Great place to stay.

We were visiting family that lived a few streets over and this was a perfect place for us. comfy beds, great host, our kids really enjoyed the game room. Well stocked. Great communication with the host and very accommodating when our flight got cancelled. We will stay again next time we are visiting family again.

We have stayed here before and hopefully be able to stay again.

Property was perfect for our family of 5, 3 adults and 2 children. Children loved the pool, and jacuzzi. Fishing off the dock . Thank You

Astor Cottage

Property was nice - had a beautiful deck with hot tub and pool. Was well equipped with what we needed. Would suggest to update the pictures on Vrbo listing. We were expecting the bunk beds and were a little disappointed to find out they were no longer there.

Private Home While Visiting Local Relative

We enjoyed our stay while we were there. The home was fully equipped and supplied with anything you could need including condiments and spices. Our relative became hospitalized so we spent a lot of our time traveling and at the hospital but it was nice to have a place of our own to land and unwind at the end of the day. It would have been nice if we had more time to enjoy being at the house, fishing, playing ping pong or pool but family was the priority for us on this trip.

The property was very clean, well kept, and my family felt comfortable in their stay.

We have stayed in a variety of places in Astor for years and this one was the best so far. We had family and friends staying as well as our 9-year-old, and everyone had a wonderful time. We had enough space so that we were able to have some privacy, and then enough space for us to all gather as a group and enjoy each other's company. The property was very well kept; even cleaner and more accommodating than we had anticipated. The owners communicated with us in our welcome and regarding everything we would need. They were professional and made it so that our experience was the best. We would definitely stay at this property again! Thanks for a memorable visit!

Awesome location!

This is a great location. It is close to the boat ramp, local restaurant, and has quick access to the St. John's. It is only a quick boat ride across Lake George to Silver Glen. The deck is beautiful and very spacious. You have everything you need for a nice cookout. The above ground pool and hot tub is a nice bonus. I would recommend the cleaning company to do a better inspection. There was a pair of underwear left in one of the drawers and pretty dirty under the bed. One of the fans in the bedroom also needs serviced. It was extremely loud and you definitely couldn't sleep with it running. This was a great location. Unfortunately, the communication has left me unhappy. I contacted the manager requesting an early check in, which he graciously accommodated. However, this is when I was notified that the AC was not working properly. I was never updated before check in if it was working. When we arrived it was working but pretty hot in the house. You could tell it was having trouble keeping it cool. There was someone the next day there to replace it and we had no more issues. The manager did mention compensating us for this, but I never heard anything else about it. My friend also left a carving knife behind. This had sentimental value as it was his sister's who passed away. He reached out to the owner through a phone message and email with no response. I then contacted the owner through the VRBO app. He seemed responsive and stated, "I'm on it." This was a week ago and I haven't heard anymore about it. I know he isn't responsible for items left behind. However, a simple message updating us would have been nice. My friend is pretty upset that he left it behind. Despite this issue, we did have a great time. It is a great place to take a boat and spend quality time with your group. I would recommend it.

reasonable / comfortable

we were going with a large group several properties around area . the pool was very cooling after being cleaned, large oak tree over pool so lots of leaves . we went early oct. back patio was a great place to visit n hangout , Hot tub was dream . water view is a canal with access to larger waterways . will we go back ? Yes !!

Perfect Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very accommodating and welcoming place to stay. We brought a boat and two jet skis. Plenty of room for all of them at the dock.

Astor, vaca

Property was Absolutely Amazing, my husband, daughter, 2 grandchildren 7, and 10 and myself had a very relaxing time. Fishing off the dock, kids swimming in the Pool, walking around neighborhood, absolutely Perfect. We had a fish fry with local friends on Saturday. Amazing!Thank You

Terrific!

We have a family of 6, including children ages 5-13. We wanted to do camping like activities (fishing, hiking, boating, s'mores, etc.) without the tent camping which is why we chose the Astor area! This property was such an amazing find. It is spacious with three bedrooms and two baths plus the living area and additional sun room, office space and the game room... a lot of room to spread out! There were 4 tvs which we did not use all of but so nice that they are there if you need or want them... all with Netflix, Roku, etc. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook at "home" and there were several condiments and small things like paper plates, napkins, sugar, coffee, etc. which made it nice to not have to go and purchase from the store. The pool table was entertaining for the kids and the swimming pool and hot tub were awesome too... as was the dock to just sit out by or fish from. I doubt there are any other vacation spots in the area that share this one's location and amount of amenities. It was really just perfect for us. Rob, the owner was extremely responsive and answered any questions within minutes. After we checked out he personally called me to thank us for staying and wished our family well. He was sincere and genuine in every way, a real pleasure to do business. Our experience was fantastic. As this place is not far from our home, I can imagine us returning here again in the future.

Perfect access to the springs with stuff to do for the kids too!

This home is set in a very convenient location if you are wanting to access Alexander Spring and not far from Pone De Leon spring and the pool, Jacuzzi, pool table and ping pong was a great touch to entertain the kids.

Absolutely Perfect

My daughter and I wanted a centrally located property to do some spring hopping for her birthday and Rob's place checked all the boxes. Plenty of comfortable room to relax. We took advantage of the pool during the day and hot tub for some star gazing at night. We fished the dock and caught plenty of bluegills. The beds were comfortable, I slept like a baby. The home was clean and always pleasing to come home to. Rob was always available via text or phone if I had questions. We will be booking this house next time we want to visit the nearby springs. Great Boater’s Retreat on the St Johns

Rob was a great host! House was set up perfectly for entertaining the whole family. Dock worked out great in the protected canal for keeping the boat in the water overnight and not having to worry about boat wakes! Whole house Sonos system was great and the stand alone ice maker was perfect for loading up the coolers for the boat. Silver Glen was a quick 15 - 20 minute ride. House was very well stocked and already had the few things we forgot. Outdoor living area was very nice. Large deck, pool, hot tub, grill, seating, and back screened in patio with extra fridges, pool table and dining table really extended the living space. We watched maybe 10 minutes of TV while there for 3 days, to nice of a set-up to waste time in doors! Thanks for sharing your house! Our family had a great time! Bill & Michelle
