The ocean view is absolutely unbeatable! The owners truly don’t cut corners—everything is high quality. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the toilet paper isn’t the cheap one-ply kind, the linens are lovely, and even the pots and pans are great. I felt extremely safe and completely at home.. We really didn't want to leave.

The house is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is quiet. The view is amazing. A great place to stay and we would definately stay again when visiting Cambria.

Absolutely Wonderful!

We had a very relaxing stay. We saw a mama fox and 5 young fox trapsing through the neighbor's yard. We saw many deer and just got to sit and relax on the back porch admiring the ocean. Every person we saw or met either waved or said hello. Many with their dogs so our dog was happy! Enjoyed the older generational feel of Cambria. A very laid back community.

Great spot in Cambria. We go to Cambria every year for the last 20 yrs. or so. This was one of the best. Very clean, tidy..

Cambria Visit

We stayed 4 days had a wonderful time. The set up of the house worked well for our family. Beautifully remodeled and a beautiful water view. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view, clean and cozy

We loved our stay here. We only used the upstairs portion of the rental….. it was well equipped and clean. The fireplace is nice and cozy and the view is outstanding. Will consider staying here again in the future.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay in this home. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the ocean view with deer and turkeys in the foreground. Everything was clean and both levels were updated/ remodeled. Some things to be aware of that did not really affect us were that there was no dishwasher or garbage disposal, the lower apartment had a musty smell even though a fan was on high when we arrived, the lower bathroom did not have a working fan, and the only source of heat in the lower unit seemed to be the fireplace in the bedroom. Both beds were comfortable and the windows/ sliding doors allowed for good air circulation. It was perfect for two couples.

This was a really nice home, it seems to have been recently renovated as everything was in very good, new condition. The kitchen was very nicely supplied, everything I needed to cook was available. There was a bunch of spices, salt, pepper, sugar, and a few K-cups for coffee, which was nice. Also, there was a drip coffee maker and filters. No dishwasher, which might be a problem for some people.The living room was also very comfortable, and adjacent to the kitchen, big enough for 4 adults. I wouldn't recommend more people staying here, unless it's smaller kids. The gas fireplace was very effective and cozy on a few chilly nights. The outside upper deck had four Adirondack chairs, the lower level had two. The lower bedroom is separate from the upper living room & bedroom. It requires a walk down the outside stairs. Kinda different, but actually nice for two adult couples. As other people have noted, there is a musty smell in the lower unit. They have a large, very loud de-humidifier running, but I would recommend property mgmt. adds an air cleaner. If we could have left the windows open it would've been less noticeable, but it was too chilly for that. Other than that, it was a very nice suite with the fireplace by the bed and view of the ocean. One other note is my T-Mobile iPhone did not have service in Cambria (or mostly at all in the area, at least up to Ragged Point). I did not have roaming on, which could be why. My husband had Verizon/Android and that worked.

Beautiful View, Great Management Co Service, That's it

This review is really about 2 extremes. After checking in, my family went to the house to immediately discover two important things: 1) The upstairs and the downstairs are not linked inside of the house. To go from the primary bedroom (downstairs) to the living room and kitchen (upstairs) you must walk outside and lock the door behind you. 2) There's no heat downstairs. There is a fireplace, but the downstairs portion lacks central heat. We were traveling with an 18 month old, so both of these factors were non-starters for us... Here's where the good comes in. The management company handled the issue exactly how it should have been addressed. I called them, explained the situation, and they gave me 3 options on how to move forward -- 1) Stay at the house we had booked and figure out a source of heat. 2) Switch to another house they owned for the same price. 3) Get a total refund, and we could go try to find lodging elsewhere. The woman I worked with at the management co could not have been nicer about the whole thing, and I got the sense that people perhaps frequently have issues with this unit. We elected to switch to another house, and had a great trip. Unless you're in a very specific circumstances (I.E. maybe 2 couples traveling and you want your own space), I would avoid this house. It's not a good set up for families, and given how cold Cambria is, a house not having central heat is not okay. Skip this place, but do book somewhere else with Scenic Coast Management.

