Beautiful house in gorgeous garden setting

Beautiful house in gorgeous garden setting. Spacious and clean, with private pool and locally situated. We enjoyed our stay as a family of four and would return. It's a short walk to town; ideal for shopping or dining out. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals. We liked visiting local villages, castles and gardens.

Beautiful property in a super location

We found this property to be very well equipped and furnished and clean. It has all modern conveniences whilst keeping a French farmhouse feel. For a family with 2 teenage boys it was perfect as there was plenty of room and 2 of the bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house to the main bedroom, with a separate staircase. This unusual layout may not suit those with young children. We particularly enjoyed the spacious gardens, outside terrace and pool area. The property is set about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Sarlat so it is extremely quiet and peaceful but with all the facilities just a few minutes away. The booking process was easy and Karen answered all our questions and was easy to deal with. We would be happy to recommend this property to our friends.....but would rather keep it to ourselves!

Lovely property in a great location

We were very impressed with this property. The garden was meticulously maintained, and the pool was perfect after a hot day out sightseeing. Communication with Karen was easy and she even gave us restaurant recommendations and called one of them for us to put in a reservation before we arrived in France. The pool gate was a great relief to us since we had a young child traveling with us, and it completely closed off the pool and was kept locked with a code for safety. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. This hasn't been my experience with all rental properties, which was much appreciated as we were traveling abroad and could not really bring kitchen essentials with us. Stairs are a bit steep, but it was no problem for us. If you have someone who can't do stairs in your party, that might be an issue for you. There are handrails on both sets of stairs. The location is ideal as you can easily walk into Sarlat for dining or whatever you need, but it's also easy to drive out of town to get to the grocery store or explore all the many amazing sights of the Dordogne. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to this area!

Superbe séjour à Sarlat

La villa La Peyriere est très bien équipée et bien située. Au calme, avec un beau jardin il suffit d’un petit quart d’heure pour rejoindre le centre ville animé de Sarlat.

Petit coin de paradis

Nous avons séjourné une semaine et il nous a manqué une autre semaine pour pouvoir apprécier pleinement tous les plaisirs de la région. La maison est conforme à la description bien située près du village ellle a beaucoup de charme. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Just wonderful!

This villa was just wonderful. It is well laid out, comfortable and the gardens/pool are perfect for a holiday break. We used the pool most days, went into Sarlat every day too. Lovely BBQ areas should you wish to use. The eateries in the medieval quarter are well worth visiting, we didn't have one bad meal. Explore the side streets for architecture and galleries, there were plenty of exhibitions when we went. Karen couldn't have improved on her pleasant efficiency, a real delight to deal with and incredibly helpful. Thank you Karen, we will return.

A wonderful villa with all the ingredients for a memorable holiday - July 2018

This was our second stay at Villa La Peyriere. Our first visit was during May, two years ago, and whilst we really loved the villa, the location and the outdoor spaces the weather was so awful that we were unable to make full use of its wonderful facilities and activities in the area were limited. Thankfully, this time the weather was much kinder to us – 2 weeks of brilliant sunshine! The villa and surrounding garden and pool areas are very well kept and maintained - a new kitchen, bathroom and fireplace has been installed since our last visit and the patio furniture replaced. We have holidayed in France for many years now and this is undoubtedly the best 6 person villa we have stayed in. On this occasion we were here with our two daughters and their partners and the layout of the villa is such that we were able to enjoy plenty of quality family time, both inside and out, without privacy being compromised. The villa is ideally situated, in peaceful surroundings but within walking distance of Sarlat, and with plenty of activities and attractions nearby to satisfy the needs of us all. Additionally, for those who like wildlife, there is an abundance of red squirrels and birdlife and the occasional deer was seen in the garden. Needless to say, it met all our expectations and we all enjoyed a wonderful stress-free holiday. We would whole-heartedly recommend a holiday here.

Perfect place in a perfect town

We stayed at La Peyiere for multiple weeks late Spring 2018. Everything about the house and location were perfect. La Peyriere is really ideal in that the house and gardens are serene and private, and yet the center of Sarlat is only a quick ten minute walk (maybe a bit longer coming back from town, uphill). It's easy to park your car at the house and drive through the spectacular Perigard countryside. The house combines old Perigard golden stone construction, with lots of windows, and modern amenities with brand new kitchen appliances. Everything was spotless, comfortable and well appointed. Two different couples stayed with us during parts of our rental, and they were blown away. It was nice that they also had a great time, and that La Peyriere gave us a great opportunity to be gracious hosts. The communication with both the owners and the local staff was outstanding. They proactively reached out to us several times to make sure that everything was in order, which was greatly appreciated even though we had no issues or requests. Although we had very high expectations prior to arriving, they were all met or exceeded. We've stayed at many vacation rentals around the world, and can't rate La Peyriere or the owners highly enough.

Excellent

We enjoyed a brilliant week at La Peyriere. Secluded and yet ready access to the fantastic town of Sarlat allowed brilliant BBQ's and pool side lunches in equal measure to the countless restaurants and bistros. The property offered a number of gardens for the kids to explore and we were pleasantly impressed with the high standard of electrical equipment in the house. We look forward to visiting again.

