The host & reviews are accurate. It’s a steep driveway (about 20%), but after the 1st time it’s no problem. We parked 2 cars, one in the garage, which made unloading & packing up easier and one in the above parking area. The views are sensational of Mt.Baker & the Sound. House was plenty big for 6 adults & 2 children, so everyone has their own space. Host left us firewood & a wonderful time making s’mores. House was extremely clean. Louise’s daughter was great at communicating.

Thank you. We’ve been renting Sunrise since 2007. The views are fantastic. I hope you saw deer and eagles and other wonderful things while you were there. If there is a minus tide -2 or -3, you can walk the tide flat and find starfish and crab and clams. The tide pools are also fascinating with the little fish. Biking is great on the island; I don’t know if you brought your bikes. There’s three wonderful walking trails that you may have read about in the folder. We hope you can come back again. Louise And yes, my daughter Jolene is great. Thank you.

Enjoyed a thanksgiving get together here. The view was spectacular. Everything was provided. The host was gracious and friendly. Would come back again. The driveway was very steep but parking was ample.

Thank you for your review. We are always pleased when our guest share that they’ve had a wonderful time on our special place on Lummi Island. Our kids were here for two weeks over Christmas and they also had a wonderful time. I hope you had some sunny days as we’ve had a lot of rain. The Eagles are everywhere. The deer keep coming. And of course it’s fun to watch the herons and other sea birds. If you were here during a low tide, I hope you were prepared and went out on the tide flat. There’s all kinds of interesting things there to find. We do hope that you will come back. Happy new year.

Short weekend trip to Lummi

It was an excellent location! We traveled with our dog and she had an excellent time! The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the views. We will be back!

It was a very relaxing and delightful place to be at. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We kayaked right out front, sunbathed, watched the fishing boats go by and walked along the beach. The house was immaculate and so cozy. The views were amazing.

We are always pleased when our guests tell us what a great time they have had at Sunrise at Lummi Island. We have had great weather this summer. The tide flats are wonderful. There are too many deer I think 😜 because they keep eating the hollyhocks. There are so many eagles now. One time I saw five of them looking for food on the tide flat. It is quite a site. We hope that you can come again. It is our favorite place.

A great spot to bring a group of people, your boats, some wine, and enjoy the water and great views!

Thank you for your review. This is an absolutely beautiful time of year and the views are spectacular. I’m guessing you saw some deer and some eagles and other types of birds in the water. Many of our guests enjoy the walking trails such as the Otto preserve and The Baker Trail. I enjoy riding my bike around the island. We hope you come again.

The house had everything we needed, very well appointed with all that you need to cook, relax and enjoy, location was amazing, everything was perfect. Took our Kayaks, easy out in and out. Island is very peaceful, took a drive around, stopped at the grocery store and had a little lunch next door. Hosts were wonderful and helpful, great communication.

We are so pleased to hear how much you loved our special place. I don’t know if you were here during the low tides, however, if so, I hope you enjoyed looking for crabs or clams or starfish or whatever is visible when the tide is out. Minus tides are always the best. Kayaking is fantastic. I don’t know if you went south as far as the Indian camp which I think now is a state park. Is only accessible by kayak and boat and there’s camping there. We hope you can return.

Wonderful and comfortable vacation house for our young family!

We absolutely loved our stay here -- being "off the beaten track" for a week was perfect for our family to reconnect and relax. Our kids (ages 4 years and 18 months) had a great time exploring the tidepools and the beach and my husband and I enjoyed the breathtaking views! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all and relax.

Wonderful place.

The sunrises were stunning, so nice to be right on the beach for beach combing. We saw bald engles, otters, seals, and a whale exhaling. Lovely home.

Lots of room for us to visit comfortably. We did get caught by high tide on our walk & had to scramble up the neighbor's rocks!! Thank you for another great Lummi Island memory!

Sunrise at Lummi Island is a very special place. There are deer, eagles, otters, and many sea birds. When the tide flat is showing, there are all kinds of living creatures to see there also. I love the beach, walks to the ferry landing and back, as well as to Sunrise Cove and back. Of course, the trails on the island are wonderful as well. We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time is guests in the past have had as well.

Great house on Lummi Island.

The house has everything you want. Great views, access to the sound. Kitchen was very useful to cook meals. Me and my family had a great stay.

Great property!

This was a great property! We loved the views! The access to the home is definitely not handicap accessible. The driveway is a bit daunting but we vanished just fine. The hiking on the island was amazing!

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. That is the response time after time.This year we’ve seen more eagles than any year in the past. I hope you saw deer down on the beach. My dad was in a wheelchair and he had no difficulty getting in the house going in through the garage. The deck was accessible to him and there was a bedroom on the main floor plus the bathroom. We hope you can come again.

stay at Lummi Island

Very nice house, had everything we needed. Loved the view. Enjoyed the beach at the house, Sunset Beach and took a hike at the Baker Reserve. Will go again someday

We are always pleased to hear our guests have enjoyed their stay at Sunrise--our family retreat since 1945. The Baker Reserve is a hike with fantastic views over the west side of the Island. Also within walking distance is the Otto Preserve--about 1 to 1.5 miles of trails through the woods and beautiful. Beach combing is our favorite--always looking for agates and beach glass. We hope you will return soon.

The house is excellent and the view is gorgeous! The only reason for a ‘good’ rating rather than an ‘excellent’ rating is the steep driveway with little parking and maneuvering room.

Amazing Place

Louise’s property and home was amazing! We had the perfect weekend getaway. The home is clean, right on the water, and beautiful! We would definitely stay again if we were on Lummi Island! Highly recommend!

Great family friendly spot

This is a nice quiet spot and feels relaxing and peaceful. The house has all you need and great for kids and dogs. The driveway is a surprise as it's very steep and gets tricky with more than one car, or anything with a long wheelbase.
