The Treehouse er en anden etagers 2 værelses lejlighed, 28x32. Det har en komplet bad w / badekar / brusekombination, en varmepumpe med elektrisk varme og køling, en rækkevidde og køleskab. Der er en vaskemaskine og tørretumbler og 1/2 bad i stueetagen. Opbevaring kun på første sal. Fantastisk til cykler, hvis du medbringer nogle. Den rummelige opholdsstue med hvælvet loft har en dronning sovesofa. Opholdsområdet åbner ud på et dæk gennem glasskydedøre. Der er en elektrisk grill. Bredden af Bass Harbour ligger kun en kort gåtur ned ad indkørslen, hvor der er en fælles dock med to andre hytter, en robåd og kajakker til vores lejere.
Fra dette hyggelige rum i en autentisk fiskerlandsby kan du besøge Acadia National Park, Somes Sound (den eneste fjord på østkysten) og masser af butikker, museer og gallerier i vores 3 øbyer. Utallige kunstnere og kunsthåndværkere drages til regionen af dens naturlige skønhed. Udendørs eventyr bugner i dette barske landskab. A great spot to use as a base for exploring Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. The property was immaculately clean and well-maintained and well stocked with kitchen utensils, table settings, towels and bedding. The grounds, shared with several other cottages managed by the owners, were very pleasant and we enjoyed rowing around Bass Harbor from the shared private dock. The location is on the quieter side of Mount Desert, which we preferred, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a few great restaurants and coffee shops in nearby Southwest Harbor, a short drive away, while Bar Harbor was an easy and pleasant 20 to 30 minute drive even during our late August visit. The hosts were on site daily managing the cottages on the property and were very responsive to questions and requests.

Sandy, the host, was kind and friendly and the cleanliness of the apartment was outstanding, as was the ease of visiting all the harbors, restaurants and Acadia. Everything is beautiful!Although the listing says it’s air-conditioned, the bedrooms are not and even with an electric fan in each, the heat was uncomfortable and made it difficult to sleep. The listing said Waterfront. There is no view of water. Our view from the living room because the poor trees have dead branches, was a driveway leading to a maintenance lot and other lodgings. The gravel road was noisy as pick-up trucks and cars often went in and out.There is a bay two minutes from the apartment and I was excited by the photos in the listing and eager to use the boats. I was ignorant about the tides in the bay and it was often just mud when we wanted to kayak. One day, we were lucky to be around when the tide was in and enjoyed the rowboat.I appreciated having a washer and dryer, but wasn’t expecting to share them with the housekeeping department in a maintenance garage filled with cleansers, tools and paint cans.We are senior citizens and the photo in the listing didn’t show how steep the set of often slippery stairs to enter the apartment was. Carrying luggage was difficult.It would be very helpful for the listing to clearly describe the difficult stairs, the lack of AC in bedrooms, the limited boating hours, and sharing the driveway and laundry with maintenance and housekeeping.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We will use your feedback to make our listing even clearer. The cottage's air conditioning is provided by a mini split in the main living kitchen dining area with fans provided in the 2 bedrooms. We will look into whether window units would be appropriate additions to the bedrooms. The cottage is not advertised as waterfront. The listing describes it as "nestled among the treetops" with access to our dock with kayaks and rowboat. Our dock is on a tidal inlet, meaning tides rise and fall and at low tide the water washes out of the bay. We would be happy to leave a tide chart in the unit. The stairs are shown clearly in our listing photos, including their steep pitch, but we will consider using additional wording. The washer and dryer are located on the bottom floor of the building and are not indicated as private. We do use this area for storage of things we use to maintain our properties as well as 2 washers and 2 dryers that the owner and myself will access occasionally. We will make that clearer in the listing as well. We are sorry the driveway noise was disruptive during your stay. We are located in a residential area and we cannot control the comings and goings of other homeowners and guests. We appreciate your feedback and will consider making this aspect of the setting even clearer in our listing.

