Thank you for your review of our Adirondack cabin and grounds. You mention time spent enjoying the waterfront deck. It offers a perfect place to observe the lake’s wildlife residents — bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, ducks and beaver have delighted renters.

Happy to learn that you found the cabin/lake a quiet and relaxing place. Our six acre site does provide a rustic, private environment.

Thank you for spending time at Camp Critters. As you indicate, there is not a sandy beach at the waterfront area. Most of our guests travel 2 miles to the public beach, on adjoining Indian Lake. Mt. View Lake is well known for its excellent fishing and I'm glad the young children enjoyed their off-the-dock fishing experience.

I'm sorry to learn that you were not happy with our well water. You are our first renter to express this concern. When I spoke with you, before your time at the cabin, I suggested that you might want to provide your own drinking water, because well water can taste differently from one region to another. When I provided you and your family with an orientationn to the cabin, grounds and waterfront, I told you that ducks might climb up on the dock and "do their business" and that I provide a a push broom, hanging from the boathouse, for renters to remove these deposits. This has been an acceptable option with other renters. Ducks will be ducks. I'm sorry that you did not catch any fish. The lake is considered one of the best fishing lakes in the Adirondacks. Hopefully, you'll have better luck in the future, but I can't guarantee fishing success. When you informed me that you were leaving a day early, I said that the decision to leave was your decision. and I was sorry you were unhappy with your four days at the cabin, but I did not agree to a day's rental refund -- that decision would rest with VRBO, since they have your rental fee.
