My husband and I enjoyed the cabin and location to everything. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, biking and visiting the local downtown shops/restaurants in Wellsboro. The cabin has everything you need and was very clean! The floors creak but that didn’t both us. Plenty of yard space for our small dog to enjoy.

We had a lovely stay with our three dogs! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we have everything we needed!

Really nice cabin on huge property. Lots of wildlife. Many state parks and scenic views within a 30 min drive. Wellsboro very close. Lots of good restaurants. House had wraparound deck and good campfire area. Outdoor covered eating area too. Host is super nice and accommodating. Tons of stars on a clear night.

Had a great stay at the property. The cabin/house and property is beautiful. It is secluded but also not far from everything. I would highly recommend staying here.

The cabin more than we expected! When entering it’s like going back in time. The gardens were magical! Cleanliness- Excellent. Marianne was a great host , explained everything to us. Kitchen great everything we needed in the cabin was provided! We went zip lining,golfing, tubing, horseback riding and then county fair. Couldn’t ask for more!

Great property... Great location... The outdoor area was amazing. Some minor issues in house. Didn't bother my party but something to consider if important to you. 1. Floors were loud so if you need absolute quiet, this could be a problem. 2. No central air. There were 2 window units in bedroom but none in living areas. That said, it wasn't needed while I was there. A very great place to stay overall.

Had a wonderful Christmas getaway at the cabin! The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were snowed in the whole week but the cabin was lovely and it made for a perfect trip! Would return!

We had such a lovely, relaxing and restorative time at the cabin! Marianne was incredibly friendly, responsive and helpful with any questions or needs related to our stay. Most of our stay it was pretty cloudy at night but we were so glad that we got one super clear night....A highlight was coming back from Cherry Springs State Park at 230 am to just as brilliant of a night sky from our porch! It was quite magical to take it all in. Our week was a great mix of just chilling out, watching World Cup games, playing Dungeons and Dragons, cooking (and eating) or reading and playing music on the porch. We also ventured out to bike Pine Creek Gorge, walk the trails on the rim and make stops along the PA Scooped Ice Cream Trail. Downtown Wellsboro was quite charming and convenient to access as was Stony Fork and the Mennonite shop! We had wanted to visit the PA Wilds for several years and this was a perfect home base to do so with our two teens and small dog! Thank you!

The cabin was cozy, wonderfully decorated for the holidays, clean,well organized and the best host ever! There was not one thing this property lacked. My family had a wonderful 7 day stay here. We explored the area and had dinner at some wonderful places. We will definitely look forward to another stay. The only sad part of our stay was when we had to leave this wonderful cabin .

My husband and I, along with our Boston terrier mix, Maggie, were so looking forward to our fall getaway at this log home. Five minutes into our tour of the house by Marianne, the owner, we heard a horrible sound. Maggie had fallen down 13 steps to the basement level due to a very dangerous open doorway with no gate or barrier to prevent her fall. This is clearly a safety issue that should have been addressed long ago because anyone could fall down the steps by simply backing up or losing one's balance. Maggie was clearly injured & we had to take her to a small animal hospital half an hour away. Although we were both very upset, Marianne continued giving me a tour of the inside & outside of the property instead of waiting until a later time. At that point we just wanted to have our pup treated for her injured back leg. Once Maggie was given an exam, X-rays, & bloodwork, we wanted to take her home the next morning so she could be in a safe space. One would think Marianne would have offered to pay something towards our vet bill since it was due to negligence by having an open doorway to the basement, but she did not. We were partially refunded the two remaining nights we had paid for, but our pup has to be kept immobile and on pain medication for two weeks. If you are going to take your pet or young child to this home, please be aware of this danger!

Beautiful, clean house

Enjoyed our stay here with friends for Dickens Weekend. The house had all the amenities we needed and was just a short drive into Wellsboro.

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and spacious. There was plenty of room to relax. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were large. The outdoor area had a large campfire spot and a gazebo-covered dining area with fountains and a fan. The backyard was just magical at night! Cabin location was just right for us, too.

We loved our stay here. It’s in a beautiful spot. The home is cozy and stocked with everything you may need. They do great job keeping it clean we saved this location for future visits. Thanks for having us.

The property was very well maintained inside and out. The photos were not deceiving. Inside was well furnished with plenty of room. The outside had deck and porch all around the house, with fire pit and an outside eating area with covering, and more.

Cabin Stay

We enjoyed staying at the cabin! It was clean, quiet, and conveniently located a short distance from historic Wellsboro. The owners also provided updated suggestions on local hiking trails, which makes the cabin a great place to stay for anyone wanting to enjoy the PA Grand Canyon. Highly recommend!

Very clean house in a private location but only about a 10-15 minute drive to the shops and restaurants in town. The beds are comfortable although the frame of one is squeaky. Lots of sitting space both indoors and outside. Host is very responsive and goes out of her way to be really helpful. Kitchen is well equipped and has everything that you might need. Would definitely recommend.

Family Getaway

Really enjoyed staying at the Mountain House. Marianne was a great host. Peaceful surroundings and comfy beds. Close to the Pine Creek Trail. What more could you ask for?

Wonderful Place to Stay

Great location to enjoy the quietness of the woods. Well equipped home. Very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Marianne was accessible and helpful throughout our trip. Many close by attractions to enjoy.
