Amazing Villa with stunning Views

We had a fantastic holiday at this amazing villla which is exceptionally clean. We were greeted by the owner Alexis on arrival which was quite late and he provided us with food from his own cupboards as there were no shops still open. We could not have found a better place to stay - we loved it😁

Family Getaway

This location and house was the perfect getaway we were looking for. The pool needed a little work but overall it was the highlight of the trip. We were able to walk out and enjoy the sounds of Greece. It is only about 10 minutes from the little town that supplied plenty of local treasures, grocery store, beaches and most important amazing ice cream stand. Alex, the host was available at anytime. We are looking forward to coming back next year!

Little Gem

We could not of wished for a better villa to stay. It had everything that we needed and more, from plenty of room to magnificent views. The pool area was the ideal spot for relaxing in the sun and a quick dip to cool off. We loved having breakfast on the porch off the dining area. There are so many nice things we could say about this villa it truly is ideal for anyone that wants a relaxing time away. A special thank you to Alexandros for a few restaurant recommendations that were great and also Valia who kept in touch to ensure we were okay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful villa with amazing views and stunning pool area

Alex's villa is a stunning house set on a hillside overlooking mountains and a wide bay stretching as far as Chania penninsula. It's huge living room and spacious pool area has beautiful views from every angle. The villa is in a great peaceful location, on its own large piece of land about 20 mins drive from the fantastic town of Rethymno and 5 mins to the village of Episcopi where there's some good local and amazing value tavernas', a bakery / cafe and decent supermarket. Alex the owner is on hand living discretely next door and brought us Raki and tomatoes and was an excellent and attentive host! All in all we loved our stay! You need a car for sure.

Great Family Break

We had a superb 3 generations family break - grandparents, son and wife plus grandson. We travelled in June as last chance for an early season break before grandson starts school. The property was exactly as described, expect the trees have grown a bit. It is up a hill set back from the coast and the views are spectacular. It is very peaceful, with only the odd car and the clanging of bells on nearby sheep and goats. It is easily accessible from the main Northern Axis road and Rethymno is in easy reach with Chania and Heraklion also straightforward to visit. The house is very comfortable, the pool is excellent and the facilities are good. There are a lot of out door lounging options. All in all we had a great time.

Stunning villa, so peaceful

This is a wonderful villa, much larger and more spacious than the photos suggest. The main living area is large and open plan and beautifully, and tastefully decorated. The three bedrooms are also large and the kitchen very well appointed - although there was no washing machine that we found. maybe we missed it. The broadband is fast - fine for streaming and for video calls. The outside area is also spacious and the pool - although pretty cold in October - a lovely feature. We enjoyed the patio area in the sun and the view over the sea is glorious. Just some things to be aware of, the path to the villa is fairly long and unmade so if you have a small or low slung hire car you may find that it bottoms out occasionally. Take care and take your time. To be fair there are a few roads in Crete like this so we would probably get a larger car on our next visit anyway! Also the villa is a little remote - there are no facilities or shops within walking distance but there are shops, restaurants and takeaway establishments within a few minute's drive. All in all though we had a wonderful, relaxing week here and would recommend without hesitation. Thank you for such a fantastic break!

Didn't want to leave!

We had high expectations based on the pictures of the villa, and we were surprised to have them surpassed when we arrived. The house is extremely spacious, decorated beautifully, clean, and in excellent condition. I had the feeling that I was staying in someone's well-loved home, not a vacation rental. This made our visit special, as I felt like I was living in a real Greek home. Alex kindly supplied us with some food, water, and a home-made casserole at our arrival. The outside areas and view were amazing, with so many places to sit and enjoy the view, shade or sunshine, depending on your mood. The views of the mountains and water were gorgeous, and it was so nice to have a pool. Many evenings we enjoyed the sunset over the mountains and water. Our daughters enjoyed the six kitties that visited every day, and we kept our eyes out for goats and sheep passing through the nearby fields. The beds were very firm, but I discovered that a firm mattress was very good for my back, so it wasn't a problem for me at least, although my daughters wanted them to be more squishy. One of the best beaches that we found on Crete is less than 10 minutes from the house, and there is a grocery store and ATM close by too. Be sure to visit Lake Kournas for paddle boating. Instead of the Samaria Gorge, we hiked St. Anthony's gorge and were thrilled with the experience. Have fun in Crete!

Jederzeit wieder!

Dear Winfried, thank you for taking the time to write a review for your holiday break and your stay with us. It has been a great pleasure to welcome you as our guests! Past visitors very much welcomed the company of the local animals, and due to the lots of love and treats received from previous guests the cats might have been curious to pay you a visit as well. We are really sorry hearing that it has affected your overall experience, as of course we would have welcomed the opportunity to see how we could possibly limit and ensure your outmost comfort throughout your stay.

Stunning views so close to the beach

This was a chilled family holiday and Villa Alexis was perfect . A well stocked supermarket in the village provided all we needed and with beach tavernas for lunch , ice creams and beach umbrellas we wanted for nothing. You will need a car as the location is remote but the stunning views more than make up for this. The villa is spotless with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and all mod cons - boys loved the jacuzzi bath!
