The Art Studio – A Beautiful Family Home in the Heart of Nature

The property is a spacious and beautifully renovated semi-detached country house, with excellent indoor and outdoor dining, including 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Suitable for 12 adults (Bedrooms 1-6) and 2 children (Bedroom 7).

Nestled in two acres of mature woodland on the edge of the New Forest, this retreat has direct access to Ringwood Forest and is perfect for families, friends, and couples.

Designed for two families or larger groups, the Art Studio offers:

A Private Gateway to Nature

The Art Studio borders and offers direct access to Ringwood Forest, the Castleman Trailway and Moors Valley Country Park making cycling, hiking, and wildlife spotting as easy as stepping outside. Keep an eye out for deer, rabbits, squirrels, and a variety of birds that call this land home. Listen to the daily morning chorus of birds.

A Unique Historical Touch

The main living room of the property was an Art Studio built in 1904. On-site, you’ll also discover a restored World War II army bunker, now transformed into an authentic Finnish Sauna and heated plunge pool (1.8m x 1.8m) – a truly one-of-a-kind experience. (Available by request at a fee – ask for details.)

We loved the cosy warmth of the wood burner on arrival. The open plan sitting & dining area was spacious enough to easily accommodate our party of 14 plus dogs. The hot tub was a big success as was having such easy access to the forest. A great weekend!

The property is beautiful inside and out. They had everything needed onsite and went above and beyond- i.e coal, firewood, laundry and dishwasher tablets included. Highly recommend the Italian Chef - food was incredible. Host and chefs were so welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Lovely property with some great outdoor space. The hot tub was fantastic. Very good communication with the owners, and our group had a super weekend. The one negative was the close proximity of the house to a busy main road, which is mostly blocked out with the windows and doors closed. All in all though highly recommended.

The property was lovely and spacious with lots of outdoor seating in the interesting gardens. The nearby management promptly dealt with our minor questions. My only minor criticism is that the main road (a31) is nearby and can be busy.The nearby woods are great for largely flat walks. Might take bikes next time.

Amazing propety and hosts

We are just back from what has been an amazing weekend away. The property is beautiful and has a lovely, calm energy about it, with lovely walks into the country park. Thank you to Timo who was on hand to assist us and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay...nothing was too much trouble!!

Group Cycling Trip

The place is incredible. A full kitchen for cooking, a beautiful garden to relax in, and the hot tub and sauna are fab. Timo is fantastic and made the check-in experience perfect.Highly recommend.

A very enjoyable stay for a family get together

We especially loved the extensive garden with seating areas for all hours of the day and easy access to the forest. Inside, the property is very well equipped and general areas are spacious, but we felt the bedrooms were rather small, particularly the attic bedrooms which are only really suitable for children with no bathroom upstairs. We visited Beaulieu one day and Brownsea island the next, both within easy driving distance and thoroughly enjoyed both days. Ringwood is convenient for restaurants, take aways and shopping too.

Easter weekend

Such a fabulous property. The location is fabulous. So lovely to be able to walk straight into the woods. The only slight issue for us were the 3 twin bedded rooms. They are situated in the attic space, so very small with slanted roofs. Ideal for kids, but not adults.

Cycling tour

We found this a great location for our 3 day cycling tour of the 2 forests (10 cycling with 2 back up cars) We also used Luigi the resident chef on the Saturday night for our GALA dinner.

Great outdoor spaces

Lovely host who was very helpful and friendly. The forte of this property is the number of great outside spaces to sit. Some shade, some sunny. And the garden gate opens onto the Forest where it’s a nice walk to Moors Valley Country Park which is great for kids but also nice for adults. Upstairs bedrooms not really suitable for little ones because of the steep stairs. Recommended.

The property is set in fantastic grounds backing onto a woodland area perfect for walks and close to Moors Valley Country Park. We also had a great couple of meals from Luigi the local chef who cooked for us on 2 evenings.

The Art Studio is one of 5 rental properties managed by our family -- a small holiday rental business which has been running for 40 years. Steven and Susanna own the Art Studio and Steven's son, Timo, manages the days to day activities with the help of his sister, Elina. Timo will be your host and look after you during your stay. An Italian Chef Luigi, a close family friend, is available for Italian dining experience also!

The property is conveniently located outside of Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest and with quick access to beaches of Bournemouth. The property was built in 1905 as an Art Studio for my Great Grandmother who was an accomplished painter. The Art Studio's main living room was designed with roof high north facing windows which maximise natural light, which now provides beautiful views to the gardens and forest. Six generations of our family have lived in this family home, and has now been remodelled and refurnished as a holiday rental. The house layout is spacious and ideal for large family groups who love cooking and indoor / outdoor dining.
The house backs on to the Horton Road, which although gives some traffic noise, ensures very good access to Ringwood and Bournemouth, which is literally 12 mins drive from your front door!

The property is on the edge of the Dorset/Hampshire border, backing on to Ringwood Forest, the western edge of the New Forest and is only 10 mins drive to the beaches of Bournemouth. The property is large and a blend of the modern & traditional, with ample indoor and outdoor dining possibilities, equipped with a modern kitchen (2021), modern bathrooms, and large tables ideal for family dining and get-togethers. The property has two log burning fire stoves giving you that cosy 'cottagey' experience in the winter months. We also have a WW2 Army Bunker on the edge of the Forest which we have converted into a modern Finnish Sauna & plunge pool, and is available for booking.
