and holes not sealed and painted in the walls and an oven (we cook from scratch) which didn’t heat up unless you put the grill on making the smoke alarms go off. We couldn’t even settle down in front of the TV as one armchair has very squeaky and uncomfortable springs and the sofa was impossible to get up out of even with a board already underneath the cushions. The bathroom for the twin room had a baby seat, a hoover and ironing board which should have been stored in a cupboard built in that space. My Mum kept walking into them. We even got dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher we didn’t have. The table looked like it had been revarnishes recently but the cork underside of the mats had got stuck to the table which even felt tacky. Only one side of the Podpoint EV charger worked but it was great having it just outside the property.
