An ideal place to base yourselves, whether you're seeking to relax in peaceful and beautiful surroundings or desire a fun-packed activity holiday, which could include exploring the vast and varied wild beauty of North West Sutherland's landscape; hill walking, sea and fresh water fishing, golf, ornithology, sailing, stalking, climbing or just lazing on secluded white sandy beaches.
Return to the warmth of this cosy cottage with every amenity.
Bedroom 1 Kingsize.
Nextdoor is a bathroom with bath and toilet.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds and luxury en-suite shower room. Room also has a desk.
Open plan lounge/kitchen with full height windows overlooking the Kyle. Cosy wood burning stove plus underfloor heating throughout, WiFi, television, DVD player and ipod/iphone dock. Fully equipped modern kitchen with integral oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. The cottage has private parking outside the cottage.
On the paved area outside there is a picnic table plus a a large umbrella.
Up to two dogs allowed in this cottage. @ £30.00 per dog.The paved garden is not fenced over the entrance.

Shore Cottage is an excellent property for a holiday in a beautiful, remote corner of Scotland. The cottage is very well appointed and decorated to a high standard. The hosts were very helpful with clear instructions about how to get there. We would very much recommend this property- we'll certainly be returning for another visit.

Shore Cottage was clean, comfortable, very well equipped and had the most beautiful view from the main window out across the Kyle! Our stay was peaceful and relaxed and we enjoyed visits to Cape Wrath, Smoo Cave and Balnakeil to name but a few! The golf club at Balkaniel provided a lovely lunch! We can heartily recommend a stay at Shore Cottage.

Lovely accommodation and very comfortable for a holiday stay. Stunning views looking down the sea loch. Cottage is conveniently located for services in Durness and only a two minute walk to the passenger ferry over to Cape Wrath. Second visit to Shore Cottage and highly recommend.

Lovely cottage with spectacular views. Very well equipped , we had everything we could need. All rooms were spotless and cosy. Plenty private parking space and room for the dogs to wander outside. Excellent wifi and freeview tv. Only issue i would say we had was the noise from extractor fan in the bathroom which was very loud when trying to relax in the bath. Definitely worth a stay if you are in the area.

Fabulous property in an amazing location. Cottage had everything you could need and very well laid out. Owners were excellent and really helpful, particularly when our ferry to Orkney was cancelled. The view is incredible, in all weather. In better weather an otter can be seen close to the cottage either in the water or at the shoreline. Loads of beaches and walks within easy distance. Faraid head was a highlight. Hope to return.

Had the most wonderful stay at Shore Cottage, stunning cosy wee place, clean & tidy & had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! Waking up to that spectacular view every morning is something you would never tire of!Great base for us to explore the surrounding areas which is such a beautiful part of our country!Thanks for letting us stay & we most definitely will be back in the near future…..gonna miss this place & of course the peace & quiet!

Great spot in Durness

Super location and accommodation. Very clean with great showers and very comfortable beds. Beautiful views of the sea and hills. Highly recommended.

Shore Cottage is a fantastic place to stay. The cottage is very clean and well equipped. The location is a real bonus as you can walk around the coastline from the door and watching the ever changing view out the front of the property is mesmerising whatever the weather. We have already booked to return.

Fabulous cottage, with an amazing vista of the Kyle and ample parking. So peaceful and relaxing, yet within easy reach of other beautiful, beaches, bays and places of interest. Durness itself has a well stocked shop and 24 hour fuel if required. Cape wrath, Smoo cave and cocoa mountain are all just minutes away.

My husband David and I have been coming up to Durness for over 44 years so know the area pretty well. David's great grandfather came up here at the turn of the century to help break in the ground for sheep farming.
Balnakiel Farm was one of the original family farms. It has now been split into two and David now runs Rhigolter Farm. We live in Essex as he works as a Hand Surgeon in Southend.
Our two children have been coming up here each year and now bring our grandchildren who love it up here.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

This cottage was a tumbledown shed for years on the roadside. Our friends Bernard and Irene Hendy bought the Cape Wrath Hotel in 2006. It was with great excitement we watched as they converted the Lodge into a magnificent house and Shore Cottage was rebuilt into this wonderful little oasis it is today. We are delighted to become the new owners.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

As Shore and Kyleview Cottages come under the umbrella of Cape Wrath Lodge there is a resident housekeeper who lives in the Annexe flat at the rear of the Lodge. Her name is Marta and can easily be contacted with any problems or requests. Being so close to the shoreline otters can be seen playing in the evenings out of the huge windows. The ever changing tide constantly brings magnificent views and birdlife.
