Luxury private lanzavillarental with panoramic sea views

This guest received a full refund. Please do not allow this guests "revenge review" to form your judgement, but rather, please kindly read on & let the overwhelmingly positive experiences of our past guest reviews serve as a testament to our properties quality and the guests experience. We are totally dedicated to our guests enjoyment of this beautiful property and to their full holiday satisfaction. Please be assured that in our 25 years experience we have thankfully never ever come across such a troublsome/troubled individual. Apart from the fact that we did in the end give up on dealing with her, and eventually agreed with her that she should find alternative accommodation, there is not another single word of truth in her review, which is quite plainly a weaponized "revenge review".

Hi Steve Thank you for your lovely review we would be delighted to have you back. Sincerely sorry to hear of your confusion regarding the AC, if you had only asked me during your stay or perhaps informed me that you didn't know how to work the AC, I would as always have been only delighted to help and assist in every way possible. As posted on the villas VRBO webpage description, the AC is coin metered at the utility providers cost price, which is cheap ( perhaps €2 to €3 per night ), but it adds up quickly if not used properly eg. should it be left running 24/7 with all the doors and windows left open, which funny enough was a regular occurrence until we installed the meter, it could cost up to €700 per week, plus the fact that before the meter was installed it was not unusual to have several fairly expensive AC maintenance company service callouts because the AC units would freeze up, then seize up and stop working completely, due to the mis-use already mentioned above. In other words much like a household fridge freezes up and goes a little crazy when the door has been left open, and the thermostats cannot turn ON and OFF or work properly causing malfunction. And then on top of that we had complaints from the guests that the AC wasn't working properly, and it would be very hard to explain to them that this situation was caused and was due to their own actions. For environmental reasons AC meters are now standard protocol in all rental properties. Please do bear in mind that this villa has been architecturally designed in the Old Spanish style, thereby taking advantage of the properties strategic location in respect of Lanzarotes tradewinds which are a constant, to remain cool during night and day by simply opening the windows and leaving air circulate naturally. Many guests prefer natural air circulation and do not use the AC. My advice in this or any property offering AC as an amenity, try to climatise with the natural air circulation for the first night or two, by not turning on the AC at all, even at night and see how you get on, because if you turn it on the first night, then you will need to turn it on for the duration.

Nasty drunk!!!! There are, as always, 2 sides to every story. Please let me defend myself with my side of this particular story. This guest, her husband and 2 teenage children were booked to stay 14 nights from Tuesday July 9th through to Tuesday July 23rd 2024. Unsolicited emails received from her gushed that the villa was beautiful everything was fantastic and they were having a great holiday. The Husband and teenage son flew back home on Sunday 21st July leaving his wife and teenage daughter in the villa until their scheduled departure on the following Tuesday 23rd July. Late on the same Sunday evening of 21st July we received an urgent email message that they had accidentally locked themselves out of the villa...as it transpired, among many other lessons, we learned over the next few hours that they had left the main villa keys on the inside of the door lock and the second set of keys on the hallway console table...all very understandable as this has happened to everyone at some time or another. We diligently set about our task of regaining entry to the villa for our 2 drunken desperadoes, however and unfortunately, being late on Sunday evening it was not possible to contact our locksmith, bearing in mind the keys were left on the inside of the door lock, a spare key was not going to open the door from the outside, so a locksmith was most definitely required...our guests....pissed as coots...were given the next door villa for the night, incoming guests to this villa

Dear Jeanette It is with dismay that I read your review, and especially so, seeing as your arrival email indicated that both of you were delighted with the standard of the villa, along with your departure email in which you emphasized that you really enjoyed the villa, its amenities and the break. There are more than 20 testimonial reviews for our villa, all of which without exception emphasize that the villa is of 5 star standard.. I am sorry to hear that you were tired or exhausted due to lack of sleep brought about by your partners loud snoring. It is unfortunate that you did not take the time to read our unique and very clearly posted pricing structure regarding our 1, 2 , or 3 bedroom rates, please be assured that had you informed me at any stage regarding the loud snoring situation, a 2nd bedroom would have been made available to you at no extra cost, you might also at the time have brought to my attention the running toilet cistern which would have been dealt with on the spot by my management team. The point is, that all of these issues would have become non-issues immediately had you brought them to my attention in-situ, but it is somewhat unfair to voice your complaints in this way on this platform this late in the day, as there is very little that can be done when you make these type of complaints some 6 weeks after your departure. Again, please be assured that had you brought these matters to my attention while you were in the villa, they would have been addressed and remedied immediately. In respect of some of your other issues, these matters could and would have been rectified had you taken the time to read the villas directory/instruction manual, said manual being located within the villa in a most prominent location. The pool does not have cracks, this is simply not possible with a lined pool, what you witnessed is Calima sand ( windborne dust from the nearby Sahara desert ), which is normal and explained comprehensively in the villas manual. The colour of the light in the hot-tub can be changed by pressing and holding the correct button for 4 seconds, the blue light simply indicates that the hot-tub has reached the correct temperature and is "ready" for use. All of these details are clearly laid out in the villas manual. The Air conditioning, metered as it is to the utility owners cost price and which is very very reasonable and cheap, is exactly as described and clearly posted on the villas webpage Warmest regards Shirley