Enjoyable stay

My partner and I were glad to stay here. We particularly enjoyed kayaking in the inlet that is at most a two minute walk from the property. About 30 minutes' drive from Bar Harbor where a lot of restaurants, shops, and some trails are, but quite close to other trails like Wonderland and a small town that is less crowded than Bar Harbor and has great food. Would happily stay here again!

Maine trip to acadia

This was a great little spot for the 4 of us and the location was perfect for visiting Acadia national Park and surrounding towns. Would definitely stay here again

Great Stay!

We loved the location of the cottage...far enough away from the crowds, but very accessible to Acadia & Bar Harbor. The cottage was clean and well supplied. We enjoyed our stay!

Nice place on the quieter side of Acadia

We really enjoyed our time in Acadia - this is a great location for the quieter part of Acadia, which we enjoyed a lot. Loved being able to take the kayaks and rowboat out on the water.

Great location and immaculately clean. Very much enjoyed walking to the dock everyday to check the tide and kayaking. Peaceful and beautiful area. I would definitely stay here again.

Great stay, quieter side of MDI

We had a wonderful time over on the quiet side of MDI. Easy access to Southwest Harbor and Acadia. Easy to get to Bar Harbor but away from the crowds of people. Access to the dock and kayaks was a plus. Greatly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful tree house

We enjoyed staying and working at the Tree House. We kayaked each morning in Bass Harbor and went on more adventures in the afternoon. Tha location was perfect quiet and accessible to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The tree house was clean and very comfortable.

Couple Getaway

My husband & I loved staying at this treehouse location. It was the perfect size, equipped with all we needed for our stay. It was about 30 min from everything we wanted to do while visiting Acadia. If we hadn’t stayed here, and opted for Bar Harbor, we would never have seen this part of the area. Plus, the kayaks were a fun activity. Would stay again!

Treetop charm

A very charming, bright and cheery space. We enjoyed the quietside location away from the hustle but close enough to Acadia park. The views from the dock were beautiful. We had a relaxing stay. The host was very responsive in helping us with our needs.

Perfect for a family

Very lovely quiet cottage. Only about 25 minutes from Acadia. It was perfect for our family of 4. I would definitely come back! Water craft availability was a nice touch! Thanks!

Nice place to stay close to Acadia National Park in the quieter part of the island. A lot of nice restaurants close by. Treetop retreat was smaller than we expected but was plenty of room for our party of 4. It is a second story house so you must go up a set of stairs to access the house. Wasn’t bad except for when lugging heavy suitcases and coolers up. The beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed on our stay. Having access to the washer & dryer downstairs was a plus. We didn’t get time to enjoy the canoe & kayaks but love that it was an option. Host was very quick to answer questions. Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us.

Perfect Maine Getaway!

The treehouse is a perfect summer spot. The photos do not do it justice; it is clean and tidy and the kitchen has every tool you could imagine needing (far from classic rental sparseness!). The location was perfect on Acadia's quiet-side, and the dock / kayak access was such a wonderful touch! Though it is a slight walk away from the house; the dock is not connected to the treehouse. Stacy was very responsive to all of our questions, within half an hour. I really have no complaints and would certainly recommend my friends stay here, or we stay here again!

Great cottage in the quiet corner of Acadia

This cottage is charming and comfy. It has everything you need, plenty of bedding, kitchen wares, towels, etc. The deck and patio set are great. The trees grew up taking away a potential view of the bay, but the trees do give the treehouse feel and privacy. We used the kayaks, dock, and garden areas quite a lot. The tide is very dramatic and the bay empties out, it will take a day or so to get used to that. The location is tranquil and out of the way, but there are quality restaurants and convenience stores within a mile or two. Just a couple of things, not a complaint, but informative, there is not a dishwasher so pack paper goods if you're staying as a family. Also, there is a long staircase up to the cottage. The steps are fine and there are handrails, but anyone in the party staying there needs to understand that you'll be doing these stairs to come and go, take out the trash, and do laundry, so you'll be doing them often. If we return to Acadia we will definitely consider this cottage again!