The place is very cute and spacious with the greatest view. You see deer morning, afternoon and evening. You hear the sea lions in the morning and night. The kitchen is fully equipped. The upstairs and downstairs are not attached, but that worked for privacy purposes. It was such a great place to stay and very quiet.

Bring binoculars so that you can truly enjoy seeing them up close. There is a rock in the distance where they hang out. This home has all the things you will need to enjoy your stay. From paper products to shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc. the hosts have thought of everything. The house is very clean.The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, lots of deer and birds that visit the yard. Pretty landscaping as well. Having two separate units was nice for our family of adult children. The location was perfect for visiting Hearst Castle, seeing elephant seals, Morro Bay, and driving north as far as possible on route 1. Favorite restaurant - Linn's - the food and atmosphere are fantastic! Farm to table and so fresh, the best dinner I've had in a long time.We would definitely stay here again if doing another central coast vacation.

Love Cambria

Reviewer Comments: The house was very comfortable and clean however I hope the owners will switch to fragrance free laundry soaps as the sheets and towels were extremely chemical fragranced and as a person alergic to fragrances I needed to wash them (twice!) in vinegar to get the fragrances out enough to sleep in them.

Perfect Cambria Get Away

Amazing location to experience Cambria and the surrounding area. Short walk or drive to ocean views or bluff walk. Wonderful sunset watching from the deck.

We love and appreciate all the beauty in this part of God's beautiful creation: the peace and quiet, the wildlife, walking on the bluffs, and just being near the ocean and hearing the surf.This house, while not large, suits us perfectly. It is always very clean and the owners are constantly making improvements. We are able to take daily walks to the ocean from it and the view is beautiful.The microwave is located quite high and shorter people may have a hard time reaching it.

Fabulous Ocean View - Not So Fabulous Downstairs

The home is 2 separate units, upstairs has 1 small bedroom and downstairs has a small kitchen bath and a large bedroom. The downstairs smelled so bad we were unable to use it. They had an air filter going full time and we cracked the windows hoping that would help but it didn't. There is a futon in the upstairs living room so if you need 2 beds it works. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. Even with all the home's shortcomings, the ocean view was more than worth it to us.

Despite the "pandemic," there was plenty of great walking and, as per its namesake, a great deal of breathtaking views.The upper story of the house was comfortable. The living/dining room, the bedroom, and the bathroom were quite adequate for the size of the house. The kitchen was also acceptable with a new set of pots and pans and enough utensils to provide for the great deal of cooking we enjoyed doing during our stay. I must say that unless you are of fair height you might have a problem using the microwave: however, it was better to have it than not. All-in-all, we found the house both clean and well maintained. The downstairs apartment is a quite inviting and wonderful set of rooms for weekend guests.We enjoyed several of the walking paths within a 15-20 minute drive from the house, as well as trips to San Simeon and the "must see" elephant seal beach---enough to make anyone giggle at the grossness. We have previously gone on the guided lighthouse tour. It was well done and was worth the price of admission. We also enjoyed the Friday farmers market in Cambria and the Thursday version at Spencer's Market between Cayucos and Morro Bay. Coming from frozen Minnesota, we welcomed a chance to buy local produce and artisan foods. Restaurants were certainly available, but we did most of our own cooking. We did frequent Boni's Tacos several times, and have enjoyed Linn's and Robin's as well.We also got to experience a rare 3-day-10-inch rain storm that doused the power for periods of time---though nothing too inconvenient for the needed water.All in all, we were sorry to leave.

Reviewer Comments: Great location for the view, house was very clean and comfortable. 70s house that has been mostly nicely cosmetically upgraded, except for the showerheads which are the old style low flow ones issued about 20 years ago., and the super low toilet and sink upstairs. Understood that water is precious, but the showerhead spray was actually painful, and my husband related it to being "sandblasted" by water. Please consider making that small upgrade, as that was my only complaint.
