We loved our stay

We loved our stay at Oyster cottage. Ideal with two bathrooms when visiting with family. The only criticism we had was some of the paving slabs were loose and uneven when walked on outside onbthe patio causing a potential trip hazard. Otherwise the cottage was lovely and would definitely return

Hello there, Many thanks for your wonderful five star review for Oyster cottage. We were very hard to make sure that it was maintained for our lovely guests to enjoy and we’re so glad you did. Thank you also for mentioning the slabs, we have repeatedly asked Away Resorts to repair these as this is their responsibility. It has been going on for a few months now however, with your feedback, I have sent this to them as a formal escalation so I thank you so much for doing that. Hopefully, we are ensure that this is done with immediate effect. Please do come back and spend some more time at Oyster. Alternatively, we also have Gingerbread Cottage which is available on Seaford Avenue, which is also just as lovely. Many thanks again and enjoy the rest of the year. Mark and Gaynor Rogers Owners

We would stay here again.

Very enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer. We were fortunate with the weather on most of the days, so it was good to have coffee on the upstairs veranda, as this is definitely more favourable than the downstairs one.

Great Stay

Beautiful cottage and we hardly watched tv due to the two wood pigeons who were nesting beside the patio doors. Watching nature at work was beautiful. We named them Woody and Winnie. We hope the next guests let them continue.

Oyster Cottage

Lovely House, Clean and Spacious. The only downside for me was the Wi-Fi didn’t work. I texted the number and WhatsApp messaged but no connection even though my phone had a signal. Yes I could have rang but just gave up. I did look and download the messages and emails prior to arrival but did not see any Wi-Fi codes. Once we got back I received an email with Wi-Fi code and network details. Maybe an A4 sheet with details of basics like these with shop opening times local attractions etc rather than just digital messaging.

Lovely cottage but AWFUL bed

This was a stay that could have been exceptional but due to a terrible mattress it spolit the weekend. The cottage is lovely, the facilities and location fab but the master bed was unacceptable. The bed us a small double due to the layoit of the room. That would have been ok if the mattress was high quality. Unfortunately it was awful. So soft and saggy that when we sat on it we actually thought the bed didnt have a frame underneath it. While mattresses are a personal preference eg hard, medium, firm.etc this mattress was tired, old and to me cheap and nasty. You can have a 5 star cottage with all the bells and whistles but if you then provide a cheap poor quality matress then it just brings the whole experience down. So going forward i really hope the owners recognise this and replace it as i wouldnt recommend a property that doesnt give you a comfortable nights sleep. If they fix that, then it would be somewhere we would stay again.

Last minute break

Beautiful cottage , very bright open plan property , large windows letting the light in , two lovely bedrooms , will be looking at going in the summer when you can open the bi-folding doors and enjoy the outdoor seating areas more .

Perfect stay at Oyster Cottage

Sunny week

Just what we needed, lovely weather, lots of walking and time to sit outside and relax in the sun. Jasper our dog loved the beach, lots of space to run around. Not too busy perfect get away.

Lovely Property in a Lovely Location

We enjoyed a very relaxing week at this property. It is very well maintained and in a lovely area! We have had a comfortable stay and enjoyed all that Bay Filey has to offer. Booking and correspondence were great. We had no issues during our stay!

Lovely stay

We had a great stay at oyster cottage. The bay Filey is a great place - close to beach in a beautiful location. We had stayed in another cottage previously. Loved the massive windows in the bedrooms and the house lay out was fab. Location was ok, but as the site has been expanded it doesn’t have the view it would have had previously. Plenty of parking. Was disappointed it didn’t have an outside bbq facility - but we had friends staying on another cottage who did. It needs a review of its housewares - cups and glasses and a couple of extra sharp knives. There were only two of us so we did ok - but when we hosted friends from another holiday home it was sparse so we had to improvise. It could benefit from an air fryer. We like to do a mix of cooking and eating out. All the equipment was fine and working. Overall a lovely stay with many positives. We would consider again.

We cant have a BBQ sadly due to the balcony being over it and for fumes so this is something we dont advertise and cant provide - apologies you didn't see this when booking. We did go immediately to check the cupboards and can only think you didn't see all the equipment in the sideboard (there is a note saying to use it from here in the guide?) We have checked and the house immediately after your departure had: 8 cups 18 glasses 8 plates 8 small plates 8 bowls 6 sharp knives If you had contacted us as advised whilst you were there we could have signposted these things for you . Lovely cottage, had everything we needed.

Lovely looking cottage, clean and comfortable. This cottage is light and bright with four sets of bifold doors, two downstairs and in the bedrooms leading to a balcony. Three adults, two children and two dogs stayed and we had plenty of room even on the rainy days!