Perfect family holiday in stylish, spacious and beautifully furnished stone villa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa la Peyriere in August this year. The house is close to everything we needed with many places to eat, explore and shop right on our doorstep but secluded and private enough to allow us to feel as if we had 'got away from it all'. The house, gardens and pool, all carefully maintained, were perfect for our needs (three generations of one family) with space to play games, read, eat and relax both inside and out. The weather was very warm while we were staying and the pool and the shade provided by the trees and the impressive sun umbrella on the terrace by the house, meant we could comfortably enjoy being outside however hot it was. The gardens are really lovely and we did our best to keep the pots watered as it was very hot on some days. There is much to do in the surrounding area and the owners were most helpful in providing suggestions for places to visit and activities to try. While we did get out to visit local chateaux, markets and of course the stunning medieval quarter of Sarlat itself, we also spent a lot of time around the house and gardens, as we were looking for a relaxing break. Villa la Peyriere did not disappoint! We would love to return, perhaps at a different time of year, and would recommend the villa to others without hesitation.

Another couple of weeks in Karen's excellent villa. This is our 4th time and as a family we've loved everything about it, from its location, walking distance to Sarlat, to its facilities. This year Karen has upgraded the kitchen and the patio furniture. Great facilities, lovely home and we love being there. Well done Karen.

Lovely Villa in Fabulous Setting

The villa is superbly located within easy walking distance (10 minutes) of the medieval town of Sarlat with its beautiful architecture, markets and numerous restaurants. The villa itself is situated on a private driveway on a hill with wonderful views across the valley. It is very comfortable and well appointed and was spotlessly clean. But the gardens, terrace and pool areas make it really special. There are so many places to sit, either by the pool in the sun or under shady trees, on the terrace or in the gardens . We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing holiday. Being so close to the town meant that we could walk down to one of the restaurants in the evening without needing to take the car. If you enjoy wine with your meal, that's a real bonus! This was our first visit to the Dordogne and it won't be our last. The villa made an excellent base and we highly recommend it.

Excellent holiday

We really enjoyed our stay. Especially eating out on the lovely terrace. Very relaxing, even with two young kids 2 and 4). The pool is also very safe for young children as it is all fenced off. There are three garden areas for the kids to run around in, all different and appealing. The owner, karen is very helpful and fast to respond to queries. We left house/car keys behind by accident and she insisted on sending them to us with no charge. We only had minor issues that could be addressed eg propane gas was empty on arrival and took a couple of days to fix. Thats worth half a star, but since you can't do 4.5... Overall we had a great stay and csn recommend this property. Sarlat is a beautiful town, and the surrounding area is special. Lots for adults snd kids to do.

Great House in a beautiful town

We stayed in Villa La Peyriere in for a week in May 2015. A beautiful house with well maintained garden and pool it was a short walk to the centre of Sarlat. The house was the best, cleanest and most well maintained of our three month european trip. We would recommend Villa la Peyriere to families looking for value for money accommodation in one of France's most beautiful locations. A pleasant villa

Villa La Peyriere is a pleasant property set on lovely grounds that provide a relaxing setting after exploring Sarlat and its surrounds. The villa has all the facilities you would want. It led to a 'no problems' stay where one could just relax. My only caution would be unfit elderly people may find it a challenge if they were walking to the villa back from the old town as the climb is a bit steep, as are the stairs to the bedrooms. But for most people it is a comfortable stay conveniently located and well worth renting.

Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir

Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement dans cette maison spacieuse, bien agencée, ou rien ne manque. A défaut de profiter de la piscine en cette saison, nous avons profité de la cheminée. C'était aussi un vrai bonheur que les draps soient fournis et les lits faits à notre arrivée, après notre long voyage. A noter l'excellent rapport qualité prix. Nous vous recommandons cette location ,vous ne serez pas décus.

Au calme, très proche du centre de Sarlat

La maison n'est pas en bordure de route, elle est un peu en hauteur et bénéficie donc d'un calme appréciable. Les espaces intérieurs sont grands et fonctionnels. L'équipement de la maison est amplement suffisant pour des vacances. La piscine est un peu petite mais l'espace autour permet d'être à l'aise à 6 personnes. Le vrai atout est la situation de la maison. 5 à 10 minutes à pied la séparent du centre de Sarlat. Vous pouvez même emprunter un petit sentier qui longe le jardin arrière pour descendre jusque la route. Enfin, Karen est très disponible et répond à toutes vos questions.

Location recommandée !

Nous sommes très contents de notre séjour !!! L'acceuil était très agréable et nous avons été bien conseillé pour nos activités. La maison est au calme et spatieuse, le petit plus est évidemment la piscine. Bref, nous n'avions pas envie de partir.

Nous avons passé un séjour formidable! La maison est très propre, bien équipée avec une piscine idéale pour toute la famille. Nous étions 4 adultes et 4 enfants (entre 3 et 6 ans). Nous avons été très bien acceuillis avec tous les informations nécessaires. Vraiment à recommander!
