We could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Acadia National Park. The house was lovely, clean, well equipped, furnished nicely and conveniently located. Loved being able to walk down to the water, watching deer grazing around the yard, and winding down by the fire after a fun day of exploring.

This is a spacious, beautiful property in a quiet, lovely spot, but also a very quick drive to downtown SWH. The sunroom is a particularly nice spot for hanging out or dining. Great views. The path to the oceanfront area can be a little tricky if you’re not used to clambering on rocks, but well worth it. (Would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues). Clean and beautiful recently renovated kitchen and bathroom. We hope to return.

We had a great stay. Owners have made upgrades to kitchen and baths. It was well-equipped and clean. The location is terrific: quiet with ocean/beach access down the private lane and close enough to town to put food, ice cream and shops in easy reach. The sunrise was perfect.

We loved the house. The house was a wonderful size for our family. Loved the updated kitchen and bathrooms. Access to a beautiful beach. Our girls really enjoyed the books and seeing the cool instruments.

Beautiful location

Wonderful location. View of the ocean from the sunroom was beautiful. Deer roamed freely in the field. Area was quiet and semi-secluded but close enough to Bar Harbor that you could quickly drive there if you wanted too. Very close to Acadia. The house had everything we needed and there were even a couple of beach towels which were handy since we had flown in and had not brought those. Cozy atmosphere. Home was inviting and quite lovely. The walk to the ocean took about 5 minutes and the view was spectacular! We found lots of pretty rocks and shells. We didn’t actually cook but the kitchen was well equipped if we had. There was plenty of space for our family of 5. It was a great week!

Fantastic quiet home

We absolutely loved this house! It was a short walk to the shoreline where we spent many happy hours playing on the rocky coast. The house itself was spacious with a lot of living space. The sunroom was a lovely spot to eat a meal and play a game. We were visiting Acadia National Park and everything on the quiet side was a short drive away. Cadillac Mountain access was about 30 minutes when we were there.

Comfortable house beautiful view

The house was perfect for our 4 day stay. My sister and her fiance and my husband and I had a great time relaxing at the house after long days of hiking. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. The host was very responsive.

Nice home for a family stay.

We loved our stay in this home! The location in Southwest Harbor was close to the Seawall & Bass Harbor lighthouse so it was only a short drive to explore & go back for a sunset view. From the house, we frequently saw deer & turkey in the field. It was a short walk down the road & through a small wooded area to explore the beach. It was not crowded at all. The house itself was very clean. The kitchen & baths had been remodeled recently & were in great working order. The screened in porch was enjoyable to sit & watch the wildlife. The washer & dryer seemed newer. It does not have central AC, but we opened the windows & they had fans to help circulate air. The heat worked exceptionally well. The mattress in the master bedroom could probably stand to be updated. Overall, this was a nice home & we would recommend it to others. It was great for our family.

4 Brits and a grumpy American

From the outside you wonders if you were at the right place, but once inside you knew you were. We want to thank Whitney and Don for the use of their guest home. It offered us everything we were looking for and more. Our party agreed that we could stay there another week and never leave the house and have plenty to enjoy. We have life long stories to remind us of our stay.

Excellent Home

Great house, with all you need for a great stay. Quiet location, access to beach our boys loved exploring, and they also spent hours in the “play room”. We would certainly book again!

Cozy Vibes and Scenic Location

It was an absolute treat staying at Whitney and Dan's home in Southwest Harbor. I stayed at their home for my bachelorette/birthday trip with my sister-in-law and bridesmaids and had a lovely time. It was very easy for us to travel to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor during our visit. The home was a cozy retreat after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The private beach access was a really nice too! If you are looking in the area for a great place to stay with wonderful hosts look no further. Thank you again Whitney and Dan!

Perfect for our family trip

Welcoming home in quiet area- close to several easy hikes. Frequent deer sightings, easy beach picnics, and fun games and puzzles for a rainy day or evenings.

Great time in a great house!

My family of five includes small children, and we met my mom and stepmom for the week. The sunrise from the upstairs bedroom and main floor was stunning! The house had everything we needed, and we had a wonderful spring break. I would recommend this house to anyone who is visiting to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. It was accessible and located perfectly.

weekend trip for MDI running festival

great house was perfect. excellent selection of children’s toys and books to keep my grandsons happy. thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach. Easy drive to all that Acadia has to offer. Host were readily available and extremely helpful. If it works out we would definitely book it again.

Beautiful Location in SW Harbor

My husband and I really enjoyed our recent stay with our children. The location was everything. We spent hours on the very private and stunning shoreline exploring the tide pools and looking for sea glass - just a short walk through the woods from the property. While the house was on the older side, it was very well appointed. We appreciated the comfortable king size bed, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. We loved the views from the sunroom, and our kids especially enjoyed the piano, books, and games. Thank you for your hospitality!
